Has anyone seen this team worse off than right now?
Rico replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meh, Chris Kelsay is gone. This is the first time in YEARS that I can look at the roster and not identify any long-time, stone-cold losers that will drag the team down just by their mere presence, all the proven trash is gone. The true new beginning won't happen until the ownership finally changes, but it's coming. Right now, I'm happy. -
No surprise that he is underemployed.

$10M a year is a hell of a lot to pay the one-dimensional, high-motor, lunch pail (not that there's anything wrong with that) Kruger, very good at rushing the QB, not so good against the run.. Ellerbe is a stud-in the-making & would be a GREAT pick-up at a much-lower price IF he becomes available.

Though it hasn't held up that well & is a true relic of the very early 70's, imo MASH the movie > MASH the TV show. Back then, I couldn't take a scrub like Alan Alda seriously, Donald Sutherland was always Hawkeye to me.

Tough break though for anyone who bought a Mario Williams #94 jersey.

He had a good game against the Jets in 2004... maybe it was 2005, I forget.

Thank you Jesus!

Which Super Bowl loser did you want to win?

2006 Bears VERY happy that Lovie Smith is not the Bills new HC. -
Definitely cheering for the Ravens.... Reed, Suggs, Ngata all deserve a ring + RayRay deserves another... Moss & Lil Donte do not.

No, just wishful thinking, it's gonna happen sooner or later. Let me rephrase that:Unless he quickly pulls off a miracle, he will be dumped not long after the new ownership takes over. So far, Brandon has been associated with failure. No new owner in their right mind would keep him around based on what we've seen to date. Does he have a chance to turn things around? Absolutely. So far, it sure looks like he has taken a different, positive approach to business-as-usual with the Marrone hiring & the apparently increased involvement of Whaley. Will he turn things around? TD had a whole lot more going for him when he became president & all football operations were going to be handled by him. Same POS of an owner, but maybe Ralph really does stay away this time with his advanced age & all. Ralph's stooges, Littman & Jimmy O, haven't gone anywhere though. Do I hope he succeeds? Hell yes, I want to see the Bills win again!... plus anyways there's nothing else you CAN do while waiting for the new ownership to take over. Make no mistake though, if he doesn't turn things around, he will be gone.

Unless he pulls off a miracle this year, he will be dumped when the new ownership takes over.

A Few Scattered Thoughts About Running Quarterbacks.....
Rico replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt Steve Young was much harder to defend against, thanks to his unique skill set. But when it comes to intangibles & bottom-line results, he can not come close to being mentioned in the same breath as Joe. That's why he sat on the bench & watched the master at work. I will give him props for FINALLY getting a ring, but let's not get carried away here. -
Nice sentiments, however Atlanta in the Super Bowl = zzzzzzzz. Battle between the Harbaughs with Ray getting another ring is what I would like to see now. Atlanta - Houston = ZZZZZZZZZ, that would be CBS' nightmare.
-
Maybe if he still had a winner like Tebow too.. Game was over after the Ravens tied the game on that ridiculous bomb... like I said, it was just a matter of time before P-Gump screwed up. Might as well be safe, let the clock run, & hope that someone on D or ST (again!) makes a play in OT. Sure can't single-handedly blame him for the loss, but he's just not clutch in the playoffs, not at all. When discussing the greatest QBs of all time, he is below the top, looking up at the very best of the best.

Joe Flacco - interested?
Rico replied to DJasper Probincrux III's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have fun slamming him, but I will give him props, he was money today. Still not a fan of his playing style or leadership intangibles, but I can't deny what I saw today, I hope he can keep it going this year for Ray. -
History now shows Peyton Manning for Colts = Peyton Manning for Broncos = Big Game Chump. History said he would fold in the clutch & that's exactly what he did in OT, it was only a matter of time. History says he has ONE game-winning drive in the playoffs, the odds were strongly against him ever doing that again. Elite in the regular season, NOT elite in the post-season. Peyton Manning Playoff Record as Starting QB (9-11): 1999 (0-1), 2000 (0-1), 2002 (0-1), 2003 (2-1), 2004 (1-1), 2005 (0-1), 2006 (4-0), 2007 (0-1), 2008 (0-1), 2009 (2-1), 2010 (0-1), 2012 (0-1) Playoff Comebacks: 2006 (1) Playoff Game-Winning Drives: 2006 (1) Bottom line. can't put this one on Fox.

P-Gump declined CBS interview after the game, wtf... oh well, enough fun, time for Packers-Niners.
-
Congrats to the Ravens, Ray Lewis, and Joe Flacco (not Sucko today), great performance, great game! As for P-Gump (Big Game Chump), nice pick in OT, another one-and-done, now 9-11 all-time in the playoffs as starter.

Bills hire Doug Marrone to be Head Coach
Rico replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meh... don't really care though. Everyone in the front office & coaching staff will be gone whenever the new ownership finally takes over, he'll be easy to dump. I give him a year.
