I expect Kolb & TJax to be complete garbage. Thus, I expect EJ to end up starting ASAP. I don't know how he will perform but I'm hoping for the best.

Owner. On the field, unless EJ is ready to start week 1, it's still QB, Kolb & TJax are both garbage.

1. Dylan playing Merrillville, IN 1981 (just outside of Gary/Chicago). The very last song, he says "We're gonna bring out a special guest." and we all thought it might be Robbie Robertson or someone similar. He then pushes out this unknown guy in a wheelchair, adjusts the mike stand down for him, and the wheelchair guy sings a Chuck Berry cover, "No Money Down" (had to look it up, I had never heard it before). Dylan was playing sax during the verses, and coming forward to sing back-up on the choruses. 2. Dead Boys opening for Iggy in Chicago 1982?. They were playing "Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth" from the 2nd LP, Stiv Bators with his all-time great sneer...he unzipped his pants to add 'emphasis' to the song, but a beer bottle thrown from the crowd cold-cocked him (no pun intended) and that was the end of the Dead Boys set. 3. Dylan again with the Heartbreakers opening for the Dead at RFK Stadium, DC 1986 2nd show. The band was very very loose (drunk? high? tripping?). Half-way thru the show, they started playing "I'm Moving On", a complete trainwreck that came to a screeching halt after about a minute or so. Dylan regrouped the band, then says "Aw, we were just checking to see if these instruments were in tune... I think we're in tune now...", then went over-the-top rock star on the next 4 songs: strutting the front of the stage, holding his guitar like a machine gun, screaming the words to Just Like A Woman & Ballad Of A Thin Man, by far the best versions I ever saw him do, just stunning. Of course, before long it was Tom Petty's turn to sing, Dylan left the stage & all the energy was sapped from the stadium as per usual on that tour.

I'm cool with this pick and the moves to get him for now. I haven't seen too much of him, but on paper he has all the main qualities I look for in a QB (ie. leader, athletic, non-statue). I've read here that he doesn't have any 'signature wins' but I don't believe he has folded at crunch time at the end of big games either (ala Mallett). I'm looking forward to watching him play, and hope he does not become EJ Losman (because then he will have to leave).

That's just so sad to hear. RIP Larry, you were one of the all-time greats.

Not a fan of his style either, not at all... but Madden's enthusiasm more than made up for it. Maybe JM doesn't become that great paired with someone else. May he RIP.

I think that was Bill Simpson. A couple years ago, I watched a tape of the Bills-Jets playoff game from the week before. Bills jumped out to a big lead, then held on for dear life thanks to many Fergy bungles. Like I said above, he wasn't clutch at all. Frank Lewis though, was amazing that day.

He wasn't clutch at all, always folding at the worst possible times. Also had zero pocket presence and would consistently turn a 5-yard sack into a 10+ yard sack by running backwards from the pressure. His leadership skills were extremely weak, always hanging his head down after a mistake (sad sack). To his credit, he did have a strong arm and was pretty tough. All-in-all though, I would have to rate him mediocre at best.

I see your point, but I think Branch is a better player than Lawson, I don't think Lawson is worth a 3rd or 4th round pick. Though maybe the Bills can move KW now for a decent draft pick and it will be close to a wash.

I'm very excited that Chris Kelsay is finally gone! And I'm very interested in seeing how this team will look on the field under Marrone. But I won't be happy until new ownership takes over and all the front-office trash is gone.

Indeed. There may be some innocent, hard-working office people that get swept out with the rest of the trash, but it has to be done.

I was sad to see Fletcher go, but I would not have broken the bank for him + the Bills didn't need to either, just a messed up situation. As for Lil Antoine, he showed absolutely NO signs of becoming the player he was with the Vikings during his time with the Bills, so I was not sad to see him go, especially considering (what appeared to be) the ridiculously over-priced contract he got.

Three Rules Of NFL Free Agency: 1. Do not pay big $ to old players. 2. Do not pay big $ to high-motor, lunch-pailers, 3. Do not pay big $ to midgets. Signing him would clearly violate Rule #3, so the answer is NO.

Maybe not, but he is a great returner... and above all else, he is not a "leader" but a complementary player. All the true poster child's for losing are gone.
