  1. The fact that there is a good faith debate on here re the merits of this spanking means it should not have been prosecuted.

This strikes me as more of a warning/parenting class issue, not a criminal prosecution.

If the people here have access to accurate information to have informed opinions, sure. That may or may not be the case based on the limited information available.

  2. Let's say you live on a block where houses are worth $150,000. One of the houses across the street got a little bit in disrepair over the years and then its owner dies. Now a nice, very wealthy family comes in and buys the run-down house for $240,000. How do the neighbors react?

(Hint: NFL owners do not say "oh my God our league is being gentrified!")

  3. Let's not pretend he has ever had a really good season. He barely cracked 1,000 yards one time in his career. He has had a few nice runs at key points in his career. Today was one of them. But to comment on being lucky...he was lucky to get that big of a hole. He basically ran straight through a huge hole, but he finished strong which was important because we are the bills and every yard counts in that situation because we have had some tough heart breakers in recent years. CJ probably scores on the same run.

"Probably" doesn't count for anything. Somehow "slow" Fred Jackson ended up as the Bills' leading rusher (7 carries, 61 yards). I guess there must be more to running back than breakaway speed. Fun Fact #1: Matt Forte (who was great today) outrushed everyone on the Bills individually with 17 for 82 (4.8 ypc). Fun Fact #2: The Bills RB-by-committee (not including the QB) had 27 rushes for 174 yards (6.4 ypc!). Also please don't start any "take away the one run" garbage, since that would also discount Dixon's big run or the big runs that Spiller will get in the future.

  4. Never mind, he is 20th. Assuming Garrard and Kitna aren't counted as "active" players.

5.5 of the 19 active quarterbacks ahead of him are also backups:

    1. Hasselbeck

    2. Schaub

    3. Vick

    4. Fitzpatrick

    5. Campbell

    6. Cassel (he's the half)

"When you look at Ryan Fitzpatrick, you are looking at the starting quarterback of the Houston Texans."

    At least for Week 1.

  5.

There aren't that many decent punters out there, esp this time of year. I will go out on a limb and predict that we will cycle through multiple guys all year long.

If they had better scouting they could get a punter who would end up 25th to 30th. Instead of 32nd. They are not going to find a top punter that is true. However Moorman was headed for 31st-32nd in net average. Hopefully they will be able to do better (and by the way the person should not fumble snaps).

Does Kyle Orton hold for PATs or do they have to teach someone this week??

  6. Great letter by Moorman!

But I will say that the FO totally mismanaged this. Why didn't they even bring in a guy to compete with him during the offseason, draft, or TC? Dombrowski was always a camp scrub.

Now they cut him with nobody else around to replace him? Some pretty poor management there.

Not really - besides Jordan Gay they can just pick up someone else. There are very few plays that the punter needs to know.
