2nd Annual Reddy Freddy Draft Prediction Contest
cody replied to Reddy Freddy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1st pick - multiple sources indicate the Bills are interested, there is no reason for the Bills to fake the interest - Pettigrew 2nd pick - whichever USC linebacker is left - Matthews 3rd Pick - a good lineman should fall to this spot, I'm hoping it's Alex Mack -
Schopp is great to listen to when they talk about hockey. He's not into football and it shows. He is smarter than the average fan, but does not do the homework you'd expect from a journalist. Riter is much better at covering football. He has some informed sources and often delivers opinions that have value. I like football better than hockey, so I listen to 1230 over 550.

Dominic Rhodes signed for 2 years
cody replied to Nostradumbass's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand what you are saying. There are other teams with bad weather and in small markets that are able to stay out of cap trouble or field a good team. Green Bay was in cap trouble a few years back, but they had superbowl rings that justified the spending. Pittsburg seems to be consistiantly good without getting into cap trouble. Butler always overpaid guys to keep them - even when he was in San Diego. Marv brought the Bills right back to that when he signed Dockery, Kelsay, Schobel, Parrish, Price, etc to large contracts (BTW most of those guys were already here. The $ wasn't to lure them here. It was to keep them from leaving) A team with players as good as the ones in Buffalo should have a low salary. -

I was very critical of the FO last off-season. I am still critical of the way they handle the salary cap. The fact that this team had so little cap room to work with this year is unforgivable. To often the FO seems to waste Mr. Wilson's money on guys like Kelsey. I may jump the gun when the FO does something I like, but that is only because such occurences are rare. Wait until you see my posts after the Bills sign a 28-year-old exclusive rights FA to a 4 year 10 mil deal Do I like Fred Jackson? - the answer is I think Fred Jackson is a good #2. I also think Rhodes is a good #2. The reason I care about how much $ a player makes is because there is a salary cap. Paying Jackson 2.5 mil when he has to play for $500k means that there is 2 mil not available for a guy like Kiaho. (This assumes Rohdes's base salary is near the vet minimum) -
Walker can hold out after he makes the pro-bowl at left tackle. He'll probably be back at RT by 2010 anyway.

Clayton says Bills likely not done dealing
cody replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Parrish is the type of player who may have a higher trade value after the draft. I team that is hoping to draft a returner may be willing to part with a conditional pick in 2010 if they do not get who they want in this draft. Why can't a guy return kicks/punts and be a starter. Many good players have done it. Deon McGee Sayers Metcalf -

Good move. The Rhodes contract likely has much less guaranteed $ than Fred Jackson wanted. The Bills have a guy capable of starting 3 games. Now, Jackson has a choice - sit out and hope for a trade or play for the league minimum. BTW, since when is a person's rap sheet predict thier character. I know many high charicter people with checkered pasts. I also know a lot of scumbags who I wouldn't even want on my co-ed vollyball team. Character is about what someone is going to do when things get tough. A high character guy is someone you want by your side when things go bad. If that guy is willing to stand up and fight with you, who cares if he has a DUI. -
Didn't Graham report that the 2010 pick was conditional? This will look much better if that 6th pick turns into a 3rd or 4th when Peter's reputation carries him back to the pro-bowl.

Personally, I do not take anyone with more than 400 posts seriously.

Why should Toronto not have a team
cody replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) The Bills need Toronto in order to stay in 'the niagara area' 2) Canadians worry that an NFL team in Toronto would cause the CFL to go out of business. The Argos are like the Cowboys of the CFL. 3) Despite having a huge number of people and corporate $, there may not be enough interest in the NFL to support a team in Toronto. See LA 4) They do not need a team, they can share ours. -
The Jets do not have Farve. The Bills thought it might be tough to sell-out a Thursday night game in December against the Jets.

You are that guy the casino protesters are trying to protect.

CONTEST/BET----the Bills first three picks are.....
cody replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1st pick: Cushing - Bills opt for an every down LB over a 3rd down DE 2nd pick: Pettigrew - The perfect guy to catch those 3 yard passes Trent loves Can I change my pick if Peters is traded? -
Bruce Smith played in a different system. My original post was a sarcastic critisism of Fewell's Tampa 2, the sytem where they take an undersized DE who cannot get to the QB and make him a captian.
-
Exactly, The Bills never go after DEs that are over 260. They also shy away from guys who make tackles in the backfield. To get that many tackles for a loss, he must have been abandoning his zone to go after the ball carrier. This is the type of player that would fit better in one of the 'good' schemes. I really do not think the Bills go D-line on Day 1 of the draft. I think the Bills like thier top 4 ends and will go into '09 with those 4 ends. I think the Bills expect the pass rush to come from Schobel, Ellis and blitzes. I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Bills really like Kelsey and Kelsey will be a starter and a captian in '09.

Best seat for a young fan attending his first game?
cody replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not like sitting in the boxes, anywhere. What is great about the club seats is they are outside, but you get box like amenities. -

I, quickly, checked the Bills website. I did not find an e-mail for Guest Services. I think checking with Guest Services about thier current policies, and thier plans to enforce those policies, is more constructive than complaining about things that happened durring the TD era on a message board. -

The club level seats are grey- they are not cheep http://www.buffalobills.com/tickets/premiu...-club-seat.html Looking on the seating chart, I think the best for your $ would be the dark blue '$45.00 Upper Level Corner Rows 21-38" -
How much lower do you think he'll go? 7 spots after 25 and you'll be homeless
-
Isn't that the Bills' free agency plan?

Best seat for a young fan attending his first game?

You are not, but they do not check your ticket stub when you go out to buy beer. There are no ushers preventing you from brinning a beer into the family section. I agree w/ bourbonboy's assesment. I think the club seats are best for kids. But, if you follow his advice, you will be able to get out of the game without making you son hate NFL football. -

#1 yes #2 - Maybe I have bad luck. Whenever I sit in the Family section it is because that was the only section left with enough seats to accomidate my group. Whenever I am in the Family Section, there is a group of 5-10 guys (I asume that they were last minute purchasers too) out of thier minds dunk. I've seen fights and drugs in the Family section. I have had beer spilled on me in hte family section. The only difference I have seen between the family section and the other sections is that in the family section it is easier to get a security guard to deal with a problem. Long story short - In the Family section there are just as many fights, but security breaks them up quicker. -

I have sat almost everywhere in the stadium. For a 1st game, club seats are the best. 1) much 'better' crowd 2) ability to go indoors if it gets to hot/cold 3) easier to get snacks/drinks and not miss the game (I do not know about your son, but in my experience kids will need to use the bathroom at least twice and want to eat/drink the entire game.) The #1 thing you should know - STAY AWAY FROM THE FAMILY SECTION Despite its name, that is not a place to bring young children. -
Bills In Toronto Tickets reduced 17%
cody replied to joe w bags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They reduced the price in Canadian Dollars. Wouldn't that mean a ticked that was $100 USD last year will be $66 USD this year? (17% for Roger's reduction and 17% for the exchange rate)
