  1. Cower to (insert new team here) = Holmgren to Seattle
  2. Yes. Unless we get Polian back. He's had 3 top 5 picks in his career as a GM. His worst one by far was E. James.
  3. This past offseason Bill Polian taled about how the draft setup realy cripples the bad teams by forcing them to pay big $ for players that may or may not pan out. The problem is that bad teams make bad decisions, that's how they get the early picks. Then they make bad desicions with those picks (Mike Williams). Easy for him to say, he picked 1st overall twice. Bruce Smith and Peyton Manning I do not want the Bills getting a top 10 pick - big $ into a guy who has a 50% chance of being a bust.
  4. Bills need to win out. NE needs to lose out. Jets need to lose the next 2. Phins need to lose the next 2. Jets & Phins need to tie on week 17. AFC east standings would be: Bills 9-7 Jets 8-7-1 Phins 8-7-1 NE 8-8 Bills win AFC east A wildcard is not possible. The Colts already have the conference record tiebreaker for one wild card spot, so the Bills cannot beat out the Colts. The Ravens already have the common opponent tiebreaker. They would go 3-1 against Oak, Cle, Mia, Jax while the Bills are 2-2 against those opponents, so the Bills cannot beat out the Ravens.
  5. So basically we stay the same? That is realistic. And DJ leads us to another 7-9 season.
  6. We will win one more game. Mr. Consistency will finish 7-9.
  7. One of Turk's big changes was to call plays from the sideline. This was supposed to give him a better feel for the players and what they could or couldn't due durring the game. Then Trent seemed to stop looking downfield. On the sidelines, it was hard for Turk to know if the receivers downfield were open or not. So Turk moved up to the booth. This does not excuse some of the formation or playcall issues. It does show that Turk has abandoned one of the philisophical changes he wanted to bring to playcalling. Maybe he abandoned them all.
  8. That point is not Jan '09. He's going into his 1st offseason after a season of being in charge of scouting. This offseason will be when he can truely see if he is being given the resources to succeed.
  9. Poz get a pass because he is a 2nd round draft pick playing his 16th NFL game. Kelsey & Denney were not widley critisized until they signed big $ deals after thier rookie contracts. Poz's cap hit this year is 1/2 of Kelsey or Denney's.
  10. Brandon is not going to leave the Bills for a marketing/business job with another team. He has been waiting a long to prove he can be an NFL GM. The only way he leaves is if he's offered a real GM position with another team.
  11. Branden knows more about football than people give him credit for. The real problem is Ralph for not giving any control. After Donahoe, Ralph wanted to retain more control. No one really knows why Pollian was axed, but do not think disagreements between him and Ralph had nothing to do with it. There is no power struggle, Ralph holds it all. That's the problem with the decisions.
  12. Marv left because Ralph, Tom, John, Dick & Russ wouldn't let him do anything. Marv said it himself, he left because the pace was to slow and the 'GM' job he held required him to spend to much time on the marketing/business end and not enough on the football end.
  13. Realistically, Jauron will keep his job no matter what he does. If I was making the call, he’d have to make the playoffs. Since that is impossible, I’d keep DJ if he hired his friend Steve Mariucci as OC. If firing Jauron is not an option, I'd want to bring in some quality coaches and deligate some of DJ's responsibility.
  14. No. Even if they did draft a player w/ franchise QB potential, our coaching staff would screw him up. Think about it, Joe Ferguson was the only QB to come to Buffalo as a rookie and become a good QB for the Bills. That was 35 years ago.
  15. I agree. Last week I wrote posts arguing that this team is made up of to many 'workers' and not enough 'players'. Lunch pail, nose to the grindstone, high motor, film guys are great for the bottom 80% of a roster. But every good team needs guys who are just more talented than the other guys. Off-the-field issues sometimes come with the egos of great players.
  16. Buffalo couldn't completly fill the stadium for the past 2 December showdowns with the hated Miami Dolphins.
  17. Ralph is a constant. So is Chuck Lester.
  18. If these posts are correct, Golisano could sell his interest in the Sabers for almost enough to buy 30% of the Bills. If Paychecks is really in trouble, then maybe investing in an NFL team would be a smart business move. If I had Golisano's $ and experts said my bread and butter business was going to take a big hit, I'd look to diversify. An NFL team is about as good of an investment as someone can get.
  19. His team was so bad that if he didn't laugh, he'd cry.
  20. Why is it that I always get sick after I get a flu shot? I usually do not get the flu, but always feel sick after a flu shot.
  21. The dolphin's game is in TO because this would have been the third year in a row that game failed to be a sell-out. (corporations buying thousands of tickets to prevent blackouts aside)
  22. I was thinking HSBC arena, but a 'winter classic' for the NBA could worth seeing.
  23. It's the NFL. In another few years you'll have to be a felon just to be draft eligable
  24. That's why you do not break the law in Vegas. They have very relaxed laws, but when you cross the line, there is hell to pay.
  25. They should have that Raptor's game in Buffalo. I'd go.
