  1. You are Exactly right Kelly, Sweed, Hardy and Thomas are a couple of years away from being a great help to us. Kelly, Sweed have already had injury issues. They are going to take some huge hits from NFL Safeties and Corners. Neither of them can get out of their own way and neither can Hardy who looks like a string bean. with Linebackers dropping in Coverage and even DE's back there. Those guys will spend more time on IR than on the field. Thomas is the best of the lot, He has the biggest upside, and even he is a year or two away.
  2. The Bills will not move into the top ten. No way
  3. Devin Thomas Certainly the Bills might reach some Devin Thomas at 11. In Defense of that move Devin Thomas ran a 2.5 sec 20 yard dash at the combine. Only one other WR ran that fast. There is no doubt that he is an explosive guy and I do think he will make a very good pro player. But probably not for a couple of years. He would start for us but he would struggle with routes and timing patterns. The mental part of our offense will cause him to blow up a lot of plays. He is a strong Returner who gives you a Special teams bonus. Truthfully I do not hate Thomas at 11 if need be. If we trade down we would have to get him before pick 20. he is a reach at 11 but not a huge reach. Thomas does have the long term potential to be a number 1 receiver. If we can't sign Evans he may be the guy. I think we have better options at 11 than Thomas but I do not hate the pick. Jordy Nelson Similar size strength and downfield speed. An outstanding route runner projects as a prosession receiver although he does not have the short explosion of Devin Thomas. Transition to the pro WR should be quicker than Thomas. Nelson had several huge games in his career against top competition. How about 10 catchs 135 yards against Talib in a victory last year? Nelson is moving fast up the boards. Very impressive week at the senior bowl coaches were very high on him. Caught the only pass thown to him during the game. He is not likely to make it to the third round. he is going somewhere past the middle or late second round. Jordy Nelson can be our number 2 receiver next year he is exactly what our passing game needs right now. Why not trade down and get Jordy Nelson somewhere in the mid to late second round?
  4. Any one of the three but the need is higher at CB and DE. Given the 3, I might take McKelvin but he will be gone. So I say Harvey.
  5. Not saying it sucks but Harvey is a better pick at 11. Everyone has an opinion and you have good players selected but there are other opinions. In 3 years we will know who is right.
  6. There are a lot of talking heads and then ther is Brandt. He picked 92 of the first 100 picks last year.
  7. Put Trevor Scott DE from the Bulls in the 6-7 round and were go to go.
  8. I don't agree. We have a UDFA who is the best player on our team. This is a numbers game
  9. Really good guards are always available in the late first round and in the second round. Really good DL go quickly in the first half of the first round every year. This is our last chance, "hopefully" to draft in the first half of the first round for the next few years.
  10. Watch the tape of the Giants Patriots superbowl then watch any tape of the Bills versus the Pats pressure pressure pressure. It comes from front 7 guys.
  11. I personnally will cut him slack if this is a one day event. I understand it was the scouts who wanted the turf chaged not anyone from the school. What Kelly does from here on is what will make a difference to me. I would be interested in him in the second round. He is certainly out of the first round for me. Walter football has him taken by the Redskins in the 50's. I think higher but then what do I know. I do think he can be a number 2 and a red zone threat. He is a bit of a tweener. maybe he can line up either as a wide out or a tight end. You have to wonder how severe his injury is.
  12. had a 32-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 9-inch long jump, 4.24 short shuttle, 7.00 cone drill, and ran position drills. Kelly looked very good. » DB Reggie Smith (6-0 1/8, 192): Ran the 40 in 4.65 and 4.61, had a 39 ½-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 9-inch long jump, 4.03 short shuttle, 6.70 cone drill, ran position drills. Vertical was not great. and his short shuttle was just ok
  13. Actually I would like to see his other numbers. Vertical especially and the short shuttle.
  14. Even in the films against college competition there is no separation. He does catch the ball though.
  15. I bet he could beat 4.75. He already knows how to run routes. He costs 0 draft choices.
  16. Pretty much everyone knows that.
  17. I do that in a minute!
  18. The extra picks give you more room to move in the bottom of the first and the top of the second. This is a draft were the very good talent is deep. After the top 7-8 picks there is a lack of "excellent" players. There is going to be a very good player at 11. The question is will it be at a position where we have an urgent need? I would not mind having no 1st round picks with 2 seconds, 2 thirds and 3 4's. the moving up the board at any point we need to to grab a specific player. Or sitting tight and waiting for a player to fall to us.
  19. Let the Bengals draft him at 9 he will fit right in.
  20. He becomes our second draft choice. McKelvin / Harvey /Merling number one and Malcom Kelly number 2. Might have to move up a few slots to get him in round 2 or a late 1.
  21. Most Mock drafts do not have trades as someone else wrote. However walter's football does have a alternative scenario that contends that there will be many possibilities to trade the number 11 pick. it going to be in demand especially if the Bills brass plays their cards close to the vest and keeps the rest of the league guessing as to what they will do at 11. Most teams do not want to be in the top ten. 11 is another story.
  22. Last year they could not stop the run or the pass. Harvey is a great run stuffer and a very good pass rusher. Even if we do not take him at 11. I want other teams to think we are going to take him for sure. They will be lining up to make a trade for that number 11 pick and they will all want to draft Harvey. Personaly I think Harvey could be gone by 11 such is the demand for DL. You can bet your butt we will not get to take a DL that high next year because we will not have a pick to get a top one.
  23. What you have identified is that there are valuable players drafted in every round in this draft. It looks very deep. I expect there will be 8-10 players who will make the Bills from this draft.
