  1. If Smith becomes an unrestricted FA like Peters then what the hey!
  2. "potential to be a great middle linebacker" Like Dick Butkus great? How about good to very good?
  3. Yes I would not take Cook at 11. I want a Pass rusher at that spot.
  4. Pettigrew's college production was not that great either - there is a TE in this draft that caught 111 passes this year. Pettigrew 40 time was worse than it looked because the split time was slow. That 7 yard pass he caught in college is 3-4 yards in the Pros. He does have ball skills which are a great asset. The coach made a comment about the guys who can get down field he said they are better blockers than they look because they force respect from the defenders. One misstep and they are gone. The argument for Pettigrew is that he can catch the short pass and block but he will not stretch the field for you. Gronkowski can do that an maybe give you more stretch. The key question is if you do draft Pettigrew how are you going to improve your pass rush? if you draft a DE or rush LB number 1 you can improve your rush and still come back and get a TE who is much better than what we have now in the 2nd 3rd or 4th or perhaps even lower round. You can use your second and third to get a Center and a TE. This is a very deep TE draft much better than last year. It's a poor DE draft and an average Center draft. Guys Like Phillips, Gronkowski and and Sperry will be available in the 4th and 5th rounds The drop off is not that great. If a player is available who can rush the passer at 11 you have to take him.
  5. Mack and Conner Barwin look good maybe Casey- lot of choices at TE in the 3rd.
  6. Mack and Conner Brown look good maybe Casey- lot of choices at TE in the 3rd.
  7. The Bills are talking situational pass rusher. He is very raw only one year as a DE. He could be a guy who plays on passing downs as a rookie and by his second or third year really comes on
  8. I agree, but check out the numbers on Connor Barwin he was the man at this combine 4.66 40 even more more impressive shuttle 4.18 no one else even close to that! and cone time best as well. The best athlete DE at the combine. plus a 10 8" broad jump and the best vertical. He has good power numbers. Only played Defense one year and had 11 sacks and 16 TFL.
  9. Add Conner Barwin Cincinatti - He lit it up at the combine.
  10. Cook's college production was very good admittedly not great at a school where the QB was not the greatest and the running game was not good. You cannot ignore the numbers Cook he put up at the combine. 40 inch vertical he is already 6' 5" Huge Hands and long arms. The guy is gettingup there big time. He can catch he is an excellent receiver. Look at his shuttle and cone times very strong. In contrast Pettgrew did not even run all the shuttle and cone drills. When he did his numbers were not as good as Gronkowski'd and not close to Cook's . Check stats at Football future. Tight ends. Check Milehighreport.com/combine for information on how the pro scouts evaluate talent based on the combine numbers. Cook's combine compares favoribly to any one who has come out in the last 5 years maybe longer.
  11. It could happen! or we could trade out of the 11 spot.
  12. Jared Cook moved into the 1st Round. Pettigrew now is at the bottom of the first round maybe early second. . Smith (LT Alabama dropping like a stone). Crabtree may have moved out of the top ten. Sanchez may also have dropped out of the top 10. Mack did not run???
  13. I will because they will have done it without Lynch for the first four games.
  14. It was Joe Ferguson who got them to change the helmet to the red color.
  15. I saw it already. It's a Buffalo impaled on the CN tower.
  16. It's raining TE's in this draft. The Bills have many needs. Why take Pettigrew at 11? Threre are 3 TE' sthat have the same athletic ability and both Nelson and Jared Cook, and Casey are better deep threats. We could get one in the 2-4th round that would imporve the team as much or more if you are looking for a down the field guy. Pettigrew is not any better as an athlete than Gronkowski who will likely be around unitl the 4th or 5 th round or lower I would hate Pettigrew at pick 11. Use pick 11 somewhere else. Like DE or LB (Pass Rushing) or DT. Or trade out of the spot. I would not mind Pettigrew at pick 28. Yes I do think he will be there at 28 and if not. Oh Well. Were stuck with Jared Cook who has the potential to be a perennial pro bowl guy. If need by I would have no problem Waiting around until the 4th round for a TE.
  17. Hey draftnik's check out the archive links on the Mile High Draft Report. Those Denver fans have their act together. It demonstrates how you diferentiate Straight line Speed vrs football speed. Speed vrs quickness. Athletic power versus just bench press numbers. How the scouts use the the combine numbers and a lot of other information. Gronkowski certainly improved his draft stock with his overall preformance. Also demonstrates the minimum numbers that players need to achieve to hold their draft evaluations. Example Pettigrew probably did not hurt himself enough to drop out of the first round because he ran the minimum time for a TE. 4.85. Minimum reps on the bench is 22. Pretty Cool. www.milehighreport.com see archives know your combine.
  18. No there are too many TE options. I might do it for 3rd round Pick and an expendable player like Roscoe.
  19. He would have to take a 500% paycut if he did.
  20. Jared Cook as well!
  21. Bust is too strong a word for Pettigrew. I agree that he is not worth the 11th pick I like Nelson, Cook and Casey as well as Pettigrew. i still like Pascoe in the mid rounds but he is not going to stretch the field.
  22. Nelson is at least as fast as Hardy. Liking him a lot right now.
  23. Dan Gronkowski 6" 6" 28 reps only weighs 255. Probably can play 268 -270 or so long arms 34+ big hands Pettigrew almost 6' 6" long arms and big hands Pascoe close to Pettigrew size and reach No number for bench Casey a lot smaller at 6' 3" short arms only 30" - could be a typo though they only have his hands at 3". Nelson good size at 6" 5" only 19 on the bench though. Vertical and speed will be real interesting. Of course ball skills, route running and the will to win trump all of the above.
