  1. Murphy mumbled during the 6 pm sports that Sanders "might" be named the Defensive coordinator. He just kind of slipped it in there. yeah I know ....
  2. No free agent is coming here. We have no QB and no OL.
  3. I agree that Brady has a better arm now than this evaluation would indicate. I think most players get stronger as they mature into their NFL Prime. I think Arm strength is a factor but it's just one of many factors that need to be used in evaluating a QB. My opinion is that LeFevour has adequate arm strength to play here and it will be better two years from now than it is now.
  4. The Sporting News Feb 2, 2004 Re Tom Brady "....WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal quickness. Forces the ball into coverage at times and tries to make too much happen. Doesn't have ideal arm strength; some of his downfield passes sail. Doesn't get great velocity on his vertical passes."
  5. Quote from the Sporting News Feb 2, 2004 re Tom Brady "...WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal quickness. Forces the ball into coverage at times and tries to make too much happen. Doesn't have ideal arm strength; some of his downfield passes sail. Doesn't get great velocity on his vertical passes...." Would you take Brady for a Buffalo QB?
  6. college). Does it say Brady had a strong Arm? or just leave it blank. How can you evaluate a QB without commenting on arm strength? Clearly he does have a stong arm now.
  7. Agreed if you want a 3-4 you need to evolve into it. We did not even have 3 startomg quality linebackers last year let alone 4. The ones we have were too small for a 3-4. The Bills do not have the personnel to do it in one season.
  8. The Rap on Tom Brady - "Lacks arm strength" that is why he was a mid round pick. Good News maybe LeFevour will be there in the third round now! Because with a good Senior Bowl week he was not going to last out of the second round.
  9. Ok I will bite, who do you have in mind for the number 9 pick?
  10. Pike, LeFevour, Brown, Tebow if he lasts past round one, all in the 2-4 th round are worth the risk.
  11. Your comments are correct I don't think that Brown ever blocked. I do agree that Gilchrist was a better all around player than Brown ( Gilchrist might have been an even better LB than a FB. ) My comments were directed to Brown as a ball carrier. I really wish we could have seeen the Championship Bills of the early 60's against the likes of the Giants, Browns, Colts Packers, Bears and Eagles. of the same era. Now that would have been fun.
  12. Congrats, The Jets had a great run and i do believe that they will be in the big game soon. I really like the Rex Ryan and Brian S. combo. I think Rex is a fierce competitor but he is gracious in victory and in defeat. The Ryans are a credit to the game of football. But I knew that from Buddy's early years at the University of Buffalo!
  13. Agreed Saban and Gilchrist need to be honored.
  14. I treated it like..." If me and Buster were hanging on the edge of a cliff who would you save first...?"
  15. If your family does not come before the Bills than I would suggest to you that you have your priorities seriously out of place.
  16. You really cannot compare the two of them because they were very different backs. Gilchrist may have been the greatest power fullback that ever played. Think Larry Czonka only more dominant. Brown played fullback but there has never been a fullback like him. He could run like a tail back when he wanted. In any discussion about the greatest fullback of all time there is no question that Gilchrest belongs in the conversation. Jim Brown was a unique player in the history of the game. It is not likely we will see anyone we can compare him to again. In the era that he played the combination of his speed and power relative to the competition created a mismatch. (corrected post)
  17. The fact that we are posting about Kafka is indicative of how shallow this class of QB's is.
  18. They would have been one of the worst OL's in the league regardless of injuries. Demetrius Bell is your LT, A rookie or Bell will start next year at LT. No outstanding LT free agent is coming. If that is stupid then I am stupid but I will bet most in the league agree with me.
  19. Rothlesberger, Leftwhich, Pennington. Playing in the MAC will not hurt him past the top half of Round one. I think he will be the number 3 rated QB come the draft. He will not be there when the Bills draft in Round 3 but if he is it's a bonus.
  20. The East - West Game is being played today at 3 Pm. My guess is that most of the NFL coaches are there including the Bills. Next week is senior Bowl week. The Senior Bowl has most of the bigger Stars. Second day- third day picks are more likely to be at the East West game.
  21. Neither Bradford or Claussen would finish the season with the Bills. Both are candidates for IR if drafted by the Bills.
  22. As reported by Murphy on the six o'clock news. Does anyone have any inside info on this?
  23. Nice work. I like it!
  24. Do we really care what Sully thinks? the importnat things are: Who fills out the coaching spots? and hat does out scouting department look like in terms of quality and numbers of scouts? Are their free agents who are willing to sign here? Sully is just another one of us he does not know anything about football.
  25. I believe the Bills will get worse before they get better. I do not like the Nix hire at GM or the Chan Galey hire. That being said I pledge perosnally that I will give him three years to establish a winning record before I start calling for their heads. I do believe they have not bottomed out yet they will get worse before they get better. I will criticize when warranted but I will not call for a house cleaning. Also everyone does not have to agree with me that is what a message board is for.
