  1. Likely they will both wind up in Indy. The Bills don't seem too supportive of the UB Program.
  2. I agree, although in the 4-3 they do drop in coverage occasionally. If he can't handle DE mentally he will never be a LB!
  3. I have been saying this for a while but actually I am happy about it. As fans it is important to keep this attitude into the draft and into free agency. We can't fill every need in one draft or free agent period and it is very important for the long term success of this team that they do not try to. They need to draft the best players available within limits of course. This year it's imperative that they get big men on both sides of the ball. OL and Front 7 on D. If they can pick up a free agent QB or a second or third day draft pick to ad to the mix great. If not then let's take our medicine this year and go for a top QB in next years draft.
  4. I do understand that race is always an issue in the U.S.A. but in this case I think you are taking it too far. Most people Black or white judging from the sale of Jerseys do not have a problem worshiping athletes regardless of color. I do think people make assumptions about athletes based on race. I have a problem with Lynch on my roster not really because of the near crimes he has committed most of which are not tragic in nature but because he seems to be teetering on an the NFL fence. One more infraction and he is suspended for a long time. I don't see him changing his behavior which tells me he just might not be there when we need him. Perhaps that is why the Bills did not tender Incognito?
  5. That is funny!
  6. I am just worried about passing for 100 yards against the Jets now. I don't think we can do it!
  7. He definitely grew up in Cali.
  8. It does not get the Bills organization off the hook. No one on the board has the resources that the "professionals" and I use that term very loosely, in the Bills front office have. Maybin has better show up for all the OTA's or the fans will run him out of town. Playing DE is easy compared to playing linebacker from the mental aspect.
  9. Yet another player long on talent and short on commitment. Cashed his check and mailed it in. Makes me want to sign more high motor guys!
  10. I love Iaputi as a player and yes you could make him your short yardage NT- and in the future who knows maybe that is his home. He is a safe pick because if all else fails he will be come a pro bowl guard. The center of your line could become Wood Incognito and Iaputi. I would be very comfortable with those three especially since the AFC east has some outstanding NT's who need to be neutralized. If we are going to be a WC or a Pistol offense than the short passing game with short drops by the QB is more important than the 5-7 step drops the long ball requires. As long as the QB can step up in the pocket you can get the short pass off. The pressure from inside kills the short passing game. Also Iaputi can play tackle in the event of injury and might turn out to be a LT or RT eventually. let's get some great linemen in here who love to hit people and really want to play ball.
  11. I would be very happy with Trent Williams at 9.
  12. They interviewed Claussen just in case. I like Iaputi here or possibly Campbell he is the best Athlete and or trade down or a combination of the above. The skill at being a good GM is to be flexible.
  13. I have seen Lefevour play multiple times in person and on TV. He has plenty of arm strength.
  14. Good observations with linemen motivation for a first rounder is a must. Campbell will move up because of the combine stats but it's got to translate on to the field or it's just wasted. I would avoid Davis and I think Nix will. Okung, Bulaga, Williams with the 9th pick or trade out of it.
  15. I would not get too wrapped up in what these guys say pre draft. They did meet with Claussen and I suspect what they do is far more important than what they say.
  16. Davis could be the second coming of Mike Williams.
  17. I agree I think he will be an all pro for the next ten years.
  18. Maybe the Bills need to take another look at Joel Bell who signed with the Rough Riders of the CFL after he was cut in training camp last year. Bell had an outstanding year with them and played in the Grey Cup game. He is huge, fast and smart.
  19. You hit it right on the head we need two more good Offensive lineman at least one of whom can play LT. It really does not matter if Bell could eventually become a starting LT or not. If that does not happen we won't have enough minimal blocking to get the offense to function at all.
  20. A little of both. I really like the way Gil Brandt does it. Brandt does not rank players 1,2,3,4. He ranks them in groups of 5 or ten. Top 5 picks the next group of 10 picks the next group of 10 picks. You pick for need within each group unless there is a tremendous drop off. It makes a lot of sense. Who can say the 10 th rated player is better than the 11th or the 50th player is better than the 51st rated player. Brandt has been very successful as a personnel man and a GM so I will take his word for it.
  21. The Redskins are drafting ahead of the Bills in case anyone has noticed. They the Bills were awful and the Redskins were terrible. I watched them play once this year and I thought the rush to their QB was a track meet not a football game.
  22. Only the most optomistic will expect him to be of much help this season. My opinion is that his career is in serious doubt and if he is able to play it will be in 2011.
  23. Perhaps in the future Buddy Nix can draft guys who actually want to play football for a living. That may leave out the OT from Rutgers who apparently has a problem with motivation.
  24. I do not see Bell as a RT unless we are committed to a Left handed QB. I want a very strong run blocker as a RT. Most teams run to the strong (right) side most often you want your best run blocker there. A guy like Bulaga or Iaputi.
  25. Except my QB is a lefty.
