You have it exactly right. Spiller was the best player available to the Bills. He is as close to a sure thing as it gets. He can be used in multiple ways that give them help right now. He is not only running help but receiving help. Running backs have the least difficult time of any position adjusting to the NFL. All that being said I would have loved to see a LT, NT, DE, OLB at number 9. None were deemed worthy at 9 and no trade was available so we will live with it. Remember they are multiple drafts away from being a contender the other positions of need will have to wait until later in the draft or perhaps one or two years down the road.

Did the Bills even interview Maybin before the draft? I think not! Whether this is Maybin or not the fact is that the Bills drafted an immature player who they had trouble signing which is a front office disaster that should rest squarely on the shoulders of last years front office. This will be an early test of the ability of this new organization to judge character. The Bills have many needs and it will do no good to have player hold out in training camp. The process of vetting should screen for this. The top three guys have to want to be in camp early to succeed as football players. The Maybin holdout last year was the organizations fault for drafting him. They really did not properly judge his maturity level before the draft. Let's not have a repeat of a signing fiasco. I want Iupati on my team and I would take him at 9 but I would try to trade down a few spots first. The only linemen I would take before Iupati are Bulaga or Okung. I suspect they both will be gone. the combo of Iupati and Wood would make the Pistol or Wildcat formation a formidable threat.

I would try to trade down and if I could not I would draft a the Nose Tackle D Williams. I wold not draft Davis if he was there at 9 either.
