  1. Your a little full of yourself aren't you? Nix has a lot to prove if he is going to be a real GM. I agree he knows football but he is not a leader and I don't believe he has much authority or cash available to him to make the kind of deals he would need to make to really improve this team.
  2. The BillS beat the Dolphins and then beat the Pats or Jets on the road. If one victory is a win at jets will be even bigger. That would mean they at least split the Division. I really don't care about the playoffs this year, they would be one and done anyway. I really think that would be very good progress over last year.
  3. You made an excellent point here Bear. Outstanding centers on championship teams tend to be Iron men. I think Wood is our best lineman but Centers have to stay in the lineup. Guys like Kent Hull and Alex Webester come to mind. It's not Eric Woods fault some guys are injury prone. An ACL for a big man is a huge problem.
  4. Anyone on this board could have picked Dareus. It's very tough to blow the third overall pick in the draft. Spiller? Brad Smith? Merriman? WTF? This front office has a lot to prove next year. I Promised I would not call for Nix's head until next year but if I was forced to make that decision today he would not be here.
  5. The Bills have shown very good progress the first half of the season. The playoffs are about winning in November. Any repeat of what you saw on Sunday and the Playoff talk will end very quickly.
  6. Phil Simms says the Bills were intimidated. I actually think he was right. They are not worried at all about the Bills this season.
  7. Chandler?
  8. Yep very good indeed. This is chief talent scout stuff. No one ever questioned Nix's ability in a Personnel or chief scout role. The GM part is very different. Nix has shown very little as a GM.
  9. I will be voting for Chris Collins.
  10. The best thing that Nix has done to date is to sign Gailey. I have not been impressed by Nix's moves to date. I do not believe that Nix has the power to spend money. Money matters are reserved to Litmus (sic), Overdork (sic) and the old man. They are 4-2, far better than I expected. Nix certainly deserves some credit. When they signed him I promised to give him 3 years so he has more tune to do his thing. The fact that Maybin has been three times better than Merriman does not look very good. Maybe Spiller will make all pro or Darius will beat out Cam for rookie of the year. Right now both of those things look pretty unlikely. Then there is next years draft. I would love for Nix to change my mind about him.
  11. I agree 14 years is a long time to play Pro Football add his high school college and Pop Warner type football and your getting close to 25+ years of the game. We don't know how he is physically. Perhaps he the Kent Hull situation struck a cord with him. The longevity issues in football are of great concern to me. I think the league has to address it some way. Perhaps the NFL career should be shorter especially for Linemen and front seven guys. We Live in a time when many people are living into their 80's and 90;s with good health and at the same time ex NFL players are dying in their 50's. There is something seriously wrong here.
  12. You are absolutely correct they are exceeding my expectations by a ton and the fact that they had a chance to win against a better team on the road in the last minute says a lot about their future. They need a handfull of better players at some positions. Fitzpatrick did not have a great game today but I love the scheme and they do have heart. Can Fitz win in the cold weather? Were going to find out very soon.
  13. Let's see how they do today most of these guys are starting because we have run out of bodies.
  14. The O line got smacked in the mouth today and they didn't respond well.
  15. Fitz did look confused on the sidelines. They got outplayed today no question. If you look at the New England and Oakland games they did have some luck to win both of those. On paper they are not a great team. Having said all that sure they can make the playoffs but it is not going to be a easy ride, it never is. They are not as good as they looked against New England and they are not as bad as they played today. If they do finish 8-8 I will be happy. If they get 9 wins I will be delighted and 10 or more I will be dreaming.
  16. Do you want Fitzpatrick at 3-0 making tackles? If he goes down for the season would you still applaud his decision? Brady did the smart thing the Pats are still in the hunt for the playoffs. If Brady goes down the Pats are in the same spot as the Colts.
  17. I deon't think Brandon has much to do with the financial decisions that is up to Wilson Oberdorf and Littman. That being said the Bills will be sold within a few years and they have an opportunity to become a Billion dollar franchise if they are a playoff team at the time of the sale. I believe that is the goal they are working toward and if they happen to win a Super Bowl in the process all the better.
  18. You have to wonder just how much the value of this franchise will increase if they continue winning and become a contender. More importantly for the fans will the Bills become more aggressive in retaining players? The team is likely to have new ownership within a few years. Will the value of a winning franchise become more important than having a low payroll and expense ratio? if Ralph's money guys are so sharp they might just believe that this franchise can sell for 1 Billion +.
  19. I always liked Chan, I am still not convinced on Nix. I will reserve jusdement on him to the end of the season. I never thought they would beat the Patriots though. You can count me wrong on that. I am glad of it!
  20. And it would be a good thing if Fitzpatrick wound up on IR for the rest of the season after going 3 and 0? Brady is a smart guy and he made the right decision.
  21. No question about it. Not scoring was way better than scoring. I did want the Bills to get a TD though. As it turns out Chan played it just right. That is why he is the coach and I am a spectator.
  22. You just said it. You have to get hits on the QB without the Blitz to beat the Pats. The problem is that the Pats have an outstanding O line.
  23. Sounds like a can't miss event to me. Thanks for the tip!
  24. You got it right. The Bills should be auditioning WR's every opportunty. Perhaps they are in a position to start talks with some noted free agents out there.
  25. I liked this kid since his college days. He is maturing into a top flight WR.
