They are not going to fire Nix there is no reason for it. Nix has a lot of friends and contacts in the league. The Bills have a bad reputation around the league already. Nix will retire or move to another role if it involves him. The silence out of one Bills drive is interesting, somethings cooking. Unfortunately the three headed monster Wilson, Overdorf, and littman seem to be untouchable. It's a Medussa like group that kills any chance of success.

No one but Gailey is talking at one Bills Drive. I wonder if that means anything? No Wilson, No Nix, No Brandon, Littman and Ovrdork never talk so they don't count. I am sure that Gailey and Nix lobbied for into extending Fitz and Pears. Both have been horrid since they signed, combined with the Merriman signing, You have wonder if Nix/Gailey have any credibility left with the ownership group. If not, look for an accelerating downhill spiral for this franchise.

Thurman blocked and blocked well.

So when is CJ going to, "figure out". how to block the oncoming blitzers?

There is such a thing as reaching. If the player you covet is not there you trade out for more picks or players. New England does It appears to work pretty well for them. If you can't trade out for the value you believe to be there you draft the best available player with less regard to position. I did not write with no regard for position I wrote with less regard for position. The Bills need a dozen players, it will not be difficult to do that.

Not saving a roster spot for an injury prone small guy. They have Nelson, Spiller, Naaman who can play the slot. I also would rather a second tight end on the field. Let him go.

What Happens If They Can't Resign Steve Johnson?

So are you going to buy Marcus Easley as his replacement and be content with them signing some UDFA to upgrade the receiving corps? -
Performance against Expectations
Trader replied to VirginiaMike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am about where you are on this. I did not expect much and I got what I expected. The way the wins were distributed though did surprise me. I realy do not like the situation that they are in right now. Right now the Bills are undermanned at every posiiton and they are being out coached to boot. I do like the way Chan Gailey handles the x's and o's and the way he deals with fundamentals. The guy really knows the game. I am not sure he is great at the motivational part though. We are going to find out the next three games. -
Cj Spiller is an awful pass blocker. He has a history of fumbling, he does not follow his blocks and he drops passes. He is pretty fast. He is a pure luxury on this team. Spiller is the situational player not an every down back.

Fitz Has Possibly Had A Broken Rib Since Toronto?
Trader replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's possible. His arm is not that of an NFL starter and he really has to wind up to get anything on the ball. I actually think he might be injured and perhaps he is unable to lift. Could be arm, elbow, wrist, sholder or ribs. -
Wish Fitz would grow his game more than his beard
Trader replied to Mr. T's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree ,. he needs to start looking like a multi millionaire QB. I also think he has an injury. His arm strength is gone unless he winds up. -
They had a great GM in Bill Polian they made blockbuster trades (Bennett) they signed great free agents (Lofton) they had a front office that was not totally inept.

I would like tohe Bills to revisit this guy in the off season. Played in the CFL and with the Las Vegas Locomotive the last two years. He is huge and looked pretty athletic to me. His big problem was that he had not played a lot of football or at a high level coming into the pros. I hope the Bills bring him in for a workout in the off season.
-
This is the kind of signing the Bills have had some success with. I like it and they really need a great receiving tight end to complement Chandler. Let's see what a full camp can do for him. I hope it is the start of a great off season for Buffy Nix.

If Bills go 5-11, does Buddy get fired?
Trader replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed! I think the Bills will need an outstanding offseason to sell tickets next year. My sense is that the fans have run out of patience with this franchise. -

Trader replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have not been impressed with Buddy Nix to date but... It's too early to fire him. You have to give him another draft and free agency period. Especially because the rest of the front office and ownership is so pittiful inept and incompetent. Nix and Gailey were hired by default because the Bills leadership is one of the NFl's worst. No one of note wanted this situation. If Nix get's run off too early it will send another negative message. That being said they really need to crank up efforts on all fronts to do better. They have to hit on 80% of their draft choices and sign two meaningfull free agents. They need to resign Johnson and Jackson or get better value in return. If they work out deals. They also need to get more -
Luxury Pick, Bust, Average at best
Trader replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will question it they could have had a better running back later in the draft. Spiller has some talent but he fumbles and he drops passes. Spiller should not have been drafted by the Bills. There were greater needs elsewhere. We had Jackson and Lynch we gave a high first for Spiller and traded Lynch for a mid round pick. I would rather have Jackson, Lynch and a stud OL, DL or LB. -
Santonio Holmes bashes the Bills

They don't really have a choice do they? -
Bad Drafting, Bad Coaching or Both?
Trader replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You get it. It starts at the top. Someone in the leadership must have decided that if Maybin was going to get the cash he had to play every down. Maybin can't do that but he can rush the passer on third and long. Of course the Bills D seldom creates third and longs but that is another issue. The Bills organization is INEPT and that is far worse than cheap. The Steelers and Packers are also cheap but they are not inept. It starts at the top ... the top .. the top. Was it Edwards call to cut Maybin? I doubt it. -
Do the bills have the best O-line in the NFL?
Trader replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He makes his reads very quickly Ryan commented on it before the game. It's a strength and it's also a weakness which he explioted the first game. In the second not so much. The O Line needs help especially at OT. They need two players there. Perhaps Bell, Hariston and Pears will develop but they have a ways to go. -
Come on Man they played really well they were in it until the last play. The Jets are a better team than the Bills. The Bills were a nine point underdog going into the game.

I think It's great to have it up here. When you post something really bad you need to own it forever! -
Yes, I may be clinically insane.

There are other goals that are equally important as the playoffs this year. A sweep of the Pats or running the games on the table. Even a finish with a winning record would go a long way. Actually I would be happy if they played every game as well as they played today. If they are in the game until the last play I would be Ok this year. -
Spiller is not the guy to be an every down back. They should never have drafted him at the number 9 spot. I do think he could do well as a change of pace and very explosive back if he had an outstanding offensive line in front of him and he was pared with a big back (220 - 245 lb punishing runner to share the load).
