They have some good players and some very good players many of whom have serious injury issues. Bell has had Microfracture knee surgery and he played in a total of 16 games in two seasons. Wood was hurt in college and he has had serious injuies in two of his pro years.
I might, I think that Luck will be a good pro but I don't know that he is the next Manning. Luck has two all americans who will be drafted in the first round and a very good TE. He also is in a dominant running offense. Most of his passes come off play action. He has not faced a lot of pressure from defenses. He does have a strong and accurate arm.
On a team like the bills he would struggle to get to 8-8 his first year. I want to see them head to head at the combine. Right now in my mind they are in a dead heat. I do like the fact that RG3 put Baylor on his back and carried them to a great season.
Once again, "to all the you gotta have a partner people" did you notice that the value chart changes from time to time? It's because the innovators are changing it all the time. You can stay with the pack or you can run in front of the pack. The Bills with only a few years excepted have always liked to run with the pack and they have finished more often than not well into the bottom half of the pack instead of leading it.
He needs more than 1.5 seconds to throw the ball. Once the Bills are in a passing situation other teams just tee off on us and Fitz just flings it into coverage hoping his receiver can win the battle. The problem is part him and and general Pass blocking, Fred jackson's injury made pass blocking worse. Fitz needs to be more diciplined and he needs an LT. Pass blocking help could also come from a second TE, a stronge CJ spiller. Using McIntyre more or another big back. When they go into that 4 wide spread it becomes a sprint to the QB and Fitz just launches it It's a 50-50 proposition at that point.
Just watched Michigan State every lineman had one on. I can't speak for all programs I know that UB used them early in the year. Ol do not seem to be hindered by them I would think that the prevention of one or two injuries would justify it.
The Bills O line was very banged up this year but could have been far better if they did not have so many games where they were inserting new guys into the lineup. How about next year they all wear knee braces? Some of those injuries might have been prevented. More wins might have been possible.
You have it right. I do not think that Johnson has any intention of being here next year and this was his boorish way of letting the world know it. Johnson is as good as gone. It also puts the Bills management of making a self absorbed malcontent their franchise player. Basicaly he put himself in a position to be un franchised.
Actually your wrong winning is down the list a ways. They care about their payday first, their image second, their parent(s) wives, girlfriends, cars, homes, vacations, clothes. Their friends, team and fans are somewhere on the list.
Excellent post. The draft is the most important way to acquire talent but it should not be the only way. And yes you need to draft BPA (that fits your system) For further explanation read Gil Brandt's draft philosophy. Trade out of the spot is often necessary. I think the Bills GM's have been afraid to do this. Doing anything else puts you in the position of drafting Torelle Troup instead of Dan Grankowski and we all know how that worked out.
If Running back is the BPA when you draft you trade out of it or pickt the BPA . And I really do not want to hear that you need a partner. New England does it with regularity. You have to try. I believe that the bills try but not hard enough and when they do they are not very good at it (see the Lynch and Evans trades).
I will second that Jacobs is my kind of running back. Especially late in the season. What many fans do not appreciate is the toll tackling a guy like that takes out on the defense especially the defensive backs.
Unless you have a really big guy at Running back you need to play two of them. Spiller is a small running back. He will not be able to lug it 30 times a game for 19 seasons. It;s never going to happen. No NFL successful team operates with just one back anymore and if hey do the guy is a horse. When Jackson declines, hopefully slowly, Spiller will pick up more carrys. My guess is that next year it will be more like 50-50.
Agree! A meaningful win against a playoff contender. Next week, not so much. I think Brady makes a cameo and then we get to see his successor in that nasty dynasty.
