  1. I love Upshaw's toughness. The guy arrives with force. He has a second pro day and I would like to see him run prior to the draft. If he can't run he is going to be considered injured. I would get him in for a doctors evaluation and if he passes he just could be there early in round 2.
  2. I do think they will upgrade from Thigpen. Either by the draft or free agency. My guess is that it's Wilson from Wisconsin. Yes I know he is too short but he has the strongest arm of the mid to late round QB's dHe is very smart and elusive. He fits Gailey's system. He looks like a very good career backup to me.
  3. I am going to give both Ralph and Nix a strong vote of support here. This is the kind of move I have been waiting for from Nix. It is much more significant than the signing of one player. The Williams signing means that this organization is dedicated to becoming a force in the AFC EAST!! Kudos!
  4. Nix made a statement regarding Coples when he signed Mario Williams. If he thought Coples could play he would not have signed Williams for 50 mil guaranteed. I do not think they will draft Coples.
  5. The draft is loaded with outstanding 3-4 defenders.
  6. I guess we see two different things. I saw two sacks a whole bunch of QB pressures. I also saw a player who plays hard every down. On the negative side he got pancaked once (tendency to play a little high methinks). He was taken to the ground on another play and run on for a first down once. A&M did score a touchdown on a short run but I thought he filled his gap pretty well. This guy is not a perfect player but I did not see athletic shortcomings. We are are talking about a guy that could be gotten for sure with a mid to late second round pick, perhaps later. He could use some NFL coaching for sure. If the combine numbers test anything it's pure athletic ability. I respectfully submit that his numbers in the 40, shuttles and bench compare favorably with the top players in the draft. He is also pretty long. If is not an athlete then I would like to know what standard you are holding him to?
  7. I was being a little sarcastic but mostly truthfull. Hardy never had great speed, never got separation, even in college. The only reason Hill did not have a ton of receptions is that Georgia Tech seldom threw it.
  8. The truth is that no one is going to cover Gronkowski if the pass is perfectly thrown. You can only hope he drops it, the QB has an errant throw or the QB and receiver miscommunicate. You can cover him closely to make a play if one of those things happen but why would you pick Kuelchy at 10 when you can get Kendricks in the second or third round? It's a classic case of a guy who is open even when he is covered.
  9. Jake Bequette DE - check his combine numbers on football's future. Projected 3 or 4th round but his numbers look as good as anyones. 23 Sacks during his career at Arkansas.
  10. He is already better than James Hardy and we spent a second rounder on him.
  11. Daruis and Poe and you can only double team one of them means Tom Brady retires early. You have it exactly right
  12. not in the top 3 linebackers in this draft.
  13. Poe moved into the top ten . I think Upshaw has moved out of the top ten. I think Coples will be there at 10 I hope we pass on him or trade out of the pick.
  14. So did Mercillis In theis order I want Poe Mercilus at pick 10. Perry (not at 10) reserve judgement on Upshaw but he is dropping Couples - no thanks unless he shows up in the third round. I remember Patulski, Dokes and Flowers Kendricks (LB Cal)- is a beast maybe top 15 - I would hate that guy in the AFC East. I would want Kendricks and Poe drug tested thoroughly they are juts too athletic to be true. Not just strength and speed either Their over athletic ability in the drills - Phenominal!
  15. Re hands: Russell Wilson 10 1/4 inches- bigger than RG 111 and Adrew Luck's No wonder he throws such a nice ball. At 5'10 1/2 inches tall he must look all hand.
  16. I agree, what I got from it is that there is some talent in the first round but he or they may or may not be there at 10. There is more second and mid round talent at DE so it's possible to do as you suggest or wait and get 1 or 2 pass rushers in the second and later rounds.
  17. Great site thanks. How about Cordy Glen? He had a great senior bowl week shutting down everyone he faced. The guy is enormous 6'5, 345 35 3/4 arm length 10 1/8" hands 4.96 40 31 bench with those length arms are you kidding me? vert 23.5 shuttles 5.00 8.13 broad 93. His 3 cone and short shuttle are sub average for a LT but this guy probably should play at 320-330 lbs. Can't you see him keeping Fitz clean and blasting holes for Fred and CJ? Reiff looks great as well he ran a 1.71 ten yard split. Kalil beat him by one one hundreth of a second. I think there are three pro bowl LT's in this draft.
  18. I will answer this after the full combine results are in.
  19. I liked his interview a lot. He is hungry, like a lot of immigrants. I don't think it's a," take the money and run", situation with him. The one year wonder cliche' is a getting tiresome. There are plenty of examples on both sides of the argument. It's an issue but you do not pick at 10 based on a single factor.
  20. I think I have seen this movie before! :
  21. This could be an interesting choice. If you think in terms of getting four big lineman who can dominate the line of scrimmage beat the guy in front of them and not worry about who is a DT and who is a DE. To make this choice the combine numbers would be very important. The key would be can the player run a 4.8 40 and be better than average of his position rivals in the short shuttle, and jumps. Perhaps not worry so much about how many sacks the guy has with college players and playing with different schemes.
  22. I think, it's Ingram or Upshaw in the first. Marcillis (spelling) or Devon Still are the dark horses. The combine Forty times and short shuttle and Jumps are key for DE if he they have a great combine it's going to change the result. Coples does not show any love of the game. We have drafted guys like that in the past with disasterous results. A guy with Mayock's rep does not come out that strong on a player unless he knows something.
  23. it's a qualified yes. Ralph is always at the Bills table on draft day so I do think he picks the first player. If the other guys hated it then I do think he would back off. But they won't stand their ground with a player that might have a high upside. RB's, especially very fast ones are "safe" pick. So are fast DB's. Spiller needed to produce the second half of last season or the fans would be screeming for blood. Fortunately for the Bills management he bought himself another year. Ralph wanted to sell ticket's in Toronto and he wanted a flashy offensive pick. Also think about this. The few years in the Bills history that they have had any success at all they had a great or outstanding running back. Gilcrest, Simpson, Braxton- Cribbs, Thurman. The only year that I don't remember a great one was the second year they won the AFC championship. I think they traded Gilcrest for Billy Joe that year and he was hardly great. But they may have had the best D in all of football that year.
