I DVR it and run by the positions I am interested in a few times. I enjoy the post season almost as much as the regular season. Building a team is the most interesting thing about football.

Forgot about him . Yes Rogers would have to be in the conversation as well.
-
+2 The only other guys I would take ahead of him at this time would be: Luck, Kappernick, Possibly RG111 Newton or Wilson but I would have to think long and hard about it. Those guys are coming up Flacco is prime time now and he will be for years.

Bills' Worst Draft Ever...Try and Top this one
Trader replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the plus side look at 61-64. Whoever was in charge of the Bills drafts during those years really knew what they were doing. -
He reminds me of Bernie Kosar only not as good. He does flash a great throw now and then but this kid needs a lot of work.
-
Yes you have and you have done a very nice job of it!! What is your opinion of how New England drafts by Frequently trading down for more picks?
-
I think he is right about this one.

Landry jones dropped big time for me. Perhaps in the 5th round or later for him. I don't like any of them in the first but Manuel had a decent game. Tyler Wilson reminded me of Capt. Checkdown. Glennon has some talent but he will need one or more years of development, lots of similarity to Flacco. Nassib and Dysert are mid round picks they don't belong in the top two rounds or even the Third round.

Mayock: 3 or 4 QBs will go in first round
Trader replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least for the next two years the best QB in the bunch is Landry Jones. Long term who knows who it will be. I would take Jones number 1. -
I do think this is an important statistic. It could be the cause of a QB losing the ball when pressured or sacked and his ability to throw on the run. It could also be an underlying factor in a players arm strength or accuracy. Example, Tom Brady got better with coaching but if his underlying problem was lack of hand size maybe that would not have been possible.

completely off my board if this is true. -
Wow, I think he just fell off the board. Right into the free agent pond.

Mel Kiper's updated Big Board 1/9/13

I agree. I also think they could trade up to get Nassib if they thought he was going higher in the Late first or early second. I see them bringing two new QB's into camp. One could be a late pick or a FA . The high qb they draft this year just may wind up being a career backup and the real guy shows up next year where the prospects look much better. The defensive linemen and the LB's available at pick 8 look too good to pass up. Alternatively the Bills could trade down for a change Like New England does more often than not. They could really use three picks in the first two rounds. With the Chandler injury they do not have a starting TE for the beginning of the season. There are some good big Wr's out there also. DE, LB, QB, Safety, who plays nose guard when they go into the 3-4?. Troup is a long shot, Easly is a fail and Graham might be right behind him. Wow. they seem to have a ton of neeeds ,. Fitz could be around for another year. Nix and Whaley have a lot of work to do. The good news is that the coaching jobs are being filled early and they will have time to fully evaluate the options. -
I would have one Vet Qb, then I would draft one in the first or second round and one more in the 6th round (we do not have a 7th round choice). I see somone like Smith or Fitz as the Vet and Nassib or Jones or Boyd,or Glennon or Wilson as the high pick. Nick Florence should be there in the 6th round. I would make a starter decision by training camp. If the team were not in serious playoff contention by the bye week the coach needs to have the guts to make a change.

I agree he also looked good in finishing a win for Washington and in starting and beating the Browns. Shanahan lost a lot of respect by playing RG111 injured and when he obviously agrivated the injury against the Seahawks refusing to pull him from the game. Now he has a QB with a torn ACL going into next season, The league should suspend Shanahan for multiple games for failing to protect his player and putting winning ahead of a RG111's health.

Interesting that the Penn State Coach has not been in the Bills conversation at all. I could make a good guess as to why not!
-
In his interview he said he was 6' even. With his style of play it does not matter though his movement keeps him from getting a lot of passes batted. I counted one in this game. Jones who is 6' 4" had one also. Stationary QB's get balls batted more often no matter how tall they are. Defensive lineman are tall and are taught to Batt down the ball. A 6'4" Defensive End with a decent vertical will be able to batt a ball thrown by a 6'8" QB if he is standing right in front of him.

An Open Thread to Communicate with Russ Brandon

Kevin Sumlin!!!!! -
Yes I agree he is similar to a current NFL starter and a sure first ballot hall of famer. Here is the scouting report from that guy's draft class. "Lacks a really strong arm. Can't drive the ball down the field and does not throw a really tight spiral. System-type player who can get exposed if he must ad-lib and do things on his own."
-
They made the mistake when they traded up for Graham and that looks like a real blunder right now, but time will tell. I know hindsight is 20-20 but the Bills panicked when S. Hill got drafted by the Jets and Russel Wilson got taken in the third. I do think that the Bills wanted Hill, and (Wilson or Cousins) but they misjudged where those players got drafted and the 3rd-4th rounds of the draft fell apart for them.

I like him as well as anyone coming out. Washington spent a 4th round pick on him, We could give them a 2nd or a combo of picks.

Bills Free Agents After This Year and Next May Walk
Trader replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not think Levitre and Byrd will be back. Your concern is legit. The Patriots keep reloading and the Bills keep rebuilding. The Bills have lost ground in the AFC east. Only a new owner will solve the problem. Perhaps the fiscal cliff will work to our advantage here.
