You play to win the game and that should be your only concern. Why all the Fuss about Gill? Because UB was nowhere close to where they are now. They are competitive in their league and a couple players will probably play in the NFLl. They won their league and will play for the MAC championship. They're also going to a Bowl game. I know you probably want to be negative about the local team and you have to be convinced to root for the local school but a lot has been done with this program in just a few seasons.

I don't see how thigpen being a 7th round pick relates to reed/edwards. Was Thigpen covering reed or was he rushing Edwards? Yes the Chiefs are not a great team. But it is obvious that Edwards looks for Reed and him being in the lineup helps. I do wish he would have been able to hit more receivers in the absence of Reed.

I don't think we have drafted horribly but I do agreee with you when it come to trading up. When you trade up you have to be "spot on" with your picks-and your taking away the eventual building of depth at other positions. Stockpiling picks lets you build depth and also gives you more room for mistakes. If you 6-7 guys in the first four rounds and 1 or two of them don't work out its still ok. On the other hand if you trade up and have 4 or less picks in these rounds and 1 of them doesn't work out then its a bad draft. Have you noticed how the Patriots always seem to have 2 first round picks in the draft.

Royal has not been bad. He's a blocking TE and eh still excells at that. He is average as a receiver and we didn't sign him to be a receiving tight end. You can look at every GM and count half their moves as bad.

They continues to stack the box. we had to pass to move the ball, otherwise we would run into 9 man fronts. Also, he was building confidence for our offense and keeping our bad defense off the field today.
