  1. Could be a chance at revenge for Ralph for the last CBA negotiations
  2. I think there must be something to Mayock omitting the Bills from this report entirely. I'm thinking there's something about Newton that has turned Nix off. Mayock makes it pretty clear that he doesn't see Newton at #3 as an option.
  3. NFLPA wants a cap and I'm sure a good number of the owners support it as well...the Jones' of the world will never get the support to get rid of it.
  4. The question is if not Miller than who? Dareus will likely be off the board and if he isn't he'd likely be the pick anyway. Fairley has the same size and technique concerns as Miller does and he's got supposed attitude issues as well. Jordan might fit but is he really worth the #3 pick?
  5. Thanks for the link. No matter how much I am trying to let some of the guys around here convince me otherwise I can't help but be satisfied if Miller is the pick.
  6. Eh...there is always dead time in the NFL between the draft to training camp...the dead time may have just shifted for the offseason to the Super Bowl to the draft.
  7. Not to mention the fact that it would be totally out of P.K.'s character and style as a writer to make such a back-handed criticism...most of his criticisms are pretty direct.
  8. I thought this was funny when I saw this...no reason why you can't make light of the situation a little bit, especially when it is in good fun. Cover of Madden 2012
  9. So Brady, Manning, Brees are all malcontents?
  10. Link Looks like joining the union law suit won't affect his draft status.
  11. Problem solved! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/news/story?id=6216135
  12. Well with the whole NFL locked out, I think we're going to need a bigger boat.
  13. The problem I can't get around though in the fan argument is that it's not the players that are expendable. You make it sound like you would shell out hundreds of dollars a year to watch some 4th stringers start rather than Brady, Manning, etc. That's simply not true. The owners are the expendable ones...there are plenty of billionaires who have nothing better to do with their money than buy a football team...couple that with the fact that a franchise in the NFL runs successfully as a public stock option and I'd say it's the owners with a bloated sense of their worth in the process.
  14. Are your workers unions workers by any chance? Because if not it is basically apples and oranges. I'm not sure how people cannot understand this.
  15. Yeah, I think you guys who think saying "we are set at DT with Kyle and Troup" means that they wouldn't pick Fairley or Dareus are missing the point. He was clearly talking about base 3-4 NT's as opposed to hybrid DE/DT that our defense would use. Back to the point at hand, I don't see the issue with giving the kid a chance. If nothing else you have to love his attitude...he tweeted this shortly after the de-certification: TorellTroup torell troup Im not unemployed becuz my job is the weight room this off season anyway. Football will work it self out. So ill be at work bright and early
  16. But if owners don't want it to happen why wouldn't they all just not take part in free agency?
  17. I'm sure that Kraft will just use some of that money that he's "not making" and make this whole thing go away.
  18. Saprano is #87, behind you, me, Todd McShay and Elvis.
  19. Maybe a little closer to draft time? I seem to remember him posting the draft nuggets closer to the draft than a month and a half beforehand. Besides that there hasn't really been much other news to break besides CBA stuff, which he may not be privy to.
  20. Whitner can't negotiate with anyone besides Buffalo until a new CBA is agreed to. Mort specified that in a tweet earlier. Players can only negotiate with their own teams unless they were cut until the new deadline but they can not sign any deals after midnight tonight. So it's either he's re-signing with us or he's blowing smoke. I'm gonna go with the latter.
  21. I figured Atogwe and Sanders were off of the table for us any way once we re-signed Wilson, he's the same hybrid FS/SS type of player as them...we need to add one more true SS to the roster.
  22. As was Rolando McClain ahead of Spiller last season. I'm sensing a trend here...
  23. These next two days are going to be one big tease, a lot of cuts but no further negotiations after midnight tomorrow.
  24. I would imagine that visits are off for what appears to be a very long time.
  25. Is this necessarily true though when your corporation is employing union workers? Particularly the NFLPA, since there would be such a drop off in talent/production from the current union members to the non union members...I'd say it would be a heck of a lot easier for the NFLPA to form a new league with new owners than the current owners to continue the new league with a new union.
