No coach wins without players. Holland set the bar for the rest of the NHL with regard to finding Euros who could adapt to the North American game, that much is true. But since the cap has been in place Detroit has been coming back to the pack.
I give Babcock credit this season for pushing Tampa to the brink because his roster didn't match up well.
Which Stanley Cup winning franchise has a neutered GM and a coach with the power that's being alluded to? I'm all for thinking outside the box but giving a coach equal personnel footing with a GM doesn't seem like it's a recipe for success.
Every single team passed on him at least twice. I don't get why people think he was a sure thing when he came out - he obviously wasn't.
The only thing drafting a QB after the first round guarantees is that you're going to miss at a very significant rate:

I agree. Hughes is a witch. Having Pegula as the owner means actually keeping the great players AND adding pieces on both the roster and coaching staff.
I think most of those questions are pretty much moving targets.
I don't have a pension but my wife has two. We'll both have social security and we've saved money in various avenues (Traditional and Roth IRAs, 401ks, etc). I'm not sure what the future holds for the country but we're doing the best we can.
If Edmonton hires Peter Chirelli he might trade McDavid for a slightly more accomplished veteran. After all, he did trade Seguin for Louis Ericksson. Yeah, that really happened.
I'm kidding of course. I don't see Edmonton trading McDavid for anything, or even entertaining offers. That fanbase is on the verge of total revolt at this point and trading McDavid would put them over the edge.
He's 21. For a North American to be draft eligible, they have to be between 18-20 in the year of the draft.
Rodrigues is clearly a guy who benefited from playing with Eichel. He had 60 points total his first three seasons at BU. This year he had 61.
