  1. GMTM doesn't appear to be very interesting in drafting/trading/acquiring Russian born players.
  2. Eric Striker might not be impressive in his underwear running drills but he looks fast and athletic as hell on a football field. He could very easily be a box safety or 3rd down LBer and be very productive.
  3. So it's exploitation to dress up as someone who is making money dressing up as someone else? Uh...nope.
  4. It's starting to change ever so slowly. USA's hockey program is doing a spectacular job of getting players ready for the NHL.
  5. Anyone who watched the AFC Championship game and Super Bowl last season knows that the key to Denver's defensive success was the incredible interior penetration they were getting on passing downs. Von Miller is a beast but he was absolutely the beneficiary of the tremendous play by the Broncos' defensive tackles. They were terrific.
  6. I get what you're saying but Johnson is still a pretty limited guy. He had a good year and didn't give up a ton of the "forehead smacking" type goals that are the difference between regular goaltender and backup guy. He's not a great athlete with limited recovery skills and the more he plays the more likely the holes in his game are going to be exposed.
  7. Bison is delicious and is very good for you. It's more lean than turkey. If you're ever near a "Ted's Montana Grill" try the pot roast or meatloaf. Both are excellent. They also serve ribs and steaks, which are pretty pricey.
  8. I agree. For once I think we have the right guy pulling the strings.
  9. This just in: The world has people in it that aren't fit to be among us. Not necessarily news to anyone who has been outside.
  10. The only people who think a guy like Johnson is a priority are the ones who don't really know hockey. Johnson is a typical NHL backup goalie - he's nothing beyond that. He should be able to come in and win about half his games on a decent team. He'll steal a game or two and give up a game or two but he's not a franchise guy or anything close to it. He's an Enroth, Halak, Neuvirth, etc. J.A.G. I would like to see the Sabres keep him for continuity sake and because he seems like a good dude so he won't mess up the chemistry in the room (I think Neuvirth might be a bit of a B word but that's not based on anything real) but if he walks he's nowhere near irreplaceable. It's going to be an interesting offseason for this team. I can't wait to see what GMTM has going. He's not going to sit still.
  11. Johnson is JAG. There are guys like him available every off season. If someone offers him a deal that would hurt the future salary cap, you have to let him walk.
  12. Yeah, losing out on a backup goalie with a long history of being just good enough to get you beat is going to haunt him forever. Care to guess who wasn't the number one goalie in Philadelphia when the playoffs started? Yeah, Neuvirth. He didn't get a playoff start until they were down 3-0 in the series and had been blown out 6-1 in game 3. We had our Neuvirth this year. His name is Chad Johnson. Their careers have very similar trajectories (though Neuvirth was given the nod a little earlier in his career as a Capital and didn't get it done). In the short term Lehner's injury history is a worry but when he was in the net this season he showed why GMTM wanted him. I'm not at all concerned about dropping a late first rounder on an NHL Player. Late NHL first rounders are the equivalent of NFL 3rd/4th rounders. They're rarely big difference makers and many make almost no impact in the NHL. Those that do generally don't show up for 4 to 5 years.
  13. Hysterical Mostly agree. There were a few holes in the story but for the most part even though it's a bit formulaic, it's a pretty good show.
  14. He really is. I was hoping Pettis was finally going to bounce back but he's been unable to so far. He might be done as a contender in the UFC.
  15. He stayed hot - they still lost. Pittsburgh vs Washington is gonna be amazing.
  16. There's no way the Flyers can play like that again and win. I wouldn't panic at all if I was Washington. They dominated that game completely.
  17. Henderson looked like a boy in there last night. He hurt Koreshkov once, in the second round with a body shot, but got devastated the rest of the fight. He needs to be realistic and move down to 155. He's just too small and limited to fight such skillful guys who also have a big physical advantage.
  18. Looks like the UFC called Conor's bluf and he's already backpeddling.
  19. I pay to get mine done but I have a large lawn. I can't buy the lawn and tree fertilizer/pest control/etc for what the service charges me to buy it, bring it to my house, and apply it. Saves me tons of time and effort. Lawn is like a golf fairway and trees/shrubs/associated landscape plants are thriving. My neighbor's wife is all over him about using the same service because of how obvious the difference is. When I had a smaller lawn and way less landscaping I did it myself. Everything looked great because it's something I like to do but it required a lot of effort. My service can do everything in about a tenth the time it takes me because they have commercial gear and a team of people.
  20. While you're probably right, I'd go with Vesey because of his size. You just can't teach that big body and every time I watch the Kings and Ducks in the post season it's just so obvious that they're difficult to play against because they just send wave after wave of huge, fast, skilled players at you.
