  1. EJ = terrible version of Charlie Batch. "I'd let him babysit my kids." - Are you freakin' kidding me?
  2. Lehner's shootout problems seem to be more mental than physical at this point.
  3. We're going to see lower shooting percentages with the amount of shooting PH wants to see but against many NHL goalies we should see an enormous amount of rebound chances. I was VERY pleased at the number of successful pinches we saw last night and the positive offensive zone puck possession through two periods. There are certainly things to work on (2 man advantage PP, 3-on-3 OT at both ends, etc) but if last night is an indication, this is going to be a fun team to watch.
  4. He's got a very small sample size. He could very easily be the next RGIII.
  5. J.A.G. Big body, does nothing well except consistent effort.
  6. One of the greatest tragedies in team history is Biscuit spending most of his career being misused. Under Wade Phillips (or someone similar), he'd have been another Derek Thomas. Wade got 17.5 sacks out of Bryce Paup, who wasn't half the athlete that Bennett was.
  7. Does anyone really watch anything on ESPN that isn't a live sporting event?
  8. Brady has a couple of bad games a year but seems to put together a couple of drives at the end of the games to get the win. I'll believe this is the beginning of the end when he strings a few of them together.
  9. I'm going to reserve real judgement of our new look secondary until we play a QB who is not considered at best a journeyman.
  10. Great actor on probably the most important television show since "All in the Family".
  11. You spent about 5 pages earlier in this thread talking about your personal experiences with being pulled over. Try and keep up with your own life, Eric.
  12. The People's Republic of Illinois is well known for their aggressive traffic cops. I was traveling through one year and there were FIFTEEN cops lined up just inside the border. All of them had "customers." Just another unlevied tax for a broke, horribly governed state.
  13. Your man crush on McGregor borders on disturbing.
  14. I didn't say that. Initial cost is only a single factor in the total cost of ownership. There are plenty of Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes-Benz' that are less than 4 years old with under 30k miles in the $20k range. The internet is your friend. Never use absolutes. I bought a C5 Z06 a few years ago with about 25k for a little over $20k. It was such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. The car is worth more today than I paid for it. And total cost of ownership all but demands you consider resale value BEFORE you buy a car.
  15. Consumer reports ranks Audi as the third most reliable brand, just above Mazda and just behind Toyota and Lexus. I like how the Lexus' ride but their sedans are just plain ugly. I keep my cars for at least 10 years and have never had a "repair" that wasn't covered completely by warranty. Generally if you buy a family type care, don't beat the piss out of it, and follow the scheduled maintenance you aren't going to have many problems. The answer to questions like the one posed is never as simple as it seems. It depends on many factors. If you get a CPO used German car with maintenance covered for 4 years and then exchange the car, you're going to end up more satisfied than if you did the same thing with the average U.S. or Japanese manufacturer. It'll most likely be cheaper in that term too because the cars tend to depreciate much less.
  16. Used Audi A3 or A4. Should be able to get into one under 30k miles that's no more than a couple years old. Much nicer car and will have lower TCO.
  17. A little but not nearly as much. The real question is "how does he adapt after the first time he gets his clock cleaned?", because it's pretty much inevitable that it's going to happen. It pretty much wrecked Tim Connelly on an annual basis.
  18. He's playing against scrubs and running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Reid deserves credit because he's keeping it simple but that kid is gonna get smeared like a windshield bug if he plays when the bullets are real. His footwork is disastrous and his throwing motion is looooooooooooooooong. He'll be an interception machine.
  19. He's got a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go based on that film.
  20. Implying their situations were somehow equal? Megatron in the West Coast Offense with Montana/Rice throwing to him on those loaded teams would have defined the word "unstoppable." ALL things being equal, I'd take Megatron over anyone.
  21. If a German takes the road test on an automatic, their driver's license says that. That means they're not legally allowed to drive a stick. It is MUCH more difficult to get a driver's license in Germany than the U.S. Note to those who may travel to Germany: You're just as likely to be given a stick shift at the rental car counter as an automatic. If you can't drive a stick make sure when you make your rental car reservation that you ask for an automatic.
  22. I'd be more pissed if I was Anquan Boldin.
  23. What team is going to trade the first overall pick if there's a franchise QB sitting there?
