  1. As opposed to yours, you mean? You'll forgive me for not taking the opinion of someone who has no idea what is being coached or who can only watch what is being shown to them on television (which generally means you see about 10% of what a safety does in any given game). Whitner made plenty of very good, instinctive plays this season. I simply picked the easiest one for the simpletons to remember. Right, except both of the players you're comparing our Strong Safety to play Free Safety (but you know football). I won't even get into the different defensive philosophies between Baltimore, Washington, and Buffalo - because if you can't discern the difference between free safety and strong safety play, it's going to be really tough for you to understand that tidbit. Right, because that's the argument. I wasn't aware Taylor or Reed were on the board when Whitner was taken.
  2. It's a matter of time before there's no alcohol served at stadiums. Thanks, morons.
  3. Free fast porn for everyone! That'll bring tons of jobs. Try cutting taxes, spending, excess regulation, and waste. Then woo back some businesses. That'll likely work a hell of alot better than "giving" away something you can't afford RIGHT NOW.
  4. Am I the only one who initially saw "labia" instead of "labrum" in that article?
  5. Better instincts? You mean like covering a third of the field to break up the two point conversion pass to beat Miami? You people fuggin' amaze me with your inability to even know what the hell you are watching.
  6. Were they playing on teams with new head coaches, new defensive coordinators, new defensive systems, starting FOUR other rookies regularly on defense, with huge questions in their front sevens? Not to let common sense get in the middle or anything.
  7. That's positively ridiculous. You let me know when the French Fries are responsible for starting wars. There's a reason the Founding Fathers wanted a secular government and the freedom for each person to worship (or not) as they see fit. You mean that doesn't happen now? Please. Do some research.
  8. We'll never know if Whitner can be compared to the other elite safeties in the game - UNTIL THE FRONT SEVEN VASTLY IMPROVES THEIR PLAY. Taylor was nowhere near the player he was even last year because the Skins front seven went from pretty good to pretty average. FWIW, the guy I wanted was Vernon Davis as well. I knew we weren't going to get him.
  9. I'm confused. Does this thread mean Willis being an immoral dumbass with a big yap doesn't matter as much as his regularly underwhelming play on Sundays? Or is it the straw?
  10. Welcome to generations of public school education. Land of the Moron, Home of the Tard.
  11. Apparently undrafted free agents and late rounders. OH THE HUMANITY!
  12. Sure Bill, just like we should spend every high pick on offensive linemen. That'll absolutely lead to the promised land. Just like the Vikings. Shoot, they should be able to line up grandmothers and invalids at their skill positions and get in the playoffs, especially in their division. Yet somehow, despite having a loaded secondary and pretty good linebackers, THEY DIDN'T EVEN FINISH SECOND in their DIVISION. The draft is a crapshoot. We got a guy who won awards and started 16 games at arguably the second most difficult defensive position and will likely be an NFL starter for the next decade. But keep bitching like a schoolgirl because we didn't draft 15 linemen, as if picking the position is going to get the job done.
  13. The one who expects perfection is you. That's why you and your ilk turn to some faceless entity to solve all your problems, not at all understanding the future ramifications of those decisions. Instead, you point at the very things that are bankrupting our society as "progress" while the infrastructure continues to decay. Has peanut butter ever been the answer to 2+2? Thanks for again completely missing the point. Perhaps it's because the supporters actually understand what the Electoral College actually does. Great societies finally fail when the populous starts realizing that they can vote things for themselves. You do understand that's exactly what you're advocating, right? Why not just get rid of our "Representative Republic" and go to a true democracy? Then you idiots can quickly Darwin yourselves to death.
  14. What don't you know? You don't have an idea what the facts are, but you blindly support it? Way to lemming along. Really? So if the majority of people think you're a douchebag who should have his head cut off, we should be allowed to do it? What about if the majority believes that one segment of society should be eliminated, like the Nazi's did with their minorities? That's the reason the Electoral College was established in the first place. Majority rule all but guarantees that the freedom for the minority will be trampled. The rationale goes something to the effect of: Individual people are smart, but the wisdom of the masses is inversely proportional to the size of the grouping. Ask homosexual adults how they feel about their freedoms right now, because of the wisdom of the majority.
  15. So the TMQ guy is smart this week? Gotcha. I'd bring up some of his past gems, but everyone here with a clue knows that guy is full of crap at least as often as he's correct. The worst thing that happened because of that play was MS was forced to make a decision. That decision ended with him taking a critical timeout that ended up costing the Chargers at least one more play at the end of the game. I'm never going to fault a player for trying to make a play when there's that much time left on the clock against an opponent that's known for executing when the game is on the line who still has 2 timeouts remaining. Inside 2 minutes? Another story completely.
  16. You're wrong. The play everyone is alluding to was 4th and 14. Jimmy Smith and Nate each went up for the catch and Smith came down with the ball. All Nate had to do was knock it down, instead he gave up a 45 yarder to our 21 yard line. That led to Wilford catching the TD over Reese because Reese was too stupid to turn his damn head. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
  17. Which is why the Vikings had homefield advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. Oh. Wait...
  18. Love New Orleans. Patty O's is one of the greatest bars in the world.
  19. I played DB pretty much my whole life. With the exception of "Hail Mary's", I don't remember ever being told not to go for an interception when the ball was going to hit me in the stomach. There was well over 6 minutes left in the game. Him not knocking the ball down didn't cost them the game.
  20. I'd like to know how any of you evaluates Whitner. Really. Explain it in great detail. I need a good laugh.
