We can fix education simply by throwing more money at it... I guess a small amount of credit goes to Obama for saying how he plans to pay for something. NASA is one of the very few government "programs" that is a significant economic generator. I'm sure they're not perfect (they weren't when I worked there) but I doubt cutting back their funding will fix what ails them or be good for the American people in the long run. Wanna pay for stuff with outdated government programs? I bet I could find a list of 10 that are more expensive and wasteful than NASA without much trouble. Of course, they'd likely be pet Democrat giveaways like FSA...

If the BILLS don't find a better tight end than Robert Royal, we'll be on the outside of the playoffs looking in. Again. It's also not a coincidence that we've sucked in the redzone for virtually an identical period of time. Regardless of where they draft one, the better teams in the NFL have difference makers at the position. I'm not sure there was a playoff team in either conference last season who'd trade their backup tight end to Buffalo for Robert Royal, even if the BILLS paid the salary difference.

Yeah, let's pretend that "student" athletics is even important to all but a handful of Division I football schools (ND, BC, Service Academies, Stanford, Northwestern, Ivy League). Look at the grad rates for the football factories and tell me just how important education really is. The NCAA is all about money and there isn't a single decision that I can think of in the last 20 years that is an exception to that.

Aack Because it's all about money. You're simply not going to schedule teams who can beat you and risk losing out on a BCS Bowl and the big pay day that goes with it. Not when there are little schools who're willing to come to your house and take a beating for what is (for them) a big payday.
