  1. When I'm condescending, I'm very careful to use proper punctuation. I'm just sayin'.
  2. Actually, the more appropriate response would be "Halliburton" or "Ted Stevens". But I'm not surprised you only recognize payola when the other side of the aisle engages in it.
  3. Keep in mind that politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle thought she was a good choice for her new position.
  4. Why would I care what those guys think? Steely Dan's the dreamiest. I need his validation.
  5. What a weird time in history. That was definitely an interesting show.
  6. I spent the winter practicing blasting womp rats with my AK-47. That's sure to help, right?
  7. Who cares if they do? Do we really need to spend billions (and more likely trillions) for the attack that is never going to come?
  8. Sure you don't. If you didn't care, you wouldn't have answered the first post. Or the second. Let's pretend for a second I know what you're talking about. When you're done with that, pretend I give a crap about what you think. Ooh, some dude I've never met from TBD doesn't like me for something I don't know about that concerns an online game. That's gonna be tough to get over. Now get back to your world of inviting dudes to go down on you and pretend you're of "high moral character".
  9. You also implied you would make it easier for him. I'd tell you to stop now - but that would ruin the inevitable fun.
  10. Did you really just ask another dude to go down on you? Didn't think that one all the way through.
  11. I didn't read the article. I concentrated on "Earth's climate continues to confound scientists." - which has been my point all along. It's awfully difficult to build a consensus when you're "confounded". The fact that a single scientist in an article believes in "Global Warming" means very little when there isn't a single person on this planet that has even a basic grasp on how the environment really works, much less the overall effect that "emissions" are truly having on it. And just for clarification: The human race is horrible on the environment and should be ashamed of itself. That doesn't mean that we need to adopt the draconian measures being proposed by Gore and the rest of his a-hole pals who're in it to make bank.
  12. This is a really interesting question. I'm curious to see what people think. I've really been unable to follow this stuff because work is getting in the way.
  13. 30%, up to a maximum of $2000 for systems installed in 2008 or 30%, with no maximum installed after.
  14. About a year. And it's a "size of house" issue. My house requires the equivalent of a 5-ton.
  15. That's pretty much right. I know the cost of unit/installation for my house from Water Furnace was $12K for Heat/AC and that was using the existing ducts. Just couldn't make the numbers work for the situation. If I had built the house, I'd have done it.
  16. My in-laws have it. Their heating/cooling bills are less than half of my 90% "efficient" furnace/AC. The big issue is the cost upfront. If I were building new, that'd be the direction I'd go but be prepared for a big bill. There used to be a small tax incentive (like $400). I don't know if it's still around.
  17. Until this thread, I've never even heard of the guy (guess who doesn't watch CNBC). Of course, Buffet got beaten by the S&P over the last 12 months.
  18. I'll let you know when I care about your distinctions. You need to face reality and understand that the majority of the time, there aren't going to be people in power think the way you do and the best way to reign that in is to minimize the amount of power/cash they get their hands on.
  19. Which investment guy hasn't missed big at one time or another? Buffet has been apologizing so much lately that he's starting to look like a politician.
  20. Yesterday, one of the "stories" on the "news" was about the photo of President Obama drinking a beer at a basketball game - and the "concern" of the "message" that would send to the "children".
