Not really. His agility scores at the combine were terrible, and quite frankly odd given how well he tested otherwise. There was also the question of his ability to run the full route tree. Many of us around here were enamoured by his size speed combo and would have been happy to get him at 9, and were elated he was available in the 2nd. Then we traded up for Cody Ford. Ugh.

You don’t want a decent backup QB or a special teams ace (who counts for peanuts against the cap)?

Hill definitely makes them more dynamic, crazy speed on the outside, but will Tua be effective getting it to them? Waddle was basically used in a Beasley role last year. He’s actually a really good pass catcher out of the backfield. He just wasn’t used that way in Jax. He caught 69 passes last season.

Mixed emotions on this one. At times he was an ass. But the guy played his heart out, produced, and showed up even when injured. He undoubtedly helped in Josh’s development and was a part of our evolution as a team. Wish him well wherever he lands.

Maybe the interest in Hicks was prior to the Settle/Jones signings? Wouldn’t put it past an agent to throw this out there.

I think Hicks has played end in a 3-4 for the Bears. I presume this would be another DT for us? He’s had some production for an interior lineman, don’t see the Bears enough to know what he’s got left in the tank.

Watson has a no trade deal, so it’s likely HE said no.

So the Jags got Scherff, the big DT, the MLB from ATL, and Kirk? Am I missing anyone? That’s a solid haul.

I can see them pivoting to Landry now. He’s the kind of receiver they’ve had success with in the past.
