bring back Ryan's stooge Brandon Spikes too. A waste of money on the field but is a great locker room informant for a lazy coach. opps, forgot Rex is gone so bye bye Spikes. if we must have a Spikes on this team make it TKO -

Cordy Glenn still recovering from ankle injury
Niagara Bill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is time we moved on from this marginal tackle. He has been a stop gap player at left tackle that we have come to rely on. He looks good because all others have been worse. The level of performance when healthy is not enough to win with. Remaining healthy has been only one of the issues. Just the best of a bad lot. -

Overdorf has had more power than you may think. I refer you back as far as Jauron era when the week before the season kickoff it was Overdorf who released Langston Walker (our starting tackle) because of money issues ( Walker was a freeagent signing...not worth the dollars perhaps) and Jauron was shocked and was not told. At that time it was reported Overdorf controlled all contracts and made decisions above the head coach and maybe the GM. This type of behind the scene power broker must go. -
Great thread.....debating on how to debate the debaters vs the non debaters the info seekers vs the info commenters SDS and the mods should stay up 24-7 to insure it meets all the standards for billsgrp88 who is not a participator just a lurker. This is not a news site, it is a sharing and commentary site we all know you can get the best info from Jerry Sullivan column and ESPN

GM Doug Whaley has been fired
Niagara Bill replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ok, after 86 pages of facts about how and why here is the real truth. The Bills know that Peterman is the second coming of QBs. And how do we know this fact...that so many fans believe he will be a starter in Sept. That being fact, Whaley and his band of brothers are so intent on creating pop culture in their wheeling a dealing begin the draft with a diversionary tactic by trading down believing Peterman will be there at 27. Then they decided to roll the dice again...and again and again. (you get the point) Finally round 5...Peterman is a Bill. during this whole time TPegula and l'il Kim are watching from afar. They have been told by all that Peterman is the savior. for months everyone in the Bills staff have been told never to mention this name. A planned diversion by Whaley. Whaley made sure that Verizion service for TP phone was out. For 2 days Pegula could not reach him. Whaley was high on the diversion. Like a gambler not being able to walk away. Round after round the high feeling got stronger. The whole scouting staff got into it. It was one huge group high. Finally, realizing they could not get him as an UDFA they make the call. The next morning events unfold at OneBillsDrive as Pegula. finally realizes what happened. Whaley is last seen being escorted off the property has he is screaming " I could have made Peterman the next Brady" ..... that is how I see the it. fact. -
17 members of Bills scouting staff fired.
Niagara Bill replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The biggest issue here is the effect it has on the ability to attract new people. Money and term of contract becomes more important and loyalty is reduced. Common result in business in these circumstances. Of course the incestuous relationships at One Bills Drive have lead to this. The biggest power broker of the lot IMHO is Overdorf who has gradually taken more and more decision power. It is still sad that many long term people and their families pay the price for bad leadership. -

Bills have highest rated draft "A" and the next day fire entire scouting staff. Incredible and ironic. Just remember trading away the ship for a wide receiver ( they now won't pick up option on) and drafting a QB from Florida who never learned to think in four years. -
2017 NFL Draft: Round 2 & 3 Discussion
Niagara Bill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen. and all we did was replace 2 guys on the team ( Gilmore and Woods) with 2 guys with possibilities and a 3rd guy who has not even got a lot of college experience at the position we want him for. As a Bills fan I so want this to be successful, but as a Bills fan I know it will not. -
RD 2, Pick 63: Dion Dawkins (OT) - TEM
Niagara Bill replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we targeted Dawkins...must have if we used 2 5th rounders to move up to get a guy who admittedly needs coaching to even make the team. He has little O line experience. He is not a Miller. Whaley should be fired for this. -
but why walk from Gilmore when you have a great pair of corners, and then waste a 1st rounder to fill the position. White may be great, BUT we need multiple other positions and now we have to HOPE White is capable. an over all 3rd pick who is a druggie that does not respect the team and is not available for a huge part of the season. If history teaches us anything he may do it again.
-
got it that you are not a fan of Gilmore., but Belicheat is and he has a marginally better judgement than most. The fact he does not want to be in Buffalo is exactly the point of bad management , constantly spinning wheels to replace good players not allowing us to get to filling other holes and thus the events since 1999. You have to have a management that creates scenario where good players want to stay and bad types like Dareus are rejected.
-
Except the Patriots who thought Gilmore was worth the investment and we think Dareus (who the Pats would have thrown out long ago) was more value. Oh yeh, we missed the playoffs again (and again) and we all know what they have done. And don't say Tom Brady....we cannot find a Tom Brady because we keep spinning wheels replacing quality first round picks. It is one thing to blow the pick, it is bad management to hit a good one and then not be able to sustain it. Shame on the Bills Consider who signed this bad corner who cannot tackle....
-
We gave a fortune to a waste of a person in Dareus, so we have no cap space to find a way to keep another first round choice in Gilmore, That brings us to spend this yrs first on a CB rather than building up other weak positions. We will need a stud DT as Kyle is getting older and Dareus cannot be trusted to be available. We are still the hamster on the wheel.
-
OK, so Gillislee is gone....another hole to be filled in the draft, along with CB, safety, LB, O line and wide receiver...4 of the areas created by our own action of lack of action. RB, could have been set, CB, could have been set, WR, could have been set LB, could have been set. Not to mention QB which many seem to consider a must. now we have more areas to fill, however here is the question. more than 50% of the people on this web site believe Whaley should not be the GM. (just observation). He has created these many needs. Why do you follow the draft. Those who do not believe in Whaley must already know the draft is a bust. (See Watkins and the trade up) Nothing good can possibly come from the weekend . But wait maybe Whaley can get us out of he!! with a trade of Dareus for a 5th rounder. The ideal situation of better by subtraction. That makes it worth following the draft.

We seem to always destroy strength
Niagara Bill replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly . this is what happens to a team for 17 years that has such terrible decisions on the cap by Overdorf and the rest of the idiots who decide that poor risks like Dareus should be signed to screw up our cap room. The Pats let these type walk and keep the Gillislee types who play the game properly. The Pats tell B Spikes to take a hike and we sign him, over pay for a one dimensional player, a troubled player and then allow him to infiltrate our dressing room and not even play him. Only the Bills would sign Spikes and Percy Harvin in the same year. -
We seem to always destroy strength
Niagara Bill replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly my point. To create cap space get rid (if possible) guys like Dareus who kill the cap space and don't play so you can keep decent players and keep a unit in place. This is always the same management issue, fall in love with a Dareus type ( high risk from the day they drafted him, like using his mommy as an excuse) rather than build units with character and keep them together. You cannot draft to improve your team when you draft each year to replace what you lose by your own stupidity in both Dareus types and bad cap management. Management in the past did know how. I recall when Jim K and Bruce and Thurman convinced future hall of famer Andre Reed to take an offer far less than he wanted and come to camp. That was team leadership and facing reality. This would be a better team without Dareus and with Gillislee. Now we have to draft a RB and a D lineman (you cannot count on Dareus and Kyle is getting up there) -
As many bangers appear to believe, NOT AFRAID TO DIE, JUST AFRAID TO LIVE. The next thing you will hear is someone quoted saying he was such a good boy I do not wish ill on anyone, including AH but I have no idea where this type of illogical action comes from. Too easy to say mental health. We know that since he killed someone in cold blood. It is more than mental health. amen.
