A terrible incident for sure and hope no one is seriously injured BUT, is it really necessary to have it be the lead story on the news around the country. Is it really necessary to call in the State Police to investigate. Is it really necessary to find a person to charge and blame when 30 kids bounce on a wooden stage and it breaks. Likely the governor will ban all stage productions until a full review can be done, all stages are checked and someone goes to jail. Hilary should be there soon to express her outrage. Cruz will blame the illegal immigrant policy. Will helmets now be required for anyone on stage so little Jonny and Alicia will be safe or will singing in groups of more than 5 be stopped. Sarcasm for sure by me but why the over reaction. Does it really need to be on the front page of USA Today and find it's way to the courts.

Report: Lions Release Reggie Bush
Niagara Bill replied to Uffalo Ills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A dancer, a wimp and a front runner...will never be successful and will spend career as a specialist on bad teams. This guy is the second coming of Ted Ginn Jr. and is more suited to reality TV and the Kardashians than the NFL Talent and no guts. -
It took you 496 posts to show your true intelligence. While we are at it lets suggest how bad the Steelers O was with Bradshaw and 4 Superbowls. Obviously Franko Harris was too slow to be an NFL Running back and imagine what they could have done with Tony Dorsett.

Rex Ryan from a Jets fan POV
Niagara Bill replied to Momentoftrth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every coach has warts, and Rex has loyalty to a fault for sure. Competition is the corner stone of building a team and a great ex has learned the balance required in his 6 years with the Jets. I like the hire, I hate the Jests. The biggest difference between the teams is GM. The Jests did not have a GM. They had 2 huge failures in the position. Whaley will not be a failure and has control over the 53 man squad. Rex will be successful here. Go Bills -

Report: Chip planning to move up for Mariota
Niagara Bill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
how many threads do we need for Chip and his love of Mariota -
I only hope we do not go through another transition in the style of O lineman. In the last 6 or 7 years we went from huge and road graders to small and nimble to big and strong and every time that occurs it takes 2 or 3 years to gather the right personnel and then more time to allow them to play together.

Could they now keep Spiller?
Niagara Bill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why keep a soft back, who never runs straight ahead, cannot hit a hole and is oft injured if he gets more than 5 carries a game... -
Doug Marrone opts out of contract
Niagara Bill replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't care if Marrone is an idiot, hated by some etc...we were 9&7, almost made the playoffs, got better each year, and still had no QB Now we are back to being a recycle program of the 80's. Polian is past his prime as Levy was. We now may have to accept another unproven HC in Reich Polian brings in his kid, Schwartz leaves and we end up 5& 11 but rebuilding again We go from a young and aggressive org to old and sleepy again. Why not bring back Walt Corey and the Prevent Defence -
We found a great defence and can continue that with Kiko back and Brown experience and Hughs back. We concentrated on Special teams in the off season and it showed but it will require concentration again to keep the spark Our offence is bad and no matter what we do we can only have marginal improvement next year without a QB... no QB...no playoffs. The only other way to get to 11 wins is to have a running game that cannot be stopped which means both an o-line makeover ( at least 3 players). and a great running back.( Spiller is not good enough)

What is the primary reason you visit TSW?
Niagara Bill replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
in years past I spent hours reading the sight and communicating with many folks. It has gradually changed to a be only mildly informative and is now so over moderated and formatted it has lost its edginess. The edginess made this sight. Now, 2 or 3 minutes each day is enough. I now see people pretending to be something they are not. I see geeks ( not football geeks) creating words such as "presser". Because of over moderation topics are too long. It is forbidden to mention anything new without a moderator combining it with a topic of 27 pages ( see Jim Kelly), unless of course it is a survey. Mods now are thought police. It now feels like lawyers vet everything. it is still a great site to organize activities about the Bills, I have met great friends here in past years but today actual new info is gone. I think all those who were real knowledgeable have left and it is now cut and past of twitter reports. Strange how a twitter report is considered gospel. The edginess was like sitting at the local bar talking Bills. Ah but now the lawyers know best. -
Hey Marrone - Start Bryce Brown!
Niagara Bill replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I support this idea too. CJ has talent but little consistent results. He is the EJ of running backs, looks like he should be and isn't what is advertised -
EJ addressed the offense in Saturday meeting
Niagara Bill replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
physical talent aside the QB must lead and be in control of all O players, and he appears now to be taking that step. Once again many will laugh at this comment but he did remove that face shield which makes it easier to lead and look others in the eye while commanding -
there are a few ambiguities that concern me about the O 1) we have tried to build a road grader O line, but our number 1 RB is not a straight head runner (line suits beast mode) 2) we have tried to build a road grader line and our QB has the ability to run 3) we have a QB that can run and we do not want I to use that ability 4) we have a road grader line that should be able to punish the D line and then run a hurry up offense to tire our huge players 5) we have a young QB who is struggling with reads and changing plays at the line but we want to run more plays, quicker than most teams 6) we want to run more plays but we have a young inexperienced O coordinator that does not know the pro game as well is the D coordinators on the other team 7) we have a very good D but we want to tire them out with quick 3 and outs by our Offense how is it possible to succeed?????

No one should get a free pass
Niagara Bill replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen....we have no NFL knowledge and experience in the QBs or the O coordinator. Marrone seems to think freshmen are OK...this is not college. a vet would help for sure -
If I could change 1 thing about E J
Niagara Bill replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
wow and wow and wow...... so many Neanderthals peripheral vision obstruction can hurt his reads and slow down reaction times for a QB. It happens to be a trait of successful QBs to have open vision. And do not suggest that Newton is successful compared to Manning, Wilson, Roethlesberger, Favre, Rodgers, JK etc. I believe it demonstrates a personality that will hold him back from being elite. He has an arm, good feet and intelligence but lack of true leadership and vision of the field can create another Trent Edwards. -
If I could change 1 thing about E J
Niagara Bill replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes, it tells me that he has restricted vision and he has not grasped the concept of leadership, a most important aspect of being the QB, seriously Caveman -
When Trent was here 1 very noticeable trait he had was demanding a coat on his shoulders for every time out. Before talking to the coach, or showing leadership he was focused on himself not the game. I hated this action. A real leader would not even think of the coat. JK showed toughness Trent showed he was a wimp. EJ now wears a closed front helmet with visor. The spacing in the eye area is small with extra bars and then a visor added. His vision is restricted and most important in the huddle eye contact with his teammates is interfered with. Real winning QBs like Manning (2), Brady, Russell Wilson, Favre, Cutler, Roethlisberger want to see, be seen by teammates, and show emotion and strength in the huddle. Can you imagine JK chewing out House Ballard hiding behind a shield, Many QBs used to unstrap the helmet in the huddle to look at teammates in the eyes and then snap it at the line. EJ hides. RBs and Lineman can hide, QBs have to lead. This is an observation but in my thoughts one that is troubling. (ps, changing the helmet does not make him a leader but using it is a symbol of isolation rather than strength of leadership.)

Would a line up of Mike Williams, Sammy, Woods, Goodwin and Manual or Williams, Stevie, Woods, Goodwin and Bortles ( or another one of the early drafted QB's ) feel better right now. Somehow, reading about Manuel in OTA's is not making me feel good about the decision we made. When he says he Is trying to remain even keeled and not too emotional he sounds like Rob Johnson or Losman not a leader. Not being able to make a throw in practice sounds all too familiar.

CJ Spillers increased role in offense?
Niagara Bill replied to Original Byrd Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we have had small O lines and then large O lines, back again and again. small and quick is usually better for spread offence since the guards and tackles can get out and block. We are now in our big bruisers phase again, that means road graders, straight ahead blocking and in my view not pro CJ for multiple positions for him. He will not likely see the old Chan style of trying to get him the ball in many positions, but, for getting him into the secondary and open field may be best inside the tackles. I am concerned he cannot stop jumping outside as he likes with this new line.
