  1. lol, Jauron has made his money. I don't think he cares anymore.
  2. Lol, thread hijacked in 3,2,1... 1492 Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue 1493 Columbus stole all he could see Also, the existence of the Americas was not only a lucky break but perhaps one of the luckiest in history (outside of the Tyree catch saving me and [probably] you a lifetime of hearing New England Patriot fans brag about their undefeated team). The other Europeans didn't attempt the trip because they thought the Earth was flat but because they adhered to a relatively accurate estimation of the world's circumference. As such, they realized the trip was essentially impossible (you'd starve to death before you hit Asia. They simply didn't build ships big enough to house enough food). Columbus, however, used an inaccurate calculation and thought everyone else was wrong. The Americas showed up about where he though Asia would be. Without the New World, Columbus and his crew starve and die because of his poor math skills. Instead, he hits the new world and we have to make up the stupid legend about him asserting the world is round so he doesn't appear as stupid as he actually was. Unfortunately for him, his lack of intelligence revealed itself when he tried to actually govern what he found. It does go to show how significant luck is though. We should probably have Amerigo Vespuci day rather than Columbus day since he's the one who figured out that he was on a new continent (hence the name America rather than Columbia). Sorry for the lecture. It's a nice distraction from talking about the game today.
  3. And two of those games are against very suspect defenses! If you can't score against the Browns and the Saints or even move the ball consistently, things are going to really get ugly when you play good teams (as the Dolphins game revealed). Next week is going to be a nightmare. If only I could make myself turn off the television instead of futilely staring at the screen with a sick sense of knowing disbelief. Why do we do it? I certainly have not been getting much enjoyment out of the experience thus far this season. God, this team is so bad that they are making me question things that I have always taken for granted and (by extension) forcing me to experience some sort of existential crises. Maybe that can be their slogan for next year. That one's free Russ! Okay, rant over.
  4. The sun, he doesn't play well in the sun... or at night, because of the lights... they sometimes get in his eyes when he drops back.... umm... the coaches, that's it. No one could win with these coaches. Or, the line! The line is horrible and we could have Joe Montana and not do anything. Have I mentioned that the coaching is bad? Anyway, starting Fitzpatrick is a bad idea... because... because... umm... ...
  5. You cannot take a sack there!
  6. Why aren't we leaning on Lynch more?
  7. No, but we should. It's not Edwards fault, you understand. It's the coaching, wind, sun (in his eyes), other team's defense, etc.
  8. Edwards sucks
  9. Does Jauron need to clap when we commit a penalty?
  10. +1. The shorter throw to the TE who had the Browns player ready to destroy him was much safer
  11. Edwards even fails at the low risk throws.
  12. Pull Edwards NOW! There is NO WAY Fitz plays worse
  13. ?? What game are you watching. Henne seems better at the moment.
  14. It seems that Edwards has no confidence in Edwards and the OC has no confidence in Edwards. Is using Fitzpatrick on the table if we continue to struggle?
  15. This is Edwards' make or break year. He either succeeds and is rewarded with a contract or fails and is dropped (maybe he is retained as a backup or allowed to "compete" for the job as Kyle Boller was).
  16. A team in Orlando would do really well. They would have a fan base who live in the area and also attract lots of tourists who are in the area for Disney, Universal Studios, etc.. The sports team and the resorts would probably reinforce one another (as people would come to the game and swing by the resorts or be at the resorts and decide to attend the game). Tampa would be slightly impacted but would still be fine.
  17. 24-20 Miami. They score two defensive touchdowns and we get one as well. We enter the 4th quarter up 17-10 but things go south from there due to playing very conservatively. We punt to them in the 4th on 4th and inches at Miami's 47 with 5 minutes left down 4; they run out the clock. I hope I'm wrong but this is the pattern we have followed in the Jauron era. I think we then beat the browns (by a ton), get our hopes up, and get blown up by the Jets. However, we then win our next 1-3 games (or however many it takes to get our hopes up) only to lose another soul crushing defeat in a game that has been flexed to Sunday night. Sorry, I'm still kind of bitter...
  18. Why didn't we bring in a veteran QB to push Edwards and/or be there in case his skills continued to trend downward? I'm so sick of watching him play that I'd rather just have us roll with Fitzgerald, not because I think Fitzgerald is the answer simply because I think he would at least be more entertaining to watch and actually challenge defenders by mixing in deep passes.
  19. My guess is that is more on Trent than the OC. He looked down field at first and then went to the checkdown.
  20. Trent's performance during this next drive will say quite a bit...

  22. Why not just use the same format as college football? To make it a bit more interesting, you could even start both teams off a bit further back but it isn't necessary. Or (and this is the one I prefer) use the basketball system, and just play the quarter all the way out. If it's still tied at the end, go another one. For the record, I like the initial poster's idea as well and definitely think it would be an improvement.
  23. That game was heartbreaking. Everyone in the stadium (at least in my section) thought we had one second left as well. However, they never showed us a replay of it on the big board, so there was no way to be sure. @%@#%#@ Miami GoBills78, I agree with you to a point, but both return games were scorching the coverage units. I wonder if it was more a matter of the kick not being placed properly. They made out well enough on the squib kick previous to that last one.
