If things don't pan out, won't we draft a QB and see what the Ohio State kid has (and probably sign a journeyman to compete for the starting job)? In that situation, we still wouldn't end up paying a QB big money for a long while.

I might be alone in this, but I think a decent number 3 is in that group. One or two will emerge, and they'll probably add others before training camp.

They should name the teams, but instead of a game, have a series of competitive skills competitions. They could be a mix of traditional contests (speed competitions, accuracy matches) and off the wall things (maybe even a volleyball game or Horse). This wouldn't be for adults, but for kids who would really get into this sort of thing. They could spread it out across a whole day. The winning team might get some money and a patch to add to their uniform or something else that plays into their narcissistic tendencies.

Don't you have to figure that the numbers would be altered for a team that regularly goes for two (and theoretically becomes better than average at doing so?)

I wonder how much those numbers would change if the game against KC was in Buffalo. That is a huge factor in the race, and the fact that it's in KC will make the Chiefs favorites.
