    First two short plays put them in hole, then third and long. The play calling is horrendous. Oakland just destroying short runs and dump offs.

    I know spiller can break one at any moment, but all of the negative yardage and missed lanes preceding the highlights are drive killers. There was no need to bring him back, and to be honest, the offense is probably better without him.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but if NE loses this week, Den wins, and Indy loses to Dallas, NE is locked into the 2 seed so next week wouldn't matter. That would be an ideal scenario.

    Serious question, do you think Orton is intimidated by situation (back in Denver, etc.)? I know, I know, "he sucks, etc, etc." This performance seems especially bad though.

    Not to hijack the thread, but this is an awesome idea! Edit: In response to the initial topic, they might, but I could see it going either way. I'd rather they just phase them out permanently though (I'll stop there since this wasn't the thread's question, and I made my point about this when they were first cut).

    Completely agree. I am no fan of Marrone, but if this team gets to 9-7, everyone has earned another year.

    Either/Or fallacy. People can take issue with the play call and simultaneously like the idea of going for it on 4th down. These things are not mutually exclusive.
