I never mentioned your QB. Tom Brady does not play for the Bills. -

Fixed. 38-24-36 36-26-36 34-22-34 Pick a woman. Myself I want to see them, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is just as STUPID to say this QB is better than that QB based on stats as it is to pick a woman from those numbers alone. -

2699 YDs is a Stat. Namath's 4000 YD's are a RECORD. There is a world of difference between the two. -

Stats don't mean CRAP. The proof of that is stats that have been posted on this board that would make Trent Edwards APPEAR to be a GOOD QB when thus far he has been Nothing more than MEDIOCRE. I did not quote a stat, I quoted a RECORD. That list was no doubt put together by a 20 something kid that never saw ANY of the people on that list play & therefore has NO VALUE. -

You yourself said he is overrated & that is just WRONG. He got the attention he got NOT because he played in NY, but rather because he played for the NY Jets NOT the Giants. he also set some big records, he was the 1st NFL QB to pass for over 4000 yards. He did that in 1967 in a 14 game season. No other QB did it until Dan Fouts in 1979 in a 16 game season. You guys need to watch film of the old games & READ rather than quote stats, they don't mean sh--. -

All three are HOF players and you can debate the merits of each. Namath however had a GREATER impact on the NFL than ANY other player PERIOD. When the NY Jets signed Namath the AFL & NFL were at WAR. The AFL was in danger of folding at that time. Namath's signing by the Jets gave legitamacy to the upstart league, & the NFL eventually realized it needed to make peace with the AFL. The AFL was still looked down on as an inferior minor league by the NFL & much of America until Namath & the Jets beat the Colts in Super Bowl III. If you are a Buffalo Bills fan today, you can thank Joe Willie Namath. Without him the AFL & Buffalo Bills could well have folded. -
Great Post. I just have one disagreement with you. I am 1st & formost a Bills fan, but I am also a Big fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers & I am no phony. I moved to Fla in1984. There were no sports bars to watch games at & no internet to read about your favorite team. I got to see the Bills twice a year when they played Miami & that is it, they were NEVER on Monday night football at the time because they stunk. In the newspaper if they didn't play Miami there was a sentence or two & that is it. If I wanted to follow a team, I had 2 choices the Fins which I could NEVER be a fan of, or the Bucs a terrible team in 1984 & for many years to come, but the team I chose.

You are right about Namath & Tarkenton I thought he was much older. I don't get what you mean be Starr "overlapped" their generations, Starr was born in the previous generation. -

You can read stats.......................that makes you an expert. The REAL EXPERTS watch GAME Film. THEY do not look at STATS. -

What team will come out of nowhere next year?

He eased up (a little) the year the Giants went to the Super Bowl. -

Yeah I remember watching Jones, he could have been great. The 68 Jets will be featured on "Americas Game" Sat Morning @ 8 AM. That Super Bowl legitimized the AFL. Young guys interested in the History of the NFL should check this show out. -
MUCH BETTER with REAL BUTTER.

Who is your favorite BILLS backup QB of all time?
Flbillsfan#1 replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills would not have Won those Championships in 64 & 65 without Lamonica. He is #1 to me with Reich #2. -
The President of VH1 went to Buff State, is a Bills fan & LOVES Buffalo. I don't expect any cheap shots.

Hooters wings SUCK here in FLA, & this is where Hooters started. There are some decent wings here however due to all the Buffalo transplants.

I did not say Namath was better than Bart Starr. I said Namath was the BEST QB of his generation. Tarkington was in the same generation as Starr, that is why Tarkington had to wait. Starr > Tarkington Even though both of his knees were SEVERELY injured while playing at Alabama, Namath was made the HIGHEST PAID player to come out of college for a reason, & it wasn't his boyish good looks. When I say highest paid, I mean by a LOT. The Namath signing by the Jets didn't make the front sports page, it made the FRONT page of the Newspaper due to the amount of money he was paid. The AFL & NFL were at war at the time. If he had not been injured in college Namath would have very likely been the BEST QB EVER. -
So, why can't the Bills make the playoffs?
Flbillsfan#1 replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Just as the Bills came back to earth, so shall the Pats* why not this year? They are an OLD team that is now a year older & Brady is coming off an injury. Granted they will be using HGH. 2.Can't argue that point. 3.I think this O-line will outplay last years. 4. Schobel is healthy & we have Maybin, the pass rush should be much improved. While I like Greer had he stayed in Buffalo he would have likely been the 3rd CB. I expect McKelvin to have a better year than Greer did last year. If Trent plays as well as his fans expect him to, the Bills will make the Playoffs. GO BILLS -

The fact is a good number of college players are switched initially from tackle to guard when they are rookies in the NFL then are switched back to tackle. Butler has the physical tools to play tackle in the NFL. -
It is true it is just roast beef on a bun, however someplaces use a better grade of beef than others & some places use stale buns.
