  1. This is exactly what I am saying. Simms played the rest of the game after having his spleen ruptured. He is popular in the Buc's locker room & I have heard Buc's players say he is tough as nails.
  2. I think if healthy Simms is worth a 3rd. It would probably only take a 4th or 5th to get him however. His situation is much like JP's, 1 year left on his contract.
  3. Sounds like Trent Edwards to me.
  4. I am not a stat guy .........Don't think they tell the whole story. I have seen with my own eyes EVERY GAME PLAYED from start to finish by all three QB's. Chris when healthy can throw the long ball as well as JP, & has Trent's touch on the short throws. He is a team player, would be happy to compete for the #1 job & be a good back up if Trent beat him out. With JP gone after this year I can't think of another QB available I would rather have on the Bills.......that is if he is healthy.
  5. Before the injury Simms was better than both JP & Trent.
  6. Chris is a great team 1st guy. The Bucs feel someone will trade for him that is why he is still a Buc.Chris was a Gruden supporter and is baffled why he is being treated this way. The Bucs just settled with Plummer. He had to pay the Bucs $3.5 MILLION of his signing bonus, so I think the Bucs are down to 5 QB's now.
  7. Chris was on the Ron & Ian show this AM on WDAE. He said Gruden was a smart coach and taught him a lot, but after he got hurt Gruden wouldn't even say hello to him. The Bucs still have him under contract & are looking to trade him. Asked if he would report to training camp, he said he would, but couln't imagine the Bucs wanting the media circus it would involve. I thought Chris was a good QB with a lot of potential prior to the injury, he said he still could not throw last year because of it. If fully recuperated I would give a 3rd for him.
  8. I read an article in the Sarasota paper the other day about the Jags. Seems they are having trouble selling tickets for 08 after they had a very good season last year, & MANY seats are already covered with a tarp. I think it said three of the first four games at home were blacked out last year.
  9. I know a guy who was arrested for DUI here in Fla (a misdemeanor). He used to go to Canada every summer for two weeks to fish. Because of the DUI, he is not allowed in Canada for like 7 years.
  10. Davin Joseph, & Alex Smith are both good players as are Gains Adams, and Barrett Ruud to name a few picks the Bucs hit on. If Poz becomes as good a player as Ruud is I will be VERY HAPPY. Clayton played decent last year (he is a very good down field blocker), this year will be important for him.Gradkowski was like a 6th round pick. Anyway the article is who the Bucs SHOULD have drafted (as in instead of who they did draft)
  11. Pewter Report magazine, The Bucs team Mag, had an article this month....... Players the Bucs SHOULD HAVE drafted. Chris Ellis was 3rd or 4th on the list (I can't remember) of players the Bucs should have drafted.
  12. 1)Rookie QB? Trent WAS a rookie LAST YEAR. He got serious playing time last year & is a 2 year VET THIS YEAR, with his old QB coach as OC, using the same terminology he learned as a rookie. The long ball is not Trents forte, he should do well playing like Chad Pennington before he got injured. The HATERS all called JP a 4 year vet last year despite the fact he only threw a handful of passes his rookie year, played for NUMEROUS coaches & different systems his 1st three years. 2) If Hardy plays as well as Evans did his rookie year he will be fine. Should help in the red zone if nothing else. 3) I agree pretty much. 4) Turk is going to use more three step drops that should help with the blitz. 5) With Stroud & a healthy Poz run D should be much improved from last year.
  13. Pennington never had a great arm, after being injured it is GOD awful. The other QB has not shown anything. The O-line was bad, it may be better. As I said, I am not impressed with either the receivers or running backs on the Jets. I think this season will tell if Mangini is a genius or not.
  14. I have 8 Brett Favre rookie cards, I don't know if I should sell now or wait until he gets into the HOF.
  15. If you could put Chadwick's brain in JP's body you would have a first ballot HOF player, as it is though the Jets have one of the worst QB combos in the league. I am not all that impressed with their running backs or receivers either.
  16. I agree with you, but there is one other team..... Chicago. Down here in Fla in the sports bars there are as many Bills fans (there are a lot) as Steeler fans but we are vastly outnumbered by Bear, Packer, & Brown fans.
  17. Those Buc's uniforms were SO UGLY the team has never worn them again as a throwback, NO ONE that is a Bucs fan wants to see those ugly things again, former Bucs players joke about how how ugly those unis were.
  18. I think it depends on how well the Pats* play without CHEATING, we may be able to split with them.
  19. I was listening to ESPN radio the other day not sure who it was, anyway he was talking about the Detroit Redwings fans & how they all wore jerseys, many of past players. He said only two teams in the NFL can compare........ the Packers & Buffalo Bills.
  20. Efficient is GOOD, I would be very happy with that. I think efficient means putting some points on the board (6+1 at a time) and avoiding costly turnovers.
  21. NFL Network is going to replay that game next week I think.
  22. I don't expect him to lead us to the Super Bowl in 08, but he needs to show improvement, & I would like to see him stay healthy for the entire year. If he starts out looking good in Sept - Oct, but falters in Nov-Dec- Jan then I will be very concerned.
  23. I agree Trent has to show us he has what it takes this year for the long term future success of the Bills.
