  1. i hear ya.. it would be exposed, regardless of whether it's league policy to verify the existence of an offer tendered.. thanks
  2. on that note.. would another team's offer be announced? or just it's acceptance or match? edit - as in, it would be league protocol to recognize publicly that an offer has been made
  3. whoever it is, I'm thinking that Roman will have him on the move.. especially with the Taylor signing.. expect to see a heavy dose of Malzahn's play option pass employed so well by Bevell in Seattle for Wilson, and the read option plays Roman installed for Kap.. rollouts.. some designed QB draws.. lots, and lots of lateral and vertical movement exploding out of formations that have the defense beaten before the ball is snapped.. jet sweeps.. bubble screens.. rubs out of bunch.. power sweeps.. counters.. pulling.. trapping.. deep routes.. shallow routes.. threatening every inch of the field on every play.. whew! how you like me now?!
  4. rather have the U kid anyway.. less money, a larger target, and just as dynamic.. the thing is, he's on everyone's radar now - and with reportedly average/poor pool of TEs, another team may reach up to 1st rd to get him
  5. yep, rather than keep a backup to Cassel, they picked up a backup to EJ
  6. i dunno.. i think it's just fans of Taylor who liked what they saw - and think his game could finally translate to the pros.. so does Rex and Roman, to some degree.. i don't.. but i'm just a fan
  7. jeez.. when you put it like that, we're gonna need a bigger oven
  8. i agree.. but i don't understand why we chose a stiff OT with a bad knee in the 2nd round, and now have to consider moving him as a project to OG, in order to get him on the field. edit.. lets' see if anyone wants him as an OT project
  9. it's all good.. i used to work with a 3rd generation Hokie fan, who was raising a 4th and i know you guys love that team (just not always Beamer )
  10. i don't see it your way, but i sure love your enthusiasm over the guy.. and the fact that we got him means our professional coaches are more inclined to agree with you, than me.
  11. i'd send my young RT question mark to them for their old vet.. they're playing Peters replacement at RT now (johnson, i think).. if Kujo develops, he'd be a nice future RT for them
  12. i get it.. he makes plays by extending them.. but i think most coaches would prefer he hit the open receiver running across the 6 yard line at the :36 mark. he was under no pressure, but appeared to limit himself to one read before breaking to his left.. why? maybe he needs to create passing lanes for himself.
  13. i agree that he was a very exciting college QB, but unlike college - breaking the pocket to extend plays isn't an offensive design - it's the last recourse of a QB who - for whatever reason - is incapable of executing the play as designed. NFL pocket QBs usually need to make their reads, get through their progressions, and distribute the ball to one of several intended receivers within 4 seconds. i don't think this is Tyrod's 'game'. he looks like he'd have success running some 'play option pass' that Roman could hang off a 'read option' run.. that would be a nice 'change of pace' package, but i don't think you can survive a season running that and QB draws as a base O in the pros. i doubt he was drafted to be developed as a pocket passer - remember, 2011 was the height of the 'read option' craze in the NFL - so the Ravens, like a lot of teams, got a guy to complement their traditional pocket passer.. i really doubt they ever planned on putting a big effort into developing a talented 6' tuck and run playmaker into an every down QB - but i have no idea.. does anybody? i wish Taylor success. obviously Roman is on board with this, so we'll see what they have in store.
  14. more like standing around in the parking lot after we've all been tossed out of the bar.. that's it for me guys.. i'm walking home..
  15. i hear ya, but i think our new O will bring out the best in any QB we line up.. edit - which is why we want to upgrade the offensive capability of our TE
  16. not a fan, but Tannehill's better than anything the Browns got
  17. damn.. looks like the lights came on for last call.. fun thread while it lasted..
  18. it's very important to have offensive playmakers that can get you big chunks of yardage when the opportunities present themselves.. we're loading up the O with as many of these guys we can get. we currently don't have one at the TE /H-Back position. Clay fits that need.
  19. does Clay sign, in the sequel? and does Chandler find happiness?
  20. not when for round 2 & 3 values - that repeated line refers to 1st round candidates
  21. but would Miami only have to match our 'cap friendly' offer to keep him?
