  1. i think the Redskins would pick him up in a flash.. there are probably others.. and screwing with a player's opportunity to earn has to be taken seriously by sports agents and the folks they represent.. i'd be surprised if he's not traded .. but you might be right
  2. Fitz really rocks that 'civil war re-enactment' thing! hope Jet fans don't turn too fast on him.
  3. i hear ya.. but with guys dropping like flies, he has good value as a vet backup for alot of teams.. besides, i think pro FOs don't usually screw with a guy's chance for a payday - word gets around - which can hurt your chances of bringing vets into future camps.
  4. good point.. but bringing Cassel in for Taylor is like the O losing an erection
  5. can't read anything into practice at this point.. but in season, the backup gets reps with the 1s, after the starter
  6. if Cassel was going to be released, he would have left with Fred - to hook on elsewhere. from where i'm standing, Manuel is a much better fit to backup Taylor.. that said - Bills may be fielding offers for both, hence the lack of 'backup' news
  7. " E.J. Manuel seems like the obvious choice if Buffalo decides to release someone, but Matt Cassel's $4.75 million cap charge could earn him the boot. The Bills would get all of that $4.75 million off the cap by releasing Cassel." obvious to who? another parrot geek who doesn't understand how teams are built? it amazes me these guys get paid for gossiping like old hens.. and way to safety net your 'obvious' opinion with the "but" remark. maybe Ian would like to tell us that Fitz wasn't part of the discussions..
  8. it may be no consolation to the fans, but after considering how he fit into a Taylor led O, the best thing for him was to release him early enough to join another squad and get paid.. they did.. he will..
  9. yep.. another nice fit. the guy just can't be asked to run between the tackles unless his new team has a very good line.. Marrone and Hackett aged him more than Father Time did
  10. how about one Center and 5 pairs of holders/placekickers lined up across the field?
  11. yep.. i saw them go unbalanced with Kujo reporting as eligible and Mulligan flexed off his hip against steelers
  12. Jackson may be tasked with keeping Hughes off Manning when we play Broncos for AFC crown
  13. yeah.. that 'not so much' was more for EJ.. but compared to cassel, EJ's Tarkenton
  14. Jackson will get offers from teams with statue pocket passers who can rely on a savvy back good in blitz pickup and positive yards on check downs. see - Pats, Denver, San Diego, Steelers, maybe KC, etc.. long list. food for thought - Cassel needs a guy like Fred.. Taylor and EJ? not so much..
  15. my thoughts are that with either Taylor or Manuel at QB - rather than Cassell - Roman will be able to spread the D to achieve multiple mis-matches in to run or pass. he will be aggressive until he can't be, and when the scoreboard and field position favors us, Ryan is going to let the dogs out. under such circumstances, i can't think of an opposing QB or O lineman who'd want to be on the field with our pass rush edit - consider being behind this 8-ball before half-time.. this is when games spin out of control for OCs
  16. easy does it.. but yeah, i think the FO is as surprised as the fanbase.. are we seeing our tickets out of purgatory? we'll see..
  17. i think all this 'ground and pound' talk was motivated by his doubts in the QB situation - just like the Jets.. he and Roman will attack how and when they can.. and we're right back to who gives them a more dynamic O
  18. looks like a couple of guys here could start assisting Coach Roman
  19. ..and let Shady and Fred slash them edit.. this is roman's O.. more men at the poa
  20. Nobody's torn.. it's a playmaker's league. with 3 (actually 4) guys who've all shown they can distribute the ball from the pocket - unless there's some major flaw in their games - you start the most dynamic playmaker, and back him up with the second. I'd be shocked if our 1 & 2 isn't Taylor & Manuel.
  21. practice is where each QB was asked to make the right decision where to go with the ball.. mistakes were corrected in the film room.. away from the media. maybe the experts now regret not asking Rex or Roman how far EJ was from where they wanted him.. they wouldn't be looking as clueless now, if they had.
