  1. According to the NFL Draft Chart, the 20th team (Giants) would have to ante up their 1st and 2nd round picks to equal value forthe Bills 12th pick overall.

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/ins...%3fid%3d2410670

The Draft Chart reveals that teams need to ante up for Bills 1st rounder:

    20-23 = 1st & 2nd round picks

    24-25 = 1st & 2nd & 3rd round picks

    26-27 = 1st & 2nd & 3rd & 4th round picks

28-32 = All Draft Picks (Round 1 to Round 7)

Interesting Giants pick at number 20?

  2. Moss is not a leader but needs someone he can look up to and "in the eye" when he's not giving a 100 %.

Favre would be a great move for Moss and GB.

There defense seems to have improved, and they just need a RB to be able to make some noise in the weak NFC.

Playoff games equal alot extra money for the team, so a Moss can get them in one.

  3. Someone said in another post that next year there will quite a few RB's.

This year Mcgahee is the most deirable for any team trying to fill in a RB position quickly. With RB's in surplus next year, SD might let turner go at a reduced rate in draft picks since he wont play behind LT much and that next year his value will drop even more.

SD & the Bills could make it a 2nd pick this year and 3rd next year.

I'm keeping an eye on this RB.

  4. I'll never understand this " yea, we'll just pick up our starting running back in the 2nd or 3rd round" talk.

    .......

I don't think this is a deep draft at RB. Big Problem

have to agree. maybe bills just get a stop gap solution this year, soldify defense and let them mature another year and go BIG time for a starting RB next year.

Why not trade next years 1st rounder to get a RB this year (draft or turner)?

  5. Pick—Team----Top Needs In Priority Order------------Pick-----------(Who Fell?)

    1 Oakland--------QB, WR-OT----------------------------RUSSELL QB (Johnson WR)

2 Detroit--------- DE OT-OG-OC------------------------THOMAS OT (Or Trades Down)

    3 Cleveland------RB DT OT-OG-------------------------PETERSON RB (Branch DT)

4 Tampa Bay-----WR-DT--------------------------------JOHNSON WR (Branch DT)

    5 Arizona---------DE OT FS------------------------------ANDERSON DE (Adams DE)

    6 Washington----DE ILB DT-----------------------------BRANCH DT (Adams DE)

    7 Minnesota------WR WR TE-----------------------------JARRETT WR (Ginn WR)

8 Houston---------RB RB OT DT CB (Wild card)-------LYNCH RB (Okoye /Hall CB)

9 Miami------------QB DT ILB OT OC Wild Card)------QUINN QB (Okoye /Willis ILB)

    10 Atlanta---------DE FS OT-----------------------------LANDRY FS (Adams DE)

    11 San Fran------DT WR---------------------------------GINN WR (Okoye DT)

LEFT FOR BILLS: Okoye DT, Willis ILB, Hall CB, Brown OT, Adams DE, and Tradedown.

    FACTORS:

If Oakland goes with Jamarcus Russell, Okoye falls because Tampa Bay would then take the higher rated Calvin Johnson and put off taking a DT until RD#2.

We signed Kelsay because AZ and WASH will take out the top rated DE’s. Washington needs a rush DE more than a cover-2 ILB, so Willis falls.

Minnesota’s need for WR’s is deep, so they will take a WR. SF will take the other if they don’t take Okoye.

Houston’s need at RB is huge, and they’ll latch onto Lynch. They could go with priority #2 and take OT Brown, Hall at CB, or Okoye.

Watch Washington at 6. They could grab Willis, Okoye, or Gaines Adams, but if Branch falls past Cleveland and T-Bay, they’ll take Branch, leaving the others to us.

I think Houston will pull the upset of the draft and take brady quinn. Carr is expendable. Houston will then listen to Miami and any other team in that 15 minutes to see if they want quinn bad enough to bundle a couple of 1st rounders or 1st & 2nd. Then they will

keep quinn, trade carr (they have lundi who has shown some ablity at RB), or keep carr and then take the best player available.

  6. I am from the charger area and I can tell you...

This guy is the real deal.....he is starting material

What it the case of Turner picking up garbage yards? Is this RB just an overhyped backup living in the shadows of LT?

Or as you say "the real deal" and since you probably saw all his games, gives us a "why" you think he's good?

  7. I am from the charger area and I can tell you...

This guy is the real deal.....he is starting material

In the 2008 season, he will be second in total rushing yards (only to LT).

SD wants to cash in on this guy because he's too valuable to be a backup RB. That's why in the bills website they said that SD is shopping him around for draft picks.

  8. nowhere in this story does it say that the Bills are interested in Turner. all it says is that the Bills will not go after Turner because of the compensation that will likely be involved. so don't worry about giving up too much for him. they won't be giving up anything to get him.

I didn't see anything from a bills response that they were not interested.

Turner pulled off a 6.something yards average per carry.

A career back? LOL - u think LT had something to do with that?

If it came down to adrian peterson at pick number 12 or throwing the 1st to SD for turner, i would hope they took turner.

  9. Your post makes complete sense but I would differ in one point; which position (s) should you pay the possible 8-11 million to get the most out of your franchise? Giving it to nate or stopping the run and maybe a FA CB for the same money? I think that you have to look what a playoff game is worth in revenue, difficulty in getting into the playoffs (Broncos), and will those players adapt and buy into the team concept?

If they don't bring him back, lets see if they can get more return on the 8-11 million in other areas.

  10. Maybe because he is not a full-time player like Schobel. He platoons with Denney quite often. I would agree that the Schobel-Kelsay/Denney "duo" is pretty nice.

I like Kelsay and I think he is on the rise, but usually "great duos" are pairs of superior, full-time players. Something the Schobel-Kelsay tandem has yet to be. Hopefully, this will change as Kelsay improves further.

Very impressed with Kelsay's response on the Bills home website. He was HAPPY to be a bill and loves the college type atmosphere here in WNY. It's not like he says all the right things, but actually means it.

Glad to see Marv get 1 of his boys.

  11. I agree with the premise that we don't "need" Clements for $50 million, but I am continually baffled by many peoples' opinion here that we are okay with:

    1. McGee at #1

    2. Youbouty at anything

We've seen what McGee looks like when trying to cover a bona-fide #1 WR (I think he is still looking for Roy Williams) and what possible inkling has Ashton Youbouty given you that he can be even a #2? I see no reason why he can't progress into a good starting CB, but to me that would be like letting Jason Peters go because we have Brad Butler waiting in the wings.

If the Bills brass think Youboty is ready, then that is good enough for me. But there is no way anyone who does not evaluate him for a living knows nearly enough to have an informed opinion on his readiness....IMO.

I forgot which game it was, but jauron took out mcgee for a "REST"; he was getting killed all game by the opposing QB. I don't think for a minute that they are going to give mcgee top billing, unless they feel the safteys and pass rush will give him more help in the secondary. This will be interesting how they go about this and they havn't tipped their hat publicly; seems they know what they want to do but not to let any1 else until after the FA & Draft.

Who said off season is boring.

  12. So what do you think Schobel`s thinking about this deal ? The part time D-end is making more than the PRO-BOWLER. :worthy:

If he's smart , he's thinking "Great, he knows the system, might get alot better, and the Bills will get alot better. All of that will help me cash in when my turn comes around."

  13. He's fast and is pretty good at getting sacks and hurrying the qb. He's and Schobel make a pretty good team at DE. This contract makes sense.

Apparently Marv thinks so too! They must think he has alot of potential and he will fit in nicely in their defense. It's not always HOW talented, but how you USE it!

The only two concerns of present players that I had was McGahee & clements; one doesn't earn his pay and the other too expensive to keep. The rest, have faith in Marv.

  14. ... but note the disparity in the sack yardage. Interesting. As I said in my earlier post, I think that shows the later sacks were more from JP scrambles, not as many flat-out whiffs by the OL - he apparently had time to get back toward the line of scrimmage on most of them, instead of getting blindsided 10 yards deep in the backfield on a regular basis.

Makes sense but they have stats for everything (weather, night games, MNF games,.....) , why not have a stat when the QB throws the ball away and when the QB gets sacked after running out of the pocket? I would really like to see those stats on young QB's since they would indicate where the problem is on a particuliar play (QB or OL).

Since we can all play with data to make our points stronger, I would still say that the 8 game split indicated less sacks, more TD's, and higher Pass average attempt; usually a sign of all 3 traits from a better OL.

Those positives don't side with any RB improvement tho. That was my main concern.

  15. RB McGahee

    1st half-----YPR -----TD-----Fumb-----Plays >= 15 Yards

    --------------3.8 ------1--------1----------------5-----------

    2st half-----YPR -----TD-----Fumb-----Plays >= 15 Yards

    --------------3.6 ------5--------3----------------2-----------

I like to know what formula you used because according to this

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6359/splits

    Rushing Receiving Fumbles

Situation G Rush Yds Y/G Avg TD Rec Yds Y/G Avg Lng YAC 1stD TD Fum FumL

    Games 1-8 8 154 579 72.4 3.8 1 14 127 15.9 9.1 56 11.7 3 0 1 0

    Games 9-16 6 105 411 68.5 3.9 5 4 29 4.8 7.3 19 12.3 1 0 3 2

Not necessarily disputing your stats and I appreciate the breakdown just curious how you came up with what you did.

You are correct. McGahee YAVG in 2nd half was 3.9; still less than the 4.0 median average for the whole league. My mistake was using 115 carries instead of 105.

What would of A-Train's average have been had he been allowed to start against the jets twice? Jets had an 4.6 average per carry against them. The only thing worse is that the Bill's had 4.7!!!!
