Anyone defending Sheppard is just not paying attention--he is just overwhelmed right now...he can't even disengage from a full back or tight end...he makes very few proper reads...sadly mckilop is better right now, but he's not nearly the athlete needed for that position...it is a very big problem right now...forget left tackle or second wr...or even qb, this is priority #1...I would be shocked if he has anything similar saturday to his last performance if we did not find veteran or just demote for mckilip or Morrison Not me

agree..my only hope is when weather turns we will utilize him more...no reason to go empty backfield on third and one when he Smith is on your team...especially when Fitz does not have his "A" game ...

Lynch can only make the roster if he is primary back--if you are the number two or three back you have to contribute on special teams...obviously Fred and CJ do that...trust me johnny white will too, this year...so he was either number one or out the door...yes they should have pulled trigger sooner but it pales in comparison to what they did with edwards vs fitz...the only chance Chan had of making team competitive out of the gate was if Edwards and Lynch played lights out..they did not and team lost first eight games....I hope that helps you understand the process..

you can't go 4 for 20 and be a top pick...I must admit Luck has looked the part, but no way another stanford qb coming here...mallett has to be the target guy and he has "opportunity" this week to improve stock tremendously. One thing to score aainst Georgia, but he is not likely to get good numbers vs Alabama...if he keeps them in it until the end and makes enough plays, barring injury or a 3 on the wonderlic test he would cement the top pick. Of course 10-30 with three picks and a 20 point loss muddles the whole picture. Bottom line he has a chance to show world he is elite and/or special...I am very interested to see if he pulls it off.
