  1. we just gotta get you a post-game gig near the stadium -- just gotta poke around...
  2. The FCC only regulates things said on air, thus there would be no argument.
  3. Yep, my wife is very pregnant, so I had to sell my tix to the last game. Put em on craiglist for "only" 25% above face value @ 10:45 Thursday night, had 7 call & texts, plus 2 emails by midnight. Had to put my phone on silent because I really didn't plan to hear anything until the morning. It will be the games in December that sellout because we are in the playoff hunt that give the team the money to go out and get a big time free agent - and a winning team might just convince some players to wanna come here.
  4. also, in that sense McGee wouldn't count because he is not on IR.
  5. Reggie Bush is a poor man's Darren Sproles
  6. Yes, that must be it. Damn Buddy's been screwing things up for this team years before he got here.
  7. Good Lord, do we really have to do this again this year???
  8. Man, it sure is easy to criticize 6th round picks. If the guy was bigger & ran faster, he probably would've been drafted earlier.
  9. putting us through this? how are they putting us through anything? it's not our paycheck that is potentially going to be lost. not our healthcare. the only thing happening to us is that we have to turn the channel or find something else to do on Sundays if nothing is worked out. as much as i love football, i think i can deal with that.
  10. Cannot trade draft picks for players, or players for draft picks, but draft picks for draft picks is all good.
  11. If Peterson is available when the Bills comes around, it will be the perfect opportunity to trade down because you'll have lots of teams wanting to make sure they grab either Amukamara or PPete.
  12. Takes a long time to run around him when his arms are fully extended?
  13. it is simply impossible to whiff on a 7th round pick. you can hope to get lucky, like the Bills have with Stevie Johnson. but, when it comes to 7th rounders, their expectations are about the same as UFA's. some work out, some don't. they aren't gonna stick just because they were drafted. but, these are the same scouts that unearthed David Nelson, Antonio Coleman, Cordaro Howard, Donald Jones and Naaman Roosevelt as undrafted rookies this year alone. so, it would be a bad idea to fire the scouts over a 7th round pick. don't get wrapped up in how quickly they cut Calloway -- after all, they cut the cord pretty quickly with Trent once they realized he couldn't play. this front office obviously saw something in person over the course of OTA's and the start of training camp that told them the kid couldn't cut it in the NFL and they acted decisively. but again, you whiff in the early part of the draft. it's absolutely impossible to whiff in the the 7th round. no harm, no foul....
  14. Calloway was the 2nd of their 7th round picks, which means he was just a hair away from being undrafted. Not sure how this means the Bills whiffed or blew it. They kept Cordaro Howard instead, who went undrafted, because he was more versatile and athletic.
  15. Except the timeout would have been called before the pitch was even thrown, nothing that happens after that matters.
  16. I say it is no different than the 4th & 1 play when Haley called timeout a split second before Cassell dove over the line for a 1st down. The timeout wiped the play out, because it didn't happen, because the timeout was called before the ball was snapped. You can't call timeout after the ball is snapped, so why should it matter whether you are lined up for a field goal, a punt or any other play? A team has the right to call a timeout before the ball is snapped on any play. Not fair? Please.....
  17. actually, dealerships make money when you use their finance department, so you probably would have had more leverage and could have saved yourself some extra money off the price of the car if you said, "i'll give you $29,000 AND i'll finance with you." and, really, the answer isn't simple. theoretically, financing with the rates available today is the correct way to go. when done properly, you will end up with more money in your pocket in the end. however, for most people it's not about the math and they cannot handle their money, but feel great comfort in not having to pay one more bill every month. to each his own.
  18. which means we just got Andre Reed, Bruce Smith & Frank Reich this year, Jim Kelly, Kent Hull, Will Wolford & Steve Tasker to begin 2011, with Marv Levy coming in halfway thru next year, and Cornelius Bennett & Shane Conlon the year after that. there's something to look forward to....
  19. maybe not the best examples JR, since they do have Matt Schaub and Tony Romo throwing the ball their way. Shaun Hill to Calvin Johnson, now that works. Derek Anderson/Max Hall to Larry Fitzgerald, man, i feel sorry for that guy....but, i hear what you are saying. all of those guys are also big and physical. they create openings with their physicality, speed and route running. and yes, they have a QB willing and able to squeeze the ball in when they are double covered. Evans has the speed, questionably the route running, and definitely not the physicality nor the QB. he can go over the middle better than most think, but that really is dependent on the threat of the deep ball. Edwards didn't provide that, a leaky O-Line doesn't help and no one Evans is a #2/#3 masquerading on this team as a #1. put him in the ideal situation and he will put up the 65 rec/1100 yds/8tds you saw when JP was slinging the ball his way (by no means am i saying i miss JP). nothing about this Bills offense screams ideal, to which Evans becomes lost. Evans needs help, the great ones don't. David Nelson, on the other hand, has been a revelation. he will never be a #1 WR either, but as a tall guy who runs great routes and finds seams in the middle of the field, he will be a nice complement to whoever that #1 guy becomes. with so many holes to fill, when we get that guy is anyone's guess. if Matt Millen was running this team, he'd draft AJ Green next year....
  20. Some very nice throws dissecting the middle of the Cowboys D and he definitely is mobile. But, the ball doesn't come out of his hand cleanly half the time producing wobbly inaccurate mid-to-deep passes. Forced the ball too many times into tight coverage and double teams, hence the 4 INT's, with a nearly a couple more. And yes, a big fumble when scrambling, securing the ball poorly, resulting in a pivotal fumble return for TD. Plenty of talent, lots of mistakes. Some are curable, but add a long windup delivery to poor decision making and you get a prospect who realistically should learn to play WR, but will be gone by the end of the 3rd round due to his athleticism and "high-ceiling".
  21. You missed nothing because there was actually absolutely nothing new. Speculation may have intensified, but it already high before the game, before he was "featured". No new developments, just people finding a way to make 1+1=3.
  22. i think he read all the other posts but skipped over the ones the talk about our owner being the problem. also, he forgot to mention the "Bills moving to (Toronto, LA, etc.) talk. that would cover all the bases and then leave everyone with absolutely nothing to talk about.
  23. key word: among from same link "Per NFLPA records, his base salaries under the new deal are $630,000 in 2010, $950,000 in 2011, and $900,000 in 2012. Information as to bonuses and guarantees is not yet available."
  24. so, i guess NOW it is safe to say that the Housh speculation is finally over.
