Did Buffalo strike gold at pick 41 with Cordy Glenn?

Let's face it, at the end of the day, aren't all threads really about Russell Wilson? -

So you could have both Wilson and Graham and end the debate for good. -

I agree, then they could have had Wilson and Graham. -
Did Cris Carter just make it easier for Andre to get into HOF?
nichebiche replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bingo, you are correct! Each year, Reed made into the final round of voting and both Carter and Brown did not. At that point in the voting, they weren't splitting votes. -
Did anybody else notice during the presser that...

Not to mention, of course, that Branch is from Louisville. But anyways, Floyd was a man among boys. Even with inferior QBs and the other knowing that he was getting the ball, he couldn't be stopped. Up until Weis took over the program was always run heavy. That tells the rest of the story as to why the Irish haven't produced many WRs. -
Claiborne - possible slip to #10?
nichebiche replied to roccitybillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ran 4.39 40 today, I guess there are nothing wrong with his legs. Of all the news released concerning Morris Claiborne today, my guess that 40 time is what the GM's were paying attention to. -
And are spending on guys whose main objective was the money. If that was the case for a certain DE, he would be signed by now.

read a snippet about the Giants Osi today
nichebiche replied to 3rdand12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would happily trade this year's 3rd & 5th (still have 5th for Marshawn). That would allow us to fill other needs in 1st 2 rounds (WR, LT, OLB, CB). Would the Giants make that trade? -
i figured i'd reference the guy who seems to do the best job of predicting the comp picks every year to settle this. AdamJT13 says, "In order to qualify for the comp equation, a player must have been a true Unrestricted Free Agent whose contract had expired or was voided after the previous season (i.e., he cannot have been released by his old team); he must sign during the UFA signing period (which ended July 27 last year); if he signs after June 1, he must have been tendered a June 1 qualifying offer by his old team; his compensatory value or contract value must be above a specific minimum amount; and he cannot have been permanently released by his new team before a certain point in the season (which seems to be after Week 10) or, possibly, before getting a certain amount of playing time, unless he was claimed off waivers by another team." Based on this, Barnett does not qualify for the comp equation. He was released by his old team, so he was not a true Unrestricted Free Agent. He does not qualify, period. Not for the Packers, not for the Bills. If a free agent "qualifies", he counts for the old team and the new team. If he does not "qualify", he does not count for either team. As for Kirk Morrison, he signed for $1.1 mil, above the vet minimum, but signed on Aug. 24th, a month after free agency began but only 2 weeks before the season started. As you said, the timing is unclear, but my guess is that he does not qualify to count against the Bills since he was one of the last true free agents to sign.

Not true. If he doesn't count against the Packers, how can he count against the Bills? As in all aspects of sports, you must a "L" to offset a "W". Kinda like accounting.... Barnett was cut by the Packers, thus he does not count against them - that is true. Because he was cut, he was not a unrestricted free agent as a result of to lapsed contract with his former team unable to sign him when he signed with another team. He was a UFA because his former team terminated his contract, thus they aren't due any potential compensation. Barnett cannot count against the Bills for the same reason. The equation needs to balance on both sides.

Edwards, Dwan... should be cut?

This is something I was unaware about with McCargo. He must have kept it on the down low. -
Bills re sign LS Garrison Sanborn
nichebiche replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said, hopefully he is just training camp fodder and they draft his replacement. At least, that's what my source tells me will happen. I think the more important question is this: when will the Bills get themselves a franchise fullback? I mean, CMac can put a lick a guy on special teams & blocks pretty well, but he's not in every play and they clearly don't trust him to carry or catch the ball. -
Bills re sign LS Garrison Sanborn

hopefully he was just brought back as training camp competition. i would still take another LS no later than the 4th round. -
Brandon Lloyd as a possible fit?
nichebiche replied to billrooter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lloyd flat out said after the season he will go wherever McDaniels goes, that he knows how to best use Lloyd's talents. He'll look pretty good with Brady throwing him the ball, a 4th option with all their other weapons. -
Bills compensatory draft picks in 2012
nichebiche replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
just as Maybin was waived, so too was Barnett. he was entering the 4th year of a 6 yr/35 mil deal extension. we did sign Thigpen & Brad Smith, both UFA's. however, the picks are determined by salary & playing time, not where they were drafted. Poz & Whitner were both full-time starters, with 6 yr/45 mil & 3 yr/12 mil deals respectively. Thigpen has only sniffed the field in mop-up duty and Smith hasn't exactly been a full-time player with 3 yr/11 mil & 4 yr/15 mil deals. the Bills should be in line for a decent comp pick or two. -
Colts still have to win next week because they hold the SOS tiebreaker advantage. If the Rams do end up with the 1st pick, I can see them taking Luck and trading Bradford, just as you suggest the Vikings could do with Ponder. The Browns would be an ideal trade partner, with 2 1sts this year and would reunite Bradford with his former OC Pat Shurmer.

I'm confused. Is a troll the newest addition to the game of chess? Us older guys are probably out of touch. If that is the case, who is the troll? Jasper -- don't feed him after midnight, or else he turns into a troll? No wait, I think he would be a gremlin. I got it, it's our DC Edwards -- don't feed him at all so we can bring in a new guy next year. Moorman so he keeps his speed? Am i warm at all?

Posts like these are one of the few worthwhile reasons to visit TBD to talk about football. Well said, OP, a much needed discussion to debunk the years of complaining. It will be interesting to see what happens if McKelvin signs elsewhere.
