Who is this McCargo guy? Is he a street free agent pressed into duty?
-
It's not different. It's their game-plan...blitz hard and let it get picked up. Then, don't blitz and wear down in the fourth.
-
Who plays MLB is Posluszny is hurt? Is the LB coach have this as an additional duty in his contract.
-
Yes, and he's had almost zero pressure today.
-
great play calling for a concussion prone QB
-
Or being forced to move your starting SS to OLB. The only move that looks good is a DB in Byrd. Surprise surprise.

A true Bills fan appreciates just being in the RZ, even if they only get a FG.
-
I've never seen DJ that furious. He wasn't clapping, but he made some gestures that I think showed he was irate over the half not ending. If this keeps up, he may raise his voice.

This OL hurts or just kills more drives. For a front office to hope and sell three rookies as viable starters at the same time tells you all we need to know.
-
I'll get flamed for it, but Tennessee's secondary has been a wreck this year. A good team should be shredding them and it's nice to see the Bills exploit their opponent's weakness.

Levitre is being abused today.

This team has not sustained a drive since I can't remember when, aside from the RB throwing a TD pass. I get the feeling they've scored all the points they will today, unless Lindell kicks a 50 yarder after a turnover.
-
VY beating this team through the air and Johnson running equals a big TEN offense. BTW, the OL stinks. Pressure up the middle.

I saw that as well. JMO, but his days in Buffalo are numbered.

Vic Carucci says Bills to make major changes
BillsVet replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll contend that that Wilson and Brandon don't have a lot of contacts throughout the NFL. And I think RW's background meddling and lack of trust in front office types will indeed ward off a lot of good GM and HC candidates. Those items combined will make it a tough search, because no one in their right mind with credibility and something to prove comes into this wasteland. That is, if they decide to replace the HC and find a real GM. Just replacing the HC won't be enough. They've got to find a GM that knows what he's doing or else the neverending story of this team stinking will go on. -

When's the last time the Pats, Colts, or Steelers signed a bad UFA or re-signed a bad player? Teams that make lots of mistakes like the Bills are stuck in neutral or rebuilding. It takes a lot of bad decisions to be out of the playoffs for a decade. -

Other than RW, who do you blame for this decade of incompetence? He may spend, but it's what this team is spending on that drives intelligent fans crazy. Millions on Derrick Dockery, Robert Royal, Langston Walker, Chris Kelsay, et al and we can't keep our decent players. This has happened because the decision makers are either non-football people like Littman and Brandon or ineffective personnel evaluators. So I blame RW for keeping or putting these people in charge. -

Jerry Sullivan has said many times that he can't read RW, and he speaks with him more than just about any member of the media. The team is so bad and mired in mediocrity that if they go the cheap route and replace very little, it exposes them for being unconcerned with winning and the season ticket base will wither away. And if they play up the angle that fans aren't supporting the team, well, so be it because that's a ridiculous assertion. I hope Vic is right, because anything less ain't cutting it. -

I feel the same way, because while tailgating before the game is fun, I go to watch football first. And if they can't make a commitment toward winning, I can't make a reciprocal move toward the team. I'd prefer to watch at home and not spend an entire day anticipating, watching, and then complaining about the team. Carucci pointed out something noteworthy in that they've been going with the entry level approach for too long. Either put our chips in or step away from the table. Being in the game without a real shot is no longer an option. -
Forbes: The Business of Football

I think RW has less control than we think, with people like Littman and to a lesser extent Berchtold guarding him from the media. But I agree Littman is controlling the direction of the team in order to maximize revenue and keep debt to value low for prospective buyers. This off-season will give us a window into where this team is headed. If they fail to re-structure the front office with real football people, it's an indication their objective remains to ride it out and let the chips fall where they may when the owner passes. -
I don't see RW giving up the title of president. If he trusted RB as much as you think he is, it probably would make sense, but I think RW has gone into a shell as he's aged.
-
Fixed that for you. Or we could leave it the same for those fans who ignore rather than remember how going a decade without the playoffs is reality in Billsland. The roster is not better, perhaps worse, than the one Levy/Jauron inherited in early 2006. This one might be younger, but it's not going to the playoffs either.
-
Scott at LB is a microcosm of what's wrong with this team. Desperate moves like changing a SS into a LB and back show this team hasn't rebuilt sh!* since Levy/Jauron came in almost four years ago. The roster is made up of so many NFL journeymen who wouldn't suit up for playoff teams. The Leon Joe's of 07 have been replaced with the Marcus Buggs' of 09. I have no doubt most injuries occur because smaller (and supposedly faster) players are being beat up at or near the LOS. Scott, Whitner, Ellison, Buggs, Palmer, et al are sub 225 pound guys get ripped up trying to get their noses in with the bigger OL and TE's.

How do you build moving forward
BillsVet replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you look at the Steelers, Patriots, and Colts high round picks this decade it's far and away better than the bottom feeders. The reason is indeed management, most notably a personnel structure led by someone who knows what they're doing. Whether it's director of football ops Kevin Colbert in PIT, Bill Polian with Indy, or a Belichick paired with a Pioli or Reese in NE, they have their people in place. Meanwhile, the Bills don't even know what to do offensively or defensively. How can a dysfunctional management structure find players for a coaching staff which can't figure out what to do? This team is further away in 09 than they were in 05 from making the playoffs. -

Name the last second round QB this decade who's become an outstanding signal caller? The only one I can find is Drew Brees, and he was the first pick in the second of 2001. The best QB's (cue the Brady exception poster) are found in Round 1. It's downright horrifying to think the current front office may have the chance to pick a QB. That's even worse than having to see Edwards back in 2010 starting.
