  1. Not to mention they converted from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and even found players to fit that scheme. When the front office and coaching staff are on the same page, amazing things like being the top defensive unit in the NFL can happen. But then there's Buddy, who admitted he's scouting and trusts that Chan will get things taken care of. No wonder this team is going nowhere fast.
  2. Perhaps the players look at their leadership and question who's sailing this ship. Gailey and Wannstedt haven't done jack in the NFL since the 90s. Curtis Modkins is a glorified coffee fetcher, and the many of the other position coaches are Gailey cronies. Meanwhile, the GM was retired and the owner is never around. They have talent, but not at the positions which matter most like QB, CB, WR.
  3. Nix hired Gailey and signed off on jettisoning Edwards for Wannstedt. He is directly responsible, and that's before we even begin discussing the 2010 and 2011 drafts which so far aren't in-line with a guy some people once called "a top 5 talent evaluator." They have exactly 1 decent contributor from the 2010 draft and 2011 is heading downhill fast. Maybe it was all A.J. Smith in SD and Buddy was just along for the ride after all.
  4. I'm not sure if it's Gailey, Nix, or both who settled on Fitzpatrick. Either way, combined they're 0 fer on QB decisions in less than 3 seasons. First Trent, and now RF as the starters not to mention the acquisitions of Thigpen, VY, and T Jack.
  5. Well Bill, DJ should be available after the season when we predictably need another DC. Maybe Buddy was scouting players and coaches this weekend on his west coast sojurn. Either way at this point it feels like this is a runaway train that no one can stop.
  6. Wannstedt's already quit at least one job in his career.
  7. So Buddy is being out-done by the guys he fired? Modrak and Guy? Awesome.
  8. He can't pick up the playbook by the end of the season. Way to avoid a QB controversy...just say the other option can't learn fast enough. This is what we've devolved into.
  9. No one wanted the HC job, Harbaugh being one of them. Buffalo has become NFL Siberia and no career minded personnel guy or HC will go there. No one. They could offer Cowher part of the team and it wouldn't be enough. RW has never adjusted, and his suing Philips, hiring Levy, promoting Brandon, and hiring Nix demonstrates that.
  10. I'd ask them that what their strategy is now that no GM in the past decade has been able to win. That goes for the times they were ultra-cheap and now that they're spending big dollars. Nothing they've done works, and that includes hiring Buddy Nix. Too bad no one else will take the job and we end up with castoffs at GM and HC.
  11. No, they're bad. From owner on down to roster player 53.
  12. At least the Bills scored more than the Jets did last week against SF.
  13. Now Mario on the right side? They couldn't do that last week?
  14. Moats out Bradham in? Personnel wise this team continues to be a work in progress after 3 off-seasons.
  15. Really pathetic. I think Chan blames this one on his scratchy beard.
  16. Fitz is either short or long on all his sideline passes. And when he completes one it usually takes effort on the receiver's part.
  17. why is kelvin sheppard a starter on this team? Terrible angle there.
  18. Kelvin Sheppard is strictly a 2 down LB and a liability in coverage. And don't give me that it's Vernon Davis stuff. He looks horrible in the open field.
  19. A lot of people on this board underestimated the massive price a team pays for switching schemes as frequently as Buffalo has under Nix. And if a GM can't get that decision right, what does that say about his ability to build a football team? Nix has had 3 drafts, plenty of UFA dollars, and, of course, those waiver wire acquisitions.
  20. The other thing I've noticed is Gailey tells us that Williams was double teamed against NE. All-22 film shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Williams was primarily single blocked on every snap.
  21. What is hard to understand is how with 4 years of starting tape on Fitzpatrick, the Bills chose to ignore (again) the most important position on the field. Meanwhile, there are 10 guys in their rookie or second season starting at QB in the NFL. And you talk about Fitzpatrick's stats getting to those levels without seeing 3/4ths of the NFL season. Heck, if you predicted his stats after 4 games last season, he'd have gone for 4,160 yards, 36 TD's and 12 INT's. Quantifying QB success with raw numbers like yards passing, TD passes, and INT's is so passe.
