  1. If anyone wants me to take the original tape (including pre-game material, Gulf War breakaways, commercials, and post-game festivities) and include everything on 2 DVDs, let me know and I'll do that.

Actually, Fez, maybe I should do that anyway in case someone wants a double-sided disk?

Anyway, if that's an interesting proposal, let me know. If enough folks respond, I'll try to do it. Shouldn't be too hard.

I would take one. Just let me know where/when to mail you some cash.

  2. nationwide shortage eh? hopefully these jobs are still around in a year

If your grades are good enough, you could probably find a company willing to hire you without a degree that would also pay for your schooling part-time to finish it.

Doctor offices have been doing that around here. They'll pay for a persons school, as long as that person signs an agreement to work for them for several years after graduation.

As hundreds line up for jobs at Lockheed Martin, smaller companies may lose out.

More than 700 people interviewed for engineering jobs at Lockheed Martin Tuesday. But good news for Lockheed could be bad news for smaller local companies.

The nationwide shortage of engineers is playing out in companies across Central New York as workers jump from one job to the next, local business people said.

Lockheed Martin, in Salina, needs 500 engineers in a variety of disciplines - right away - to handle multimillion-dollar defense contracts. Syracuse Research Corp., in Cicero, needs 150 workers, mostly engineers, for positions across the country.

  4. Career changes, not sure. Job changes, over 20 since I first started working at 14. This includes all the summer jobs, and school jobs. Until my current job, I haven't worked longer than 3 years at any company. This May will be my 5yr anniversary.

  5. The only downside is that, since the Gulf War had just recently started, there are a few interruptions of the game so we miss some plays (including the last fieldgoal, Talley's second INT, etc).

For me, I would actually like to have the news breaks included. To me, that's part of what I remember watching the game, going from the highs of how the team is doing, to the low of wondering if everything is going okay in the Gulf.

  6. It's funny, Kelly never really gets into those type of conversations...I guess he was never looked at as a QB that carried the team on his back, and really I guess never did - always surrounded buy a good squad.

So true, Kelly had a great supporting team. Yes he was the QB, but look at how many big name players he had around him. Now we have teams that have one or two big name, well paid players, and the rest of the team goes with the flow. Luckily with the salary cap we don't have situations like baseball or hockey were a few teams can buy all the players they want.

  7. My one idea would be to not allow the purchase of alcohol to someone who is obviously intoxicated. Give the venders the same athority as any bartender.

The problem is, the vendors need to sell beer, so they wont cut anyone off.

That wouldn't solve much, but it would help get rid of the liability held by the stadium.

However, Darin is right. People need to be responsible for themselves.

They will choose not to sell someone beer if they are intoxicated. At the Steelers game I saw this happen at one of the vendors while I was waiting for my onion rings. This kid, probably early 20's, wanted two beers but the vendor wouldn't sell them to him because:

    1) He had no ID on him

    2) He was visibly intoxicated, slurring speech, wobbling while standing, etc.

He spent about 3-4 minutes trying to get the guy to sell him a beer. Nothing he said was going to work.

  8. I'd really have to choose between five...and I can assure you virtually no one on this board will agree with any of them.

    (3) Harry Chapin: Greatest Stories Live. Features outstanding versions of "30,000 Pounds of Bananas," "A Better Place To Be" and "Mr. Tanner."
