Bills weren't in position to 'demand' anything. If they hadn't traded Peter's before the draft they would have had to put up with the unproductive fool for another year, likely.

Peter's proven to me he has a tremendous lack of character and stupid to boot. I don't see how you can go wrong getting rid of these types no matter what the so-called talent level.

Maybe the Bills decided, not some freaking fan, that Peters was not close to being worth what he and his agent were demanding. If anyone got hosed, it was the Eagles.

A decent rookie won't be much below and perhaps better than what Peters produced last season.

I wonder if any team has tried the tactic of taking up to four checks away from a player for conduct detrimental to team unity. Peters comes back at game 10 and the Bills take the next 4 checks or at least one so he can't make his minimum for contract compliance. If there would be anyone deserving of this ploy, it would be Peters. Of course, this would bring on a fight with the union, but if it up to me, I'd do it.

What's new is the background impression that the FO has totally given up on the idea of dealing rationally with Peters. That comes in loud and clear, assuming Tim has a little insider info.

Don't you sense that the FO does not believe they will get full on field value back from Peters if they max out his contract without incentives?? I believe the FO doesn't trust Peters to deliver without significant incentives ( I wouldn't ). He has shown zero good faith in the last 18 months or so. There must always be something left on the table for this guy because I think that he has a severe character flaw regarding fulfilling contracts.

Ok, let's put him on the market and see what the interest is. If we get no reasonable offers that would pretty much indicate his true value, wouldn't it?

Everyone has their pricepoint and Peters isn't in the Bills ballpark. The guy doesn't have the smarts to ask for a tiered contract depending on performance. He'll wind up being traded and getting less than he would have by staying a Bill.

Can't put myself in his position. I've never considered myself a greedy lazy bastard. If were going to ask for the Moon, I'd at least show I cared about something other than payday.
