I give the first two picks a D - Considering we could have had Ngata, Danieal Manning or Marcus McNeill, and our 3rd rounder- I give the rest of the Draft an A.

Nice resource more updated than the one I was using

The Problem is that this is a very thin class of Free agents and some of the best of them are former Bills- I Know no one wants to hear this but there is a very good chance we will lose more talent than we will gain from free-agency.

Donte Stallworth is signed until after 2007- where did you get he was a FA? - link please

The Bills were laughed at over their first two picks- Whitner over Ngata and trading a 2nd and 3rd to move up to take McCargo- most draft experts praised the picks of Youboty, Simpson, and Williams- if Whitner or McCargo become stars then it will be a great draft otherwise I'm unimpressed- the Bills were 7-9, the fact the Bills had as much contribution from this draft class is more a testament to how little talent Tommy D left this team with more than the greatness of the picks.

Analysis Arron Sears has a good deal of experience against top competition, having started the past three years on the offensive line for Tennessee in the SEC. He is a very versatile player routinely switches positions and has started at every position along the offensive line except center. He has a good combination of size and strength for an offensive lineman. He has good athleticism for a player his size. He has proven to be a great run blocker who can be dominating at times. He does have the ability to get to the second level in the running game. He displays good technique on running downs. He lacks great agility and will have problems against speed rushers coming off the edge. He needs to improve his technique in pass protection to become a more complete offensive lineman. He has had some minor ankle injuries in college which have caused him to miss a few games, but nothing serious. Arron Sears is a versatile player who could project as a guard or right tackle at the next level. He has been bounced around the offensive line quite a bit and hasn't had a chance to settle in and master any one position. Though he could play right tackle, I believe Sears would make a better guard in the NFL. He has a chance to be a first day pick in the 2007 NFL draft.

Ummm........because Peters has played well as a LT in the nfl and Pennington is 6,7 which is really tall for a guard - where Sears is 6,4 which is short for OT and good for guard.

I don't hate the Pats unless they're playing the Bills- The Pats are two things smart and Lucky - smart cause they have a very good coach and a very good GM - Lucky cause they got Tom Brady in the 6th round which was just plain dumb luck- without Brady the Pats would just be a pretty good team that is competitive most of the time, with him the coach gets labled a genius and the team gets compared with the great Steeler and 49ers teams.

Who cares how much money Synder has - the Redskins will have to do some accounting magic cause they have almost zero cap room.

You have time between the end of the college season and the combine to go on a cycle and get off long enough to test clean.

Answering your question - lets say Detroit wants a QB and a RB- they have to use their first pick on a QB and they don't think any of the RB's they really like will be there when pick in round 2 - while the Bills think they can upgrade their offense with Marshawn Lynch and think a player they want will go early in the 2nd round - Detroit want Willis but thinks their 2nd rounder is a little much - so the Bills offer their 3rd too - Bills are happy cause they think Lynch is an upgrade, and get their targeted player say Zach Miller, or Patrick Willis- Detroits happy because they get their franchise QB, an nfl proven RB and an extra 3rd pick.- see everyones happy at least until the season starts
-
Never Liked Bunkley- got big hype after the combine- here a hint played at 280 comes into the combine at 312 ripped muscle- if its so easy to put on muscle, why not do it when you're playing - ummm because they test you- that why I thought the people who liked Bunkley over Ngata where crazy- Ngata naturally huge and strong not better living through chemistry.

I really don't think any free agent DT's

I thought Ngata was a no-brainer last year - but no sense crying over the past- I think Sands could be a poor mans Ngata which would be better than what we got now - I have zero confidence in McCargo because foot injuries hang around like a curse. -
Willis and our 3rd for detroits 2nd that would be sweet but we'd have to get Lynch 12 first
-
Good talent makes for good coaches - unless the coach is a total dumbass

Me too but instead of Peerless Price

If I was Levy I'd offer next years 3rd and 4th to Carolina for Kris Jenkins and Ken Lucas- Carolina is desperate for cap room and the Bills don't want to pay a huge amount of upfront bonus money - Jenkins contract goes to 2009 and Lucas to 2010- both of them will make 3.2 mil each for 2007- I'd still go after Terdell Sands- Sands and Jenkins rotating in should allow us to continue with our smallish LBs -where else to spend money? I'd resign Gandy and Kelsay- tender players like Hargrove- I'd give serious consideration to extending Evans and Losman- I think this might be a good year to have some cap space in june, I think there might be some free agent bargins then especially at WR. -
He's played well on special teams but at one time he looked like he was going to be a pretty good WR, does he have any chance of making a real contribution as WR for the Bills next year?

How’s this for a draft strategy
billybob replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Lynch has a nice range of skills, depending on what happens in free agency I like the following- 1. Jammal Anderson DE, 2. Marshawn Lynch RB, 3.Dwayne Jarrett WR, 4. Patrick Willis LB, 5. Amobi Okoye DT, 6. Justin Blalock OL- I rated these players on 5 factors - 1.chance of being there at 12, 2. quality of player, 3. speed of development 4. strength of need. 5 difficulty of finding type player. -
with the 12th pick the Bills take Jamaal Anderson DE.
-
Ok first of all I was the original "hey we need O-line and D-line" and I wanted Ngata- history- now I want Terdell Sands DT and Adalius Thomas LB and to resign Clements- IN the draft I want Marshawn Lynch, I want to trade Willis and a pick to get Detroit"s second round pick and use that for a WR, hopefully Robert Meachem- I think Johnson, Ginn, and Jarrett will be gone but 2 out following Rice, Meachem, Bowe, or Samardzija will still be there- after that I'm looking best OG, LB, DB- to many I say stop fighting yesterday's battle.

Marshawn Lynch will be there at 12

Bills Off Season Strategy Pt. 1b

My main point is look at the talent available and adapt your system - I have an unbeatable def system all I need are a couple of guys who can levitate and a MLB who can become invisible
