Calvin Johnson is the greatest WR to come out in a decade- Crabtree is a pretty good WR but that's all.
-
The pick says a lot more about the fans here than it says about the POZ
-
My argument during the off-season was fine go after a WR in the draft- but don't depend on him doing anything his first year- Rookie WRs that make a difference are as rare as hens teeth.
-
I just watched a DE who looked awesome in his highlight video- he's 6,5 265, and runs a 4.65 40, During his senior season, he garnered 8.5 sacks, 9 tackles for loss and 38 quarterback hurries. I think he has a chance to play a little bit for the Bills in 2009- his name? ha ha Chris Ellis

I wouldn't mind Mays but I'd take Curry over him.
-
Well he's not Bruce Smith black more like Obama black

sigh........ of course this is fun time speculation, not the depressing reality that wears red, white and blue, don't you get enough spirit crushing reality when the Bills play during season, why do people have to be such downers, look you have no basis for predicting to draft until after the combine and FA, and you have no basis for predicting FA until you find out who are not signed of tagged- so what do you want to talk about..........ummmm I like gum.
-
Well after the 3rd round the DEs are pretty much crap from the big schools or small school types who may be really good but no one who doesn't do this for a living knows about- so that's why I make the trade so I can at least address the RDE with a pick that someones heard of.

OT- "Can Buffalo Ever Come Back"
billybob replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Canada comes in and takes over- the streets will be cleaner and we will have fully naked strippers. -
Why thank you, you are gentleman and a scholar Mr Beerball- but have you made any money I'm getting really weak with hunger .
-
you obviously have not seen a picture of him- shockingly you can be a high motor black DE
-
more like the 5th, 6th, and 7th have so little value

OT- "Can Buffalo Ever Come Back"

Nothing wrong with Buffalo that 50,000 good jobs couldn't fix- Buffalo has had bad political leadership from at least the 50's- Buffalo is the Ultimate it's not what you know it's who you know town- Buffalo has shot itself in the foot so many times it should wear bullet proof shoes- example1 Bell Labs wanted the land where an old police garage was, for building transistors. The city said no we might want to use that land some day. example 2 at one time UB was going to build it's new campus Downtown and on the waterfront but in reaction to the student protest Buffalo said no thank you- build it somewhere isolated. -
a. why yes- yes I did b. While most have Jermaine Gresham as the number 1 TE some have Brandon Pettigrew as the 1st TE off the board and Chase Coffman is not far behind- I think this will have the effect of pushing Gresham down c. Yes this is very optimistic - some drafts have him going as high as Oakland's 7th pick overall- most have him going in the 20s, Philly at 22, or Baltimore at 27, but a few have him rated behind Darrius Heyward-Bey and Percy Harvin and has him going early in the 2nd round- in my dream scenario we'd have Detroit's second which is the first pick in the 2nd round. and of course I start off by saying it is a dream scenario - I could go realistic with the Bills getting crap in FA and making incomprehensible draft picks so they could tread water at 7-9 or maybe even lose a little ground - would that make you happy sir.
-
finally some love on this board- ..............................................excuse me I'm getting a little misty.
-
genius! pure unadulterated genius- brilliant now this is change you can believe in.

My Dream sequence FA- Chris Kemoeatu G, Jason Brown C, Colin Cole DT, Oshiomogho Atogwe FS, Crowell LB Draft Bills trade down with Detroit- Bills give their 1st and 3rd for Detroit's 1st from Dallas, 2nd, and 5th Bills trade Parrish and a 5th for Vernon Davis, Bills go back to H-Back Draft 1.Jermaine Gresham TE- Bills dump Royal, and FB- Go with Gresham at TE and Fine, Davis,Schouman as H-Back/TE 2. Jeremy Maclin WR/KR- Replaces Parrish in the return game and more potential at WR 2 Tyson Jackson DE/DT- a LDE or pass rushing DT 3. Bills trade 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th to move into 3rd take Matt Shaughnessy DE- Kelsay should be gone unless he takes a massive pay cut

I don't know if I'd want Tank because to me Tommie Harris made him look better than he was- but he basically had two gun charges against Him - he carried unlicensed once- and had guns in his home - I personally think all right thinking people should carry and have guns at home- but what got him canned from Chi town was this " Police in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert said Johnson was stopped for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone at 3:30 a.m. Friday and the officer made observations that led him to believe Johnson was impaired. Sgt. Andrew Duncan, a police spokesman, said Johnson was arrested for "DUI Impaired to the Slightest Degree" but was released without being booked or charged." I bet that 25 mph zone was a school zone- that's what I got hit with once, doing 35 in a 25 school zone at 2am- the same logic that has Buffalo streets with alternative side parking enforced year round even when you just need it in the winter- in the Burbs it's like November to April- By the way if he was Impaired they would have thrown the book at him - but I can see how they could have made that mistake, the why he talks he always sounds impaired.

Now that was fun to watch- I almost forgot what exciting Bills football looked like- is there anyway we could all just watch Bills reruns from that era- and forget what going on now?

Teams that did less with their talent
billybob replied to billybob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ok I just looked at the Fins depth chart and I hate to say it but I think they do have better players- and they have better coaching- the upside for the Bills is Pennington is not a long term solution and neither is Favre. -
I think the biggest thing Juaron could do to help the Team is let Edwards call his own plays - it would immediately solve some of those time management problems- Edwards is suppose to very bright, give him 12 plays or so and let him go to work- If someone sees something crazy from the box call a time-out and get you super-genius play in, make adjustments at halftime, it's football not freaken Rocket science.
