Youtube on Edwards hit....check it out.
JuanGuzman replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kavika Mitchell's hit was more suspension worthy than Adrian Wilson. I think he gets fined just cause Goodell is trying to send a message, but a suspension would be too harsh IMO. Also, I think it was the head rebounding off the turf that caused the Concussion, and not the initial hit. -

Lawrence Phillips--Remember him?
JuanGuzman replied to RJ (not THAT RJ)'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to disagree with you there, while I do think its common for a "troubled player" talent to be overate after the fact by the media, I don't this was the case Lawrence. He possessed a combination of speed, power and tremendous balance that few have ever held. Watch what he did to the Miami Hurricanes as a sophmore (the defense that featured Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp) he made them look like a junior varsity squad. The problem w/ Phillips was not only was he mentally unstable and violent, he also lacked the work ethic to improve himself physically. Basically you had a athlete who relied solely on god given ability; to me the only backs that have come out of the draft in the past 10 years that were more physically talented then him are: 1. Adrian Peterson 2. Jamaal Lewis (pre injury) 3. Fred Taylor 4. Stephen Jackson 5. L.T. Keep in mind the guy was pretty much a back up/suspended (due to the ugly GF assault incident) his Junior Year (draft year). Yet he was still drafted 6th overall and almost every team ahead of in the draft said he was #1 on their board talent wise just couldn't justify pulling the trigger on him. Anyway Lawrence Phillips is a world class piece sh--...disgusting human being, but really he was one of the most talented backs I have seen play (he was so impressive live) he looked like a man playing with boys. -
Well we know that Ralph usually errs on the side of spending as little money as possible. So I'm guessing that is what is holding this discussion up.
-
He was a good offensive coordinator in Minnesota and Miami. It will be interesting to see if catches on with anyone next year. Hell if Mike Mularkey can get a job as an OC again, I don't see why Linehan won't be back working for someone next year.
-
I know its semantics but a rating of 3 is crap, we're 4-0 the offense has put up points. yes the O-Line needs to improve (but its not like were consistently losing the battle at the line of scrimmage, on the whole I say we are winning it), right now I would rank the O-line play as a 5-6.
-
for me the Injuries and the Play of the O-line will dictate the season and how far we can go. So far the O-line has looked average, opening some holes, giving decent pass protection. Other times getting blown up, not picking up blitzes. I think we have the talent in Dockery, Peters and Langston Walker to completely dominant opposing defensive lines - - if the O-line starts getting in sync then we could represent the AFC in the Superbowl. Also I would look to make a trade for some veteran leadership. Tony Gonzalez anyone?

OK---someone has got to do it...

I always find this the fact that sports fans think that our words or are actions can affect the outcome of future games, to be the most peculiar of all sports fans quirks. Whether the Bills come to play or not next week will have everything to do with individual and team preperation... and nothing to do with aimless chatter on a message board. -

JuanGuzman replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm just happy that he put us number 4 in his power rankings. -
Mike Bush looked dynamite against the chiefs. Also Robert Gallery has really turned it around from draft bust at left tackle to potentially one of the most dominating interior lineman in the game today, he was opening holes against the chiefs that you could drive a mack truck through. Home game I think we got it, but If Jamarcus Russel starts to find his mark we could be in trouble as I think we'll need to play 8 in the box to stop the Raiders rushing attack.
-
I remember one article I read touting him as the next Antonio Gates, I think he ran 4.5 and had a forty inch vertical. I guess he couldn't translate his athleticism into on field success. Although I remember him having a nice sophomore season with the Titans he never really did anything afterward.
-
I thought his development last year was going to carry over to this year. Obviously the healthy scratch last week had me worried a lot. Anyway against Jax I saw him swim move into the backfield to break up a running play for a loss, after that I didn't really see him again. But I'm bad at watching line play, what were you guys opinion on his performance yesterday?

Awesome, I try not to take pleasure in injuries but Weis is a self-righteous arrogant crappy coach and resident fat ass. -
For those bemoaning the lack of rookie contributions
JuanGuzman replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its dumb that we still use McGee to return kicks, yes I know he is one of the best in the league; but kickoffs seem to be one of the most dangerous instances in game. Why risk injury to our our best corner, when we have Leodis or Roscoe as an option to return kicks. -
I'm sure this won't be popular but too bad.....

How many plays did James Hardy get?
JuanGuzman replied to JuanGuzman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the info (perhaps it did not deserve its own thread but I couldn't find much talk about it). I am not worried about this first game of the season and all, but hopefully as the season moves a long he will start to contribute because he has loads of talent packed into that 6'5 frame. -
I did not see much of James Hardy out there on the field, although once Royal scored to make it 34 I started flipping between Jags/Ten, NO/Tampa and KC/NE, so I might of missed some. what sort of packages was Hardy in? Did he get many plays or any targets? James Hardy's development could really add another dimension to our Offense.

Could it not be possible that Crowell thought he would be healthy come game 1 and then when he wasn't decided he would go ahead and get his knee scoped. Unless it comes out that this surgery would cause Crowell to miss 10 or more weeks, then no explanation (eg. roster space, spite, money ect) for placing him on IR will be acceptable. The sad thing is this type of thing feels like norm around Bills drive and not irregular. It's always something for the Bills.
-
Puke. if the hearsay is true I am not pleased at the Bills front office, good god put him on the P.U.P list or something to start before he goes to IR. Right now this looks like a vindictive move by Russ Brandon and co. I'm not justifying Crowell's decision to have surgery right before the season starts, all I am saying is the bills handled it inappropriately.

Okay Cue the punter jokes. BUT: This guy is legit. Led the pre-season in total distance, despite two shanks (of 15, 14 yards) in game 1. Consistency is his problem but a phenomenal athlete(4,6 speed, benches 225 35 times had a pre-season run of 34 yards) just F*7King crushes the ball, used to playing in windy conditions. I don't normally do this whole player evaluation thing but I bet who whoever picks him up will have a probowl punter for the next ten years. I love Moorman but if we could get a 4th round pick for him and sign Ryan I would be for it. He was up for a contract extension and I bet penny pinching ted thompson just wanted to sign someone on the cheap (Frost).
