Is this another one of those times when it's ok for us to take cheap shots at the Bills but nobody else can?
That's right. Family infighting is ok but no outsider better take a shot at WNY or the Bills. Barkley can screw himself!
-
I noticed Fairbanks wasn't on the list either.
-
I have been looking for a list, but failed to come up with one...
But, it seems as if there are more and more ex-NFL players becoming coaches in the league.
I got thinking about this because I saw an article about Issac Bruce interested in becoming WR's coach of the Rams. There is also an article about Bill Romanowski interviewing to become the strength and conditioning coach of the Redskins.
What ex-Buffalo Bills player(s) in the past, let's say 10 years...can you see becoming a coach in the NFL?
Obviously Alex Van Pelt has accomplished this, but I am looking for guys who are NOT coach YET?
I will start off with Ross Tucker, Sam Gash, Coy Wire and George Wilson.
I'll go out on a limb and say that Travis Henry won't make the cut.

She should at least get a try out. It's only right . . .

I am happy for the Saints. Their fans are a lot like Bills fans, have had to suffer through horrible times with a cheap assed owner. I am glad to see them succeed.
Good to see an underdog win one. I hope Buffalo's ship comes in before I turn 70, and I'm only half joking..

Let me say I thought the Who were quite good...considering they are pushing 70! My wife who grew up a huge Who fan was aghast at how old Daltrey and Townshend looked. And frankly Daltrey had to tone it down just to keep his voice from giving out.
It made me think about why the NFL keeps dredging up these fossil bands? I mean the median age of a Who fan is probably 55. The median age of an NFL fan is much younger. So where does the NFL go next year? What 60's rock bands are left? Any other ideas from other decades?
If I were to predict I think the NFL will chose a country artist for SBXLV.

Of course there's always Gary "U.S." Bonds . . .

U2 would work, but it would take a boatload of cash . . .

The Saints sure get a lot of love, Im so sick of hearing about them I hope Peyton tears them apart today and they get embarassed on national TV.
Wow that's cold. This is their first trip to the big show, give 'em some slack!

I won't say HATE, but there seems to be a general dislike or disinterest towards the Bills nationally. I mean when they are rumored to re-locate, no one seems to care other than locals like us or ex-pats. No one really has any sympathy towards the fans of Buffalo and their dedication even after those 4 SB losses. Is it maybe because Bills fans are viewed as cocky, drunk and obnoxious? Ralph is a meddling, cheap old geezer? i don't know.
O.J. Simpson, Willis Magahee, Marshawn Lynch, Ko Simpson, Greg Williams, do I need to continue?

I think there is one thing we can guarantee - The Bills will go into training camp with at least 2 QBs who are not presently on the roster.
-
Reed didn't make it, but did make the cut to 10 ... Carter did not, so that's encouraging in future years.
Personally, I think being on the same stage with Jerry Rice would be a tough act to follow. I hope Andre gets in next year. If the Bills had won a SB, it would already be a done deal . . .

So this is a topic in about 3 active threads so why not consolidate -- where does Aaron schobel fit next year. Is his value in a trade or as an OLB.
OLB: yes, he is small, and a pass rusher. Can he follow a receiver or TE on a seam route? Can he read zone coverage? Is he fluid in his hips to turn and run in coverage? I know many say he will be a "pass rush specialist." what is this exactly? It sounds like they expect him to play DE again. If that's the case why really switch even. That 4th man with his hand off the ground is supposed to be a wildcard, not just a pass rusher.
Trade: older, large contract -- played well last year, and many of the 10 before tho. Might gain worth for a final 8 team. Someone like the saints who will likely be replacing a DE, and can't chase a free agent might be inclined to trade for one.
I see him likely gone, even though I'm a big fan. It's much easier for a 20 yr old to make that switch then a 30 something. Hopefully we can get good value for him. Player for player and get an RFA in here with experience in the system, or a first day pick?
Since he wants to be close to home maybe trade him for a 6th or 7th to Dallas or Houston. I guess N.O. is close enough too. Seriously, I think he will retire and now may be a good time for him to go.

I'm in MAryland right now (suburban DC) and i have 25 inches of fresh snow on my deck. 6-10 more inches to come today. Just had to clean a tunnel for the dogs. It's sick....as major as any Buffalo storm i have seen in the past 20 yrs.
SWEET! Time to build a snow fort.

I have lived in San Diego Ten years but will never be a bolt fan, I am a Bills fan for life or until they move, I have come yo realize the Chargers are the Westcoast Bills, they break there fans hearts every year just like our squad does. I actually thought that this was their year, but I kept telling my bolt fan friends not to get too excited because you know they will break your hearts, sure enough it happened again. So my question is to anyone that wants to answer, who do you think will win a Lombardi trophy first, San Diego or Buffalo? I hope I live long enough to see?
Bills. No doubt about it . . .

Jacksonville to L.A. is almost money in the bank!
I have relatives in Jax, and I still remember how excited the community was that they were getting an NFL team. I think that changes to the economy have really hurt Jacksonville.

Dock and Lang were not the top tier FAs, they were second tier. Seeing as how great the Fletcher/Spikes/ and even TO signings were huge successes (TOs success being box office related) I def see us adding some big name guy.
I would not be surprised to see us pick up a veteran QB as a stop-gap until we can draft a franchise guy.
-
probably just speculation, but...

I'm all for second chances, but Lynch is an idiot. Trade him out of the conference for a second round pick . . .
-
Well- we got about 30 inches now here in Maryland and i gave up on the driveway. at least 6 more inches expected today. i'll hire a neighborhood kid to dig it out. Waaaaay too much snow. about 200K people have lost power and i'm worried that we will be next. it could be days to get it back. can you imagine all the people that will miss the SB broadcast?
That would be a crime!
-
Come on down here to DC...we've got 16-24 inches coming Friday.
I'm glad it's missing WNY for a change. It's still 5 months till July, plenty of time for more snow!

Jim Kelly's first game in Buffalo was amazing. The crowd was pumped and Kelly delivered. Even in his first game, we knew we had something special Seriously, the only other QB in Buffalo that had the "it" factor since Kelly was Doug Flutie.
I am ready for a QB to come into Buffalo with that same "it" factor that Kelly showed in his first performance.
Was that the "Giving him the business" game? Bills-Jets?
-
It's a trade for Vick
LoL good one . . .
-
The answer is easy for any Bills fan who has been around a while.
Dolphins
Patriots
Jets
Cowboys
In that order.
Make it a double !
-
What are you having at your Pro Bowl party?
Some cheetoes and a coke . . .
-
Who was our punter back then?
Rick "Bootin" Tuten. Would have like to have John Kidd on the '90 Bills squad . . .
