  1. Regardless of how things turn out tomorrow, I like that this team - From the front office on down - has been taking steps to improve the Bills every week. Difficult and unpopular decisions have been made this season. I still don't know why Edwards made it through training camp, and we got nothing when we cut him. Personally I would have liked to see us get more for Lynch. That being said, he hasn't done much in Seattle. But the F.O. looks to be trying things to build some depth on this team, and HOPEFULLY we have a much stronger cast of players when training camp starts next summer. We're going to need one, because the Patriots are going to be a force to deal with for the next several years.
  2. I agree 100% The Bills need to do everything they can to improve the roster, and giving free agents a look-see is the best option at this point in the season. Jettison guys who don't have what it takes, and find somebody who maybe got cut because of a numbers game or need. We picked up Tasker and Lofton off the waiver-wire once upon a time . . .
  3. If they're not going to contribute this season, might as well put them on IR and open up roster spots for guys who can play. I think it's a good idea. Merriman was a calculated risk that was worth taking. If he can get healthy, he would look good on the roster next year. If he walks, it was worth taking a shot. When are we going to cut Maybin??
  4. I'm looking forward to seeing how some of the newer guys do against a tough "D". I'll be watching Bell, and I'm gonna keep an eye on Urbiak too. It would be great if he turned out to be a reliable back-up. He was a 3rd round pick last year and the Steelers cut him at the end of training camp this year. Don't know what the issue with him was; hopefully he doesn't suck!
  5. It would be great to see a win this weekend, and it would have playoff implications for Pittsburgh (3rd conference loss). I don't think our D is going to be able to hold the Steelers in check, but that's why they play the games right? It would be great to see Fitz continue to improve. He's going to need all his smarts going up againt Pittsburgh's defense.
  6. I haven't thought that far ahead. Like we discussed last off-season, there are too many whole on this team to fill with one draft. And quite frankly, not much has changed. It would be great to have a Bavaro or Metzelaars type of guy, but we have bigger fish to fry right now. Maybe there's a "find" out there someplace...
  7. I agree. Wood's injury last year was wicked. The fact that he is back on the field this year is a testament to his work ethic and desire. Hopefully the injury this past weekend was minor. I think next year we see great things from Wood.
  8. Yes the past month has been fun football for us long-suffering Bills fans. For next year, unless we get LUCK-y, we need to build up the D with our first round pick. Seriously. Out of our starting front 7 on defense, how many could start for any team in the league? One? Two at best?? We need to put something together that can stop a team on third and short when it matters.
  9. I know, obviously McNair's dead and Randall retired 9 years ago. But if either was available in their prime, I can't imagine a team not wanting either one because of his race.
  10. Anything is possible. If every Bill brings his "A" game, we don't make dumb mistakes and don't turn the ball over, we have as good a shot at winning as any of the 3 other teams that have beaten the Steelers this season. Go Bills!
  11. I don't think there is any validity to this thread. If a Randall Cunningham or a Steve McNair were available today, do you think someone would want them for their QB? Teams would be standing in line to sign them!. If this is about the Vince Young issue, it isn't a race thing. It's an insubordination issue from a guy who should be thinking about what's best for his team, and not his own glory.
  12. McGee appears to be having issues with injuries now. I wouldn't call him "Mr. Brittle" (That would be James Hardy). This is McGee's 8th season, and he's probably on the downside of his career.
  13. That boy better start hittin' the treadmill!
  14. Our defense is not good enough to stop at least 3 of these teams. But as the Bills have proved all season long, they will hang tough to the last play of the game. I see us winning 2, possibly 3 more. We come back down to earth this Sunday.
  15. I'm in your court Mr T. I am a realist however. The Bills defensive front 7 is very weak. We have had special teams issues lately. Our offense relies heavily on what kind of day Fitz is having. I expect that the Steelers are going to score in the 30 - 40 point range unless it's real windy this Sunday. I don't see Buffalo winning this one, but I will be pulling for another "W". Go Bills!
  16. Need to let the guy get healthy. I'd hate to see his career end before it really got started.
  17. Lindell has been solid his whole career in Buffalo. Maybe he's nursing an injury? It is something to watch though. Hopefully he turns it around over the next 6 weeks.
  18. I guess showcasing him the first couple games of the season didn't work out? I find it hard to believe that he was the best F.A. tackle they could find. What a waste of money!
  19. The first Bills game I ever went to was against the Oilers in '87. Bruce and an Oiler got ejected from the game. (We won anyway) Saw Bruce in a lot of games. It hurt to see him leave after the '99 season. He is a legend. Hard to believe it's been almost 11 years since he left the Bills...
