  1. Maybe Ryan Fitzpatrick is the next Tom Brady . . . It looks like it's a given that Carolina will have the #1 pick. Even if they are extremely fortunate, I don't see them winning any more than 2 games the rest of the year. More likely scenerio is that they lose out. They are going to have to go offense with their pick; they are averaging less than 14 points-scored per game.
  2. We were so spoiled when we had that guy. Solid his whole career and a great blocker.
  3. Yup that's the stuff that drives me crazy thinking about it. To this day, I wonder if we had kept Smerlas and John Kidd on our roster in 1990, I think we win the Superbowl. Tuten was not a good punter and we were pretty strong on "D", but not that great against the run. Could have made all kinds of difference that year..
  4. I wonder if he can catch? Try him out at T.E. He's the right size..
  5. Bills 27 - Vikes 24 (In O.T. of course! ) My only concern is that with as many defensive starters as we have out, we will be vulnerable to over-pursuit plays. Time will tell.. One more thing I will be watching is Fitz's accuracy and INT#. Hopefully it's 1 or less and they aren't due to mental errors. He's been getting consistently better over the course of the season.
  6. If you give this town a competitive team; especially an exciting one, they will be out to see the Bills play.
  7. And what's more amazing is thar Pat is still playing now - 5 years after we let him walk, and he's 38 years old. The front office really stepped in it that with that guy..
  8. Seriously? I agree we need to go after defensive players hard; the question is: can we help ourselves through free-agency? I have not been impressed at all with our "big" signings the past few years (yes I underdstand that was under a previous administration). I suppose that Stroud has been a "so-so" addition. He is not the player he was a few years ago.
  9. Getting rid of sloppy play was huge. Well-coached teams do not beat themselves. Really looking forward to next year.
  10. Time for a "Halloween in December" party!
  11. If they're going to send a manned mission to Mars, they should send supplies on advance missions so the explorers would already have things waiting for them when they get there. Maybe we could send OJ . . . I think he's too conservative to go long.
  12. So true. I have lived here for most of my 50+ years. It takes an act of God to get things done around here and I don't understand why. For instance: there is no outer-loop that goes all the way around the city. That was poor planning. The fast ferry was simply NOT a good idea for a city this size. The waterfront on Lake Ontario leaves a lot to be desired. For one, you would think that there would be at least ONE hotel in the waterfront district. I just don't get it; there is so much wasted potential here. On the other hand, we did build a downtown baseball stadium (Thank you, Bob Matthews) My ex was from Buffalo and I always thought there was plenty to do over there..
  13. Time goes by quick. I thought he had passed away this past spring; didn't realize it's already been a year and a half. Also, it's coming up on 10 years since we lost Dale Earnhardt Sr.
  14. I wonder if he has any potential as a speed rusher; don't laugh - I have no idea simply because I have not see the guy play. His draft-day times looked pretty good.. Maybin
  15. Let's hope we disappoint him! I think the Bills have a decent shot at a win this weekend.
  16. Ow, that hurt! Hopefully with the new front office staff, the trend of letting productive players slip away will come to an end.
  17. They need to get the guy some PT before the season is over.
  18. Good question. Here is his blogspot on Rochester TV: Scott Pitoniak
  19. Hopefully some of the kids we drafted this year (Troup, Carrington & Moats) will develop into productive starters. We DEFINITELY need help at LB (we suck), and if we can get a solid outside pass-rusher, we should at least move back to the middle of the pack.. Link
  20. Losing Schobel hurt the front seven more than people remember. Obviously the guy was no Bruce Smith, but he was good for about 10 sacks a year. No DE on the team is even close to those numbers this year. (Kyle Williams has 5, but he's an inside guy..)
  21. True. Time-wise, there's only 30 days left before the Bills' season is over. If someone gets hurt now, and it's more than a 2 week injury, might as well put them on IR and bring other people in for a look-see. This is where it's good to have a quality pro-personnel guy who knows can identify decent practice-squaders and free agents. (And please save the Merriman comments)
  22. You really think there will be a McCargone sighting this weekend??
