  1. Accoeding to the depth chart I am seeing, all top 4 picks from the 2011 draft, Dareus, Williams, Sheppard and Searcy, should

be starting today or getting playing time.

This probably a good thing as the season is over and time to find out if the others aside from Dareus can play.

Getting DBs playing time is very important IMO, and I will be interested to see what they do, particularly Williams, as

I think the Bills 2ndary is in for another big offseason including muliple draft selections. Possibly.

"Keep McLuvin off the Field" fan club.

Let's find out who can play and who can't. Give all the rookies a shot.

  2. First of its been reported that Chargers owner Alex Spanos will fire both Norv Turner and probably AJ Smith as well.

My question us, how awesome would it be to have AJ back in Buffalo? Either as an assistant GM or even to take over for Buddy Nix at the end of the season. AJ has an ego and would command a large paycheck but still, he has a proven record of finding Pro Bowl talent.

Also props to Alex Spanos for being an owner who gives damn about his franchise. If only we had an owner with a winning mentality. Maybe someday

My recollection: Nix and Smith are on the outs. The chance of A.J. Smith coming to Buffalo is about as likely as a Beatles reunion.

    R.I.P. John and George . . .

  3. Defense Defense Defense Defense Sign a backup center Defense Defense Defense Defense Get another wide-out Defense Defense Defense Defense Promote Wanny Defense Defense Defense Pick up a decent backup QB Defense Defense Defense get some O-line help Defense Defense Defense

That pretty much sums it up

We need to fix the defense.

  4. "I've seen worse and I've heard worse," Burress said. "It doesn't bother me at all. The result I'm looking at is that we won the football game and he turned around and dropped three wide open balls to lose the game for his team. If I was a player that's how I would evaluate myself."

And that, fellow sports fans, is the final word. Ouch - and deservedly so.

    Karma's a beeoytch, Steve.

I guess I'm sick, but I think Stevie's celebration is one of the funniest I've seen. If his little stunt bothered ya, definitely don't watch Dave Chappelle!

    Chappelle

  5. Another Sunday, another loss. The Bills find new ways to frustrate me every week lately, but with the same result. I understand we need more talent, and I think it will be 2012 at least before we are an upper tier team. That being said, I wish they would find a way to steal wins on days like today. If you looked at the stats and not the final score, you would think the Bills had won today.

  6. Does it really matter if we finish 9-7 or 5-11? No we missed the playoffs. The more losses we have, the better chance there is that we will see change and get a better draft pick. I just don't have confidence with the front office people. Whether we have #1 or #12, there's a good chance we'll botch the pick

A team has to learn how to win regardless of whether or not it can still make the playoffs. You separate the guys who will help your team win from those who won't. I want guys who will kick, bite, and scratch their way to a win, and I want 53 of them on the roster.

Regarding the draft: There are other teams that have been picking at the bottom of each round for years, and they are in the playoffs year after year. Buffalo needs to acquire players with the talent and character to duplicate their success. I'd like to see 5 more wins this season, but I would settle for 3.

    Go Bills!

  7. I think in the beginning of the season, Gailey was a COTY candidate, but now OUR Bills are on a downward spiral. Listen I know we have less talent than 30 other teams in the league right now, but I have not seen Chan adjust his game-plan to fool other defenses, and the George Edwards hiring should automatically put him on a very tiny hot seat. I was never really a fan of his due to his failure to have elite teams at GT (Usually had a Top 25 recruiting class year in/out) and failure to go deep in the playoffs with a stacked Dallas team (Aikman, Smith, and Irvin (1 year)). I'm not saying fire him this year, but next year if he gets of to a slow start a la Dick Jauron should we fire him. I mean he is 60, so he could retire soon. So what do you guys think.

I think Gailey is a pretty good coach. Buffalo is the least penalized team in the league (how many years has it been since you could say that??)

The team is way ahead of where is was a year ago. Given the fact that the talent cupboard was bare last year, and only moderately better this year, I give Chan 2 more years. In this division, even with a solid roster, it's going to be tough to sweep N.E. and the Jets. The bills are at least one (if not two) off-seasons away from acquiring the talent needed to beat the best teams in the league.

  8. I saw Santa at the Post Office. If I hadn't left my phone in the truck I would have got a picture. He was trying to be incognito, not wearing his usual red suit and driving a white truck instead of the sleigh, but it was obvious by the beard and tummy it was him.

Hey Jack - how do I change the signature under my avatar?

  9. So I had a Linksys/Cisco router that worked great for about three years. It started acting up last year so I bought the newer version (pretty sure the model was a "2000" or something) and it started off working great. Well, now it seems to be acting up and I'm getting really frustrated. I thought it was just the wireless adapter in my laptop or a driver issue or something, but it's dropping the signal for other wireless devices, too.

I'm wondering what brands and models you guys might be using with good success? I'm looking for a dual band wireless-N router that doesn't have reports of reliability issues. I live in a 1200sf apartment, and it's only one level, so I don't need maximum range.

CNet.com seems to be really high on Asus

I've got a Netgear router. My son plays wireless XBox, daughter is on her laptop and we have also had guests on the network a few times. No issues. Two-story house but the farthest device is only about 20ft from the router.

  10. Sorry, but I don't think 5-11 is going to get us a top 5 pick.

Agreed, and I would rather see character win us some more games. That being said, if I were Chan, I would throw more of the rookies in there and let them cut their teeth in regular season games; not the preseason garbage.

Until we lose one more game, its not over yet. Thats how I look at it. Yes, im being extremely optimistic.

We are done; but we can still finish with a winning record. Since we haven't seen one of those since '04, we are overdue..

  11. Stevie Johnson single handidly changed the complexion of the game...and classless as well. Karma got you on the last drive buddy.

I just watched the replay of his "celebration". Pretty tame if you ask me. We need some more colorful characters in the league.

  12. O.P. - you're preachin' to the choir. As far as line help, if we had a Jeff Wright type of guy on the bench, it would help. Capable back-up who can come in and make a big play on passing downs. Another quality corner would be nice. We need more depth and a few more starters who are impact guys.

This "D" looked solid prior to the injury bug hitting; but still not an upper echelon defense. Once injuries took out some key players, we are back to a bottom 25% "D".
