this team isn't far off.

Who gives a ****. 16 points in 4 1/2 quarters is not a good offensive showing. -

Yeah, and those WR's are part of the offense. Finishing drives and not making turnovers is part of being a good offense. -

There are no moral victories. I don't care if we're the best 2-9 team ever. W's are the only things that matter, and we shat another one away. -

He and Evans both had terrible games, not to mention McKelvin trying to relive his New England mishap from last year by fumbling that punt.... is it possible to hate your favorite team? -

Final score: 19-16... and you think that's a good offensive showing? -
Bulldog on WGR "Fitz is just not that good"
Andrew in CA replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe you're right... I'm not trying to be strident, I know we're all Bills fans here, I'm just frustrated with the mediocrity is all, and I fear constantly being in the 5-11 to 9-7 zone is doing more harm than good for the long term future. Maybe it's because I was at that Jets game that I can't shake this negative attitude. But Fitz has certainly progressed, and showed a lot to come back from his awful first half today, that's for sure. I hope he continues to win and progress, and who knows, maybe he just needed the right situation to come into his own. He's only 27, after all. Maybe you're right. -

He's kept us in every game? How bout that Jets game? How about the end of regulation in Kansas City? How about the backbreaking pick in the New England game? I'm not saying "the guy" has to be perfect, but c'mon, I think we're looking far too much into this comeback today. Don't get me wrong, I like Fitz, I like him a lot better than Trent, but he has not shown enough to be considered the future at QB. -
Roll Call - Who would have preferred to lose?
Andrew in CA replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm wrong? That's a fact? I wish I still had your optimism, but I don't know how you can see this team as any different than the last 10 or so teams we've had. They're still so far away from really contending. -

How many times have you said that to yourself over the last decade? We all said Jauron's teams were SO much better than Mularkey's, more heart, more exciting, learning how to win, blah blah blah. Enough. We've been "3 years away" since 2001. Fitz is not the guy. I hope I'm wrong, but I really doubt it. -

I'd agree with you except that I've probably said that to myself 5 out of the last 10 years. Enough spinning our wheels. We aren't turning **** around with the personnel we have. I just don't believe in the "learning how to win" bull **** anymore. I hope I'm wrong this time, but this past decade leads me to believe I'm not. -
If Fitz would have been the starter from game one.......

The difference in the team since he took over is night and day, and not just in results. They actually look like they want to win out there. -
Joanna Newsom is one of the best musicians active today. Kind of quirky, and it may take a couple listens, but I'd put her in my top 10 all-time favorites. Joanna Newsom- In California I don't know how to put youtube videos in a post, so here's a link.

Why are we not playing our drafted rookies?
Andrew in CA replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why should he play if he's not ready? Playing a guy just because of his draft slot is absolutely dumb. -
Exactly– especially when it comes to the first pick in the draft. The only way someone would trade up to get it is if there were a definitive sure-thing sitting at #1– in which case the Bills should draft him. The money being shelled out for top-5 draft picks is so ridiculous now that teams consider it somewhat of a curse. There was a whole article about it in Sports Illustrated a few weeks ago.

Tea Party and their effect on the elections
Andrew in CA replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's great in theory, but people don't make decisions based entirely on economic motivations. Why do we need employment discrimination laws, for example, if purely economic reasons will do away with racism/sexism/whatever-ism? -
According to Wikipedia, it's Bradley... whoever that is. Link (3rd line under the heading "Plot")

Agreed. Still pissed off at a lot of the decision making, though. And I see no potential (aside from Williams) on defense. -
Yup– he plays great right up until you need him to make just one more play... and then he tanks it. Can't wait to see who our 1st Rd. QB pick is.

I always watch "Halloween." I love that movie.

Boston College Student Asks For Tuition Back
Andrew in CA replied to a topic in Off the Wall Archives
I agree, the guy seems like a mook and someone who wanted a specific job and now is crying because it wasn't just handed to him at the end. It's not Step 1: Law school; Step 2: ???; Step 3: Profit!; like a lot of people in law school think. Not that many people in law school don't want to practice law. Those people exist, but they are few and far between. People go to law school to get a job, or to further their career prospects, like in your co-worker's case, because getting a JD will advance a career they already have. Again, all that being said, this guy is a giant crybaby who really should have thought dropping nearly $200K on 3 years of school with a family to support. -

Well, he's at law school, so the point of going is to be employed as a lawyer at the end (for the most part). People don't go just to go, or as a stepping stone to further academic development. That being said, I feel zero sympathy for this guy. I'm sure there's far more to this story than the school failing to find him a job. -
I'm thinking Yankees in 6; if it goes to game 7, Lee will be pitching at home, and I don't like anyone's chances against this guy right now. I think the Yankees can handle the rest of the Rangers' staff, and even survive an AJ start at home by mashing their way to victory, but if they let it get to Game 7, I don't like their chances.

OK, cool, that makes sense. I had seen that quote in your sig for awhile now and never understood what it was referring to, but I like that philosophy. -
