A Few Thoughts About The Game
Andrew in CA replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ye,s, Yes, Yes. Couldn't agree more. They seemed to abandon the run right at the moment the run was most effective. Plus, why the F use Jackson on 3rd and Goal from the 1 in the 1st quarter?! Lynch is a much better short yardage back. So perplexing, so many boneheaded calls in this game. -
FTW. I loved the call, and obviously hated the execution. TE has to know in that situation to stay low to avoid that exact catastrophe.
-
I disagree. He played well up until his inexplicable fumble that cost us the game. After that, there was no rn game, which was working very well, and there was little he could do.

Cut Robert Royal
Andrew in CA replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He should no longer be a target. Use Schouman, use Fine, use 4 WR sets, just DO NOT throw the ball to this failure. -
That wasn't as harsh I was expecting- if he needs time to get better, so be it. Reed is playing well right now, so Hardy's absence isn't a huge detriment at this point. Come playoffs, if the Bills get there (/KNOCKING ON EVERY PIECE OF WOOD IN SIGHT), you'd have to think he'd have become a factor, even in short yardage, at that point. Can't wait forever, but the team can be patient for the time being.

I think we should wait to pass judgment on Ellis until he's had some PT. It's way too early too state he hasn't panned out. That being said, I think the DE stock is always up, Dline is so important.
-
It was there for the taking
-
FTW. If there is a top flight DE available when the Bills pick, snatch him up. After that, BPA at TE, C, or OLB. I feel you can't have too many great DE's, so you take one if one is available, even if it isn't a glaring hole on your team.

Why I will vote or John McCain
Andrew in CA replied to scribo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
True, but they were the aggressors in the war, and there was no extended religiously fanatical insurgency civil war following either nations' capitulation. What I'm also saying is that even if a democracy is established there, and we are willing to let it forge its own path, I don't foresee it being a friend of the USA in the same vein of Kuwait and Qatar. Now, if you want to start being a punk and questioning my patriotism and determination, go ahead, just don't expect to be treated with any amount of respect from anyone that disagrees with you. It seemed like you were able to debate without resorting to ad hominem attacks, but apparently, I was wrong. PS I've stated it many times but I am not voting for Obama. There are more than 2 choices in this election. -

The difference is we haven't overthrown the government in those nations. When the dust settles, so to speak, and if Iraq has a legitimate democracy, I doubt many Iraqis are going to want to be close to us. Some there love us, others hate us, and I tend to think the majority would have mixed feelings and would want to chart an independent course if it is truly an independent democracy. I don't know this to be true, but it seems like the most logical outcome. -

But the question then is: what if that democracy doesn't want to be friends with the USA? What if it wants to nationalize its oil, what if it wants to ally with Iran or China? Will we accept it? I want victory- I want a stable, democratic Iraq that can be a friend to the USA on its own accord. I just doubt that this is feasible. -
Maybe they are wary of democracy because the CIA orchestrated the overthrow of their democratic government in 1953 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat ). Now, I'm not saying I think their current regime is hunky dory, but they have a sordid history with democracy and western relations.

If this is what it will be like
Andrew in CA replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Since I live in a blue state, my vote won't matter either way in a national election, so I don't feel like I'm wasting my vote, because it's already wasted. I vote for the third party platform I agree with most, in the hopes that national recognition or public funding one day goes to that party. I can't complain about both parties and not attempt to vote them both out. I encourage everyone I know that will listen to vote 3rd, whether it's Libertarian, Green, Constitution, etc. -

Whitner moves to FS, Simpson now 4th on Depth Chart??
Andrew in CA replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Combine that with this, from today's Buffalo News: "Asked about Simpson before the Arizona game, Bills secondary coach George Catavolos said, 'I think Ko is doing an adequate job. He could be in on more plays. He knows what he has to improve on. He always plays with very good effort. . . . He has to get into some more plays. I think he’s shown progression. He’s got excellent range when he plays half-field [in a two-deep zone] and middle one-third [in a three-deep zone]. . . . He’s got to smell out the plays better. He’s getting more physical. . . . He just has to keep working on it.'" And it sounds more and more like this could be permanent, barring subpar play from Scott. However, as I've already said, I think this is a good move in terms of giving the opposing team different looks and playing to different strengths in a DB rotation. Hell, if it gets us more W's, do whatever you want! -

Yeah, I think that the "demotion" is more injury or rust related than performance. If Scott can be effective, they can really get a good rotation going. -
Whitner moves to FS, Simpson now 4th on Depth Chart??
Andrew in CA replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's mentioned in the AP article. "As for the odd-man out, that would be Ko Simpson, the former starting free safety who has watched his playing time diminish this season and spent the past week nursing a hamstring injury. As it now stands, Simpson has not only lost the starting job but he's fallen to fourth on the depth chart behind George Wilson." -

I think this is his source: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1...84-247e39ca5d92 The article is not definitive, but is certainly suggesting that Ko might be a backup for awhile. This seems like it would have to be a factor, putting more size on the SS, especially with the smallish Ellison playing LB there. I think they weren't totally satisfied with Ko as a starter at FS, saw that Whitner is both capable and amenable to being moved around, and felt that Scott could be an effective SS. If it works out, ie if Scott can be an effective starting SS, this could be great- it would give the Bills a lot of options in mixing and matching with those 4 (the fourth being Wilson). -
If you've ever got a ton of time to kill or are really dedicated, every episode of Lost is available for free on abc.com. I caught up totally during the writer's strike after never seeing an episode (it is a REALLY addicting show!). It helps a ton to watch every episode, and you'll have the entire series fresh in your mind for this season. You've got a few months, so there's time, if you want.

Really cool. Great coverage all around on that play, there was no one open. McKelvin (I think it was him) had great coverage 1 on 1 in the corner of the endzone and everyone else was matched up with Mitchell free. If Rivers had looked at him, he wouldn'tve thrown it (obviously) but it didn't look like Mitchell would be moving across the field from Rivers's perspective. Mitchell had great instincts to check Gates and make a move, part of which comes from identifying the play. God I love football.

"Diversity" Is Costing Us Dearly!
Andrew in CA replied to WendyGirl33's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So, this is your "thing"? Every post you've made is the start of a race-based topic, always painting white people as victims of one thing or another, and then never come back for a discussion? Get lost. -
